Lads!
Btw just a note OP, these guys stand in the same political line like the ones that tried to stop ammunition tracks of NATO for Ukraine. They are against NATO, Russia, Zelensky and Israel and they were the first to protest against all this carnage. They are for the workers, not the oligarchs. The Marxists you were saying in a previous post.
Another_WeebOnReddit@reddit (OP)
yeah they are piece of shit, but they finally did something good for once
SalmorejoFresquito@reddit
Why are they pos? Selling weapons is ok but just to the ones you decide?
Another_WeebOnReddit@reddit (OP)
Because Ukraine needs them, they are being invaded.
SalmorejoFresquito@reddit
And they don't want that to be a bussiness
PasswordIsDongers@reddit
What is the alternative?
sandvine0@reddit
Ukraine & Russia should figure out a diplomatic solution to their dispute. The war has gone on long enough and at this point escalation by any sides would only ends with nuclear war. NATO is very hawkish & wants the war to go on despite the mounting Ukrainians death toll. They're slave to the weapon industries (their economies are dependent on war to sell more weapons, they don't necessarily have Ukraine's best interest).
PasswordIsDongers@reddit
Russia is not interested in a diplomatic solution that doesn't give them everything they want.
That is not a diplomatic solution and only Russian shills are advocating for it.
sandvine0@reddit
And if the need for punishment ends with a nuclear war? Would you still advocate for it? The west have already done their full economic sanctions, embargoes, Russia has been banned from world cultural & sports events, what more do you want? To see the world ends up in flames? Diplomatic solutions, reparations to Ukraine, not any more war. The west just wants to infinitely sell weapons.
"Russia is not interested in a diplomatic solution that doesn't give them everything they want."
And what do they want? They want NATO to not expand? As NATO promised them they would?
PasswordIsDongers@reddit
Again, this is not happening.
I'm done trying to make you understand it.
sandvine0@reddit
That is not happening? Why? Tell me one thing that Russia wants and that NATO is risking nuclear war for? Because if it's not to keep war in perpetuity so the US can keep selling weapons, y'all are risking nuclear war for a disagreement over freaking NATO membership, which is stupid.
PasswordIsDongers@reddit
Russia wants Ukraine.
Nobody but Russia is risking nuclear war.
If you give in to Russia's demands because you're afraid of nuclear war, you're just telling Russia it can do whatever it wants forever as long as it threatens nuclear war.
Goodbye.

Because your head is denser than a ball of Thungsten for interpenting their wish for "Greece to be Neutral" as: "Either picking your 'right' side of Political Tribalism, or being fundamentally your worst enemy".
To spell it out would: "Greece being Neutral" translates to "Not getting invovled with stuff that has little to do with Greece in general"- it dosen't matter if it's "Invading Syria", "Invading NK" or "Ending slavery in Lybia" we are talking about here, they don't to get involved with any of this.

Israel was very justified in entering Northern Gaza. But that's about it. What they have been doing since then is an aggressive war shamelessly using their innocent victims as a casus belli to "clean house". Aka what the US did after 9/11 and it will probably have the same results.
OsarmaBeanLatin@reddit
Oh yeah. A democratic country who's minding it's own business is just as bad as a Jihadist dictatorship who keeps attacking it's neighbor over historical grudges. Are you serious right now ?!
CriticalHistoryGreek@reddit
Minding its own business on occupied Palestinian lands?
Every-Artist-35@reddit
If 400 fighters from whatever nation invade Xanthi and beheaded people in the town where exactly would you stop your retaliation?
CriticalHistoryGreek@reddit
Are the Turks and Pomaks around Xanthi "occupied"? Granted, we don't respect their minority rights but saying their lands are occupied in the way Gaza and West Bank are occupied by Israel a very big stretch.
Fatalaros@reddit
Can you give an example.
CriticalHistoryGreek@reddit
Can they have education in their language? Can they call themselves what they are, or will the entire Greece act shocked if a Turk from Thrace calls himself a Turk?
Still, they're much better off than Palestinians in Gaza and West Bank.
Fatalaros@reddit
Yes. Where do you live in the middle of Athens and have no idea of what happens in the rest of Greece?. They even have their own judicial systems and judges, mayors, government representatives. Who ever told you it is illegal to identify as a Turk or a Bulgarian must have pranked you.
CriticalHistoryGreek@reddit
See here and here.
Fatalaros@reddit
Let's differentiate between two things. The minority in Trace is identified as religious and not ethnic. That being muslim. In it therefore are included, turks, greeks, pomaks and bulgarians. The state doesn't recognise the turks as a separate ethnic minority (as per the Lausanne treaty). It isn't that it doesn't recognise them being Turks.
CriticalHistoryGreek@reddit
So the Turk-specific rights of Turks in Western Thrace aren't recognized. Thank you for confirming what I've been saying.
It still doesn't. Else, why would we act as if we fell from the moon each time a Turk from Western Thrace publicly calls himself a Turk?
Fatalaros@reddit
Why do you want them to be turk specific? They are muslim and their rights as the muslim minority in Thrace are recognised. Nobody "falls from the moon" when a turk from Thrace calls himself a turk. What people hate here is the Turkish state propaganda (of which you are either a victim or a proponent) that the minority is Turkish (and therefore tries to deny that pomaks aren't turks) and that their rights are somehow oppressed. Guess what, Greece is not Yemen. We are in the EU, we are subjects to international organisations and institutions that identify if such problems persist. We can argue however that these populations have been neglected by Greece.
CriticalHistoryGreek@reddit
Because normally they would have such right.
When some collaborators of Marina Satti identified themselves as Turks a controversy was sparked.
There is not just one minority. There is indeed a Muslim religious minority, there are also unrecognized Turkish and Pomak ethnic minorities that (for the biggest part?) overlap the Muslim one. The ethnic rights of the latter are violated.
Ironically we are subject to such criticism only in times when Greece does something correctly, like refusing to bomb SR Yugoslavia back in 1999.
Fatalaros@reddit
Do you really consider gossip in TV as something in which the government should be considered, lol. If Turkey wanted a Turkish minority recognised instead of a muslim one they shouldn't have signed the Lausanne treaty. We stand by the treaty, we honour it and we don't disrespect it like Turkey has done numerous times as evident in the links you sent me.
CriticalHistoryGreek@reddit
I don't even care about Marina Satti and Eurovision, but I care about the fact that her collaborators called themselves what they are, which sparked the controversy. They could also be university professors calling themselves Turks for that matter.
I don't care about Turkey, but I care about the Turkish but citizens of Greece in Western Thrace. The Lausanne treaty isn't just for them, I have no intention to respect it on points where it's injust.
Fatalaros@reddit
There is no controversy just TV gossip drama like you know already. "Turkish citizens" of Greece are called Greek citizens my friend. Otherwise they would be in Turkey. Greek citizens of turkish ethnicity have all the rights a Greek citizen has and more (privileges). You can stop worrying now.
CriticalHistoryGreek@reddit
They are Greek citizens but ethnic Turks. You evidently don't understand ethnic minority rights.
Fatalaros@reddit
Why did you repeat what I wrote?
CriticalHistoryGreek@reddit
It seems that I misread what you wrote, but the second part of what I wrote still stands.
Greek citizens of Turkish ethnicity don't have they rights fulfilled because not even their "Turkishness" is recognized.
OsarmaBeanLatin@reddit
The occupation would have ended a long time ago if those savages just put down their weapons and accepted peaceful coexistance instead of holding on to some historical grudges and using them as a pretext to attack their neighbor.

Only 37% of Greeks support NATO. So even if most of us are voting the same 3 NATO-supporting parties, the support for NATO by the people is in reality much lower. Add to that those who don't vote because they're disillusioned, these people probably won't support NATO either.
And the KKE's percentages are only going up since the start of 2023.
Pekamaan@reddit
KKE? feels like the 50s again
Anastasia_of_Crete@reddit
Its important to note that favorability is not necessarily support or lack there of.
The majority of Greeks would vote to remain in NATO if given the option, which hints more so at a critical or pragmatic support of it. I don't like NATO but I wouldn't want to see Greece outside it, such a thing would be disastrous for our national security, especially in a unipolar world

keep in mind these aren't allegations or some propaganda talking points pushed by israeli lapdogs unto media in which they have leverage and their proof being their renowned trustworthy word for it, this is well documented verifiable and reported by all sorts of human rights organisations and independent sources
you can choose to be israeli apologiser go ahead but don't forget to mention what you choose to ignore and that you have agenda which aligns with the israeli project despite its atrocious nature and don't play the pink-washing civilized victim israeli bs

Maybe if you stopped consuming sources from organisations which have a hate boner towards Israel you'd stop spouting such BS. Only 1 Nation in the Middle East thus far supports Womens Rights & LGBTQ+ rights, and only 1 nation thus far have given their minorities full legal rights (although it does have problems with racism, I will give you that). Remind me again how Jewish people are treated in Arab nations.
PushSingle6250@reddit
it all so happens that any and every official human rights organization (including Israeli ones "betselem" for one) and the UN and any independent sources that report on israeli atrocities with heaps of documentation and verifiable evidence happen to be biased and untrustworthy while israeli or israeli funded propaganda or aligned news sources are reliable
how convenient
RandomRavenboi@reddit
Jessica Montell, the former CEO of Betslem supports the work of Al-Haq's CEO Shawan Jabarin whole-heartedly. Shawan Jabarin was proven in court to be a member of the terrorist group "The Popular Front". Here and here
Here is a quick translation of a part of the first link, which, again, is a court decision: "And yet, the petitioner apparently works in the pattern of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, in some of his hours he is the CEO of a human rights organization, and others he operates in a terrorist organization that does not have any problem committing murder and attempted murder, and which does not have a thing with rights, worse, negates the most basic right of all, the right to life.")
How convenient indeed.
PushSingle6250@reddit
again if the PPL is a terrorist organisation and quote on quote " supporting the work of a member of it whole-heartedly" according to hebrew sources (lol) is reasonable grounds to dismiss every claim it made regardless of the overwhelming evidence that overlaps and is consistent with other sources
then no source that has ever been associated with the IDF or Israeli goverment officials has any legs to stand on as the IDF and the Israeli government are guilty of apartheid and illegal settlment and occupation according to the Hague
" Landmark ruling of 19 July 2024 declared that Israel's occupation of the Gaza strip and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, is unlawful, along with the associated settlement regime, annexation and use of natural resources", "Israel's policies and practices amount either to apartheid or to racial segregation"
on top of ongoing ICC investigation which found a plausible case for genocide which required a significant burden of proof and ordered israel to comply with the investigation and apply measures that israel refused to apply both hearings
The Court considers that, in conformity with its obligations under the Genocide Convention, Israel must immediately halt its military offensive, and any other action in the Rafah Governorate, which may inflict on the Palestinian group in Gaza conditions of life that could bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part. The Court recalls that, in its Order of 26 January 2024, it ordered Israel, inter alia, to “take effective measures to prevent the destruction and ensure the preservation of evidence related to allegations of acts within the scope of Article II and Article III of [the Genocide Convention]”. In the present circumstances, the Court is also of the view that, in order to preserve evidence related to allegations of acts falling within the scope of Article II and Article III of the Genocide Convention, Israel must take effective measures to ensure the unimpeded access to the Gaza Strip of any commission of inquiry, fact-finding mission or other investigative body mandated by competent organs of the United Nations to investigate allegations of genocide.

The cost of living is so high, that you can't afford rent. But if you work, then your studies are compromised, and you'll be kicked out if you take longer than n+2 years.
Bosses are forcing young workers to work 10+ hours, illegally, sometimes without even tips, for like, 3 euros an hour. And they're being left unchecked.
Most masters programs cost over 6.000 euros, and there are no free ones.

Because aesthetics isn't a problem, it's subjective, and arguing about it is the death of honest conversation and progress. It's definitely not something you leave or enter a university for as a reasonable person.
The majority of German universities are worse than the top Greek universities, where you can study if you perform well enough in the entry exams. It's also absolutely not necessary to study in a top German univeristy as an undergraduate if you want the best quality. Maybe if it actually was Harvard I could see your point, but there are no particularly great universities in continental Europe that far outclass the best Greek ones in undergraduate studies, and the two that maybe do are in Switzerland.
Usually you would want to leave Greece for post-graduate study, as most top students do.

These "morons" are one of the reasons I still haven't given up my hopes on Greece completely.
AlegusChopChop@reddit
F off commie. Greece has been run by leftist morons these past 40 years and it has become a shit hole (not to say that it was a paradise before btw). You deps are lucky you lost the bandit war in 1949, if you had won back then you would have had the same fate as the dictator of Romania and Greece would now be a country without leftist traitors, heading towards a better future like Poland, the Baltic states and our neighboring countries, who are surpassing us.
I wish you all good luck migrating to Bulgaria and Romania, countries that are surpassing us due to free market policies, once your turd of a country has been destroyed by its lazy, leftist population of retards.
Now, go do what leftist Greeko morons can do best, throw Molotov cocktails at some poor guys car or vandalize a university kiddo. Dont worry, Greeks are retarded enough to vote for people like you, like they did Tsipras...

Where the Hell did you get that idea from?

Confident-Fondant460@reddit
So anti-Semitism is okay then?
modsneed2shower@reddit
being critical of certain people doesn't make you racist or xenophobic, I don't have to be antisemitic to say that Israel is committing war crimes and the world is acting like they are doing nothing, Serbia got bombed by the US for much less destruction and murder, times magazine was writing articles about how they are bringing the terrorist Serbs to heel, however today we have proven instances of horrendous war crimes, children being targeted with precise drone strikes and yet the US barely does anything, if being antisemitic means standing up to genocidal cowards who kill children, call me an antisemite any day bud

Nothing based about genocidal freaks.
CriticalHistoryGreek@reddit
Who is genocidal?
LoresVro@reddit
Communists. It takes about five seconds for a communist to say something incredibly twisted. There's a reason why people call them TANKIES.
CriticalHistoryGreek@reddit
How is the KKE specifically genocidal?
RandomRavenboi@reddit
If Israel wanted to commit genocide, not even ashes would've remained of Gaza by now.
And it's so genocidal it's currently open to safe keep Palestinian LGBTQ+ memhers who were at risk of being killed in Palestine.
Pekamaan@reddit
Why would you burn lebensraum?
CriticalHistoryGreek@reddit
What about hitting hospitals or schools? Demolishing residential buildings?
RandomRavenboi@reddit
The hospitals which were being used by Hamas to store weapons underneath tunnels? Those hospitals?
CriticalHistoryGreek@reddit
I don't how much of this is true and how much is Israeli propaganda, but the bombing of hospitals is not justified even if Hamas stores weapons underneath them.
RandomRavenboi@reddit
...Then what exactly do you suppose they do? Using hospitals and schools to hide weapons while using civilians as human shields is considered as a war crime and the fault of any deaths that might occur is entirely within the people who placed them there.
And no, it's not Israeli propaganda either.

CriticalHistoryGreek@reddit
Two wrongs don't make a right. But...
If Hamas is in the wrong for hiding weapons in hospitals and was in the wrong for the October 7th attack, wasn't Israel wrong before that for occupying Gaza and West Bank, then financing Hamas and finally not doing anything to prevent the October 7th attack before it happened, just so they have an excuse for whatever they're doing now? They obviously knew about it because Mossad is one of the best security agencies if not the best.
RandomRavenboi@reddit
Israel left Gaza in 2005, and the October 7th attack's main fault lies with Sinwar for organising it and Netanyahu's incompetence.
I will give you that however. The main reason Hamas was financed at the time was to undermine another terrorist oganisation (PLO).
CriticalHistoryGreek@reddit
Yes, some Israeli settlements were dismantled but Gaza remained under direct occupation by Israel.
puzzledpanther@reddit
I mean I'd never vote for them but how the fuck is the KKE genocidal?

it's a joke about how some pro-Palestinians were destorying Greek and Finnish flags because they thought they were Israeli flags.
CriticalHistoryGreek@reddit
It was not pro-Palestinians but either pure idiots doing it for the "views" or saboteurs working to destroy the image of real pro-Palestinians by making them look like idiots. Then also, although I'm far from being a patriot, I feel kind of offended when the Greek flag is being compared to the flag of Israel.

Very strange to understand greek foreign politics sometimes. Does this group represent a large political party?
Axil_GR@reddit
They represent KKE, the Greek Communist party that is strongly anti-NATO, anti-EU, pro-Russia etc. In parliamentary elections they peak at 7%
RandomRavenboi@reddit
Well, that makes sense.
NonsensicalSweater@reddit
The Chinese have had majority stakeholdership in Piraeus since 2016 as well
Wolfesheud@reddit
KKE is not pro Russia by any means. They have broken bonds with Russias communist parties and many european sattelites just after the war. Actually they are considered pro NATO by many of them just because they say Putin is equally wrong.
