Question about those videos where you see whales at Marinas

Are whales able to swim in water that much shallower than I think or are some Marinas SUPER DEEP even though they are only like 50 feet off shore?

I assume you 're talking about the humpbacks feeding at a wharf?

In my experience, it’s the young whales that get close to the marinas. And the one I’m thinking of that I go to to watch whales is pretty deep—like still 30ft at least during low tide, which is plenty of space for a young whale.
