Any cattery recommendations for Christmas with availability?

So I know I've left it a bit late to be asking this but are there any catterys around the MK area that you guys would recommend or that you know have availability?
I live in Wales and all the ones round here are booked up or look shoddy as hell and I wouldn't trust them with my boy.
Just trying to see if there's hope for spending Christmas with family by boarding him close to them rather than over here.
Bringing him with to family isn't an option unfortunately since they have a husky that has a very high prey drive for cats especially and my boy is very skittish so that's not a good combination for anyone involved.
Cat tax in the comments ofc

I used one in Sherington near Newport Pagnell before

It’s a bit out of MK, but I can’t recommend The Blue Cat Cattery in Clophill enough

I've used Olliark cattery in Pury End (near Towcester) before and would recommend them.
Wales is a long way for cat to be travelling. Maybe you could find somewhere closer to home that's kind of on your route?

I'll keep them in mind thank you! And yeah it is a long way, he's pretty calm in the car though but I'm gonna see what I can find

I've used Cat In The Flat to find cat sitters before and been very happy with it, when we've not had friends or family available to help.
Far prefer keeping cats in their home environment wherever possible.

I've heard Dick Whittington's in Hockliffe is good

Have you considered a cat sitter to go in while you’re away instead? Could be tricky to find one working over the Christmas period but he might be happier being in his own home and a stranger popping in to feed him than having to live elsewhere, even briefly.

Sorry I didn't want to dismiss your suggestion, apologies if it came across like that, I'm hoping to use drop ins as a last resort since they'd have to come over a few times for him to warm up to them if hes willing to and I know some aren't insured to give medication so I'm trying to see what other options there are first

Not dismissive at all! You know what’s best for him :) I suggested it as my dad is going away next year and was going to board his cats, a cat sitter hadn’t occurred to him as an option until I mentioned it. But it sounds like a cattery would actually make more sense for your boy!

He's my first cat and I definitely feel like a new parent haha, the firsts will always make you worried, I know he'll be stressed either way, but I'd rather him be stressed about new place than stressed enough to shut down about strangers in the house

I have thought about this, I did have friends visit for a weekend about a month ago and he refused to leave the bedroom all weekend, even when we left the house he did not come down, I had to set his stuff up in the bedroom otherwise he wouldn't have eaten or done his business all weekend, he's been avoiding the sofa for the last week since I had a repairman over. He hates when the door is knocked, but he somehow does loads better in a neutral setting, when I take him to the vets he clearly isn't a fan but is willing to be nice and accept scritches from them and starts purring. He was stray before July so I have no idea what his story is but he clearly has some trauma with strangers in the house.
Plus he has some breathing issues and he'll more than likely be on medication for it come Christmas so I'd rather he be where someone can help should anything go wrong.
I do fully agree that drop ins would be better, but right now he isn't confident enough around strangers to accept them, I'm hoping to work on it but I don't think we'll get far in a month

Edit: not sure how to add cat tax photo in the comments, my bad the option was there but not anymore it seems
