This is Kosovo’s locker room after yesterday’s match.

While 50.000 people(including thousands of children and the Romanian team and staff) were waiting at -1 degree (00:00 local time) for the game to resume, the Kosovo team had a pizza party. This is their locker room.
For those that don't know, the Kosovo team abandoned the game in the 94th minute, when they realised they have no chance to win the group in Nations League. They started a fight on field, provoked the supporters, showed forbidden fascist signs and middle fingers everywhere and accused racism as a reason for leaving the pitch.
Xinpincena@reddit
Every non-Albanian is saying that this post is only about how the football team behaved poorly but you can see how many accounts are simply spitting hate and xenophobic statements on Albania. Do you want us to criticise them? Sure, they behaved like shit.
What else? Keep receiving insults from anyone for something most of us had anything to do with?
There is no need to post this video multiple times on reddit just to hate on Albanians.
LeatherSide2921@reddit
It is what it is my g, no one bats an eye when there are dirty chants against muslims but if muslims do anything slightly bad people lose their minds
Xinpincena@reddit
I don’t know, Bosniaks do not receive this treatment and they are muslims. I think its blind hate on the ethnicity
Blind_Cat_exe@reddit
brother its not only this, every game with albania or kosovo with anybody they dont like they will make some shit and do this, 2014 serbia-albania, thrice with romania and now again with romania...
Xinpincena@reddit
Did you really cite Serbia-Albania? The same game where Serbians were chanting all the time “kill the albanian”? And again, what do we have to do with this? In these days there posts and reposts about how Albanians are subhumans and shit by Romanians, with Serbians of course putting their contribute. Please, tell me why should Albanians always endure shit by everyone? You think they are inferior to your superior race? You will be disappointed. Tbh, they only were wrong in exiting last minute, but they should have complained after.
itisiminekikurac@reddit
Albanians explain.
How can you compare chanting Gypsies to chanting Serbia. Serbia's a country, why "Kosovo" players are triggered by it speaks of their own beliefs. But to chant Gypsies to Romanians, is in fact, racist and hateful of minorities aswell.
Albanian, Serbian, Bosnian and Croatian fans often chant "kill X", which in itself is derogatory. If somebody chanted a name of a nation, it would in no way be xenophobic, especially racist.
LeatherSide2921@reddit
Dont play dumb, we all know why they were shouting Serbia - especially after their last incident with the Ks is serbia bs Banners.
Doesnt justify the lockerroom or leaving the pitch tho, but dont act like its just a random countrys name being chanted to downplay the importance. Next time you can shout „Karadzic“ at a Bosnian game since its just a regular name i guess
itisiminekikurac@reddit
It's not a random name, but it just is a name of a country, problem is your fragile ego. And if you have any feeling of belongong to your "nation" whatsoever, it won't make you run off the pitch and ruin the locker room.
How come our players didn't run off when fans chanted "death to Serbs" or Croatians didn't when "death to Croats" was? And that's not just mentioning a name of a country, that's hateful behavior right there.
So I'd say ones playing dumb are you people, acting like Barcelona should issue a statement whenever somebody chants "Spain" on their matches.
SeaMobile8471@reddit
Just like your Serbian players get triggered from fans chanting Kosova. It is the same as chanting Germany to Israelis or Israel to Palestinians. Stop with the gaslighting, Romanians did it last year, they did it this year and all I have is praise for those guys for not letting it slide anymore.
And yes…if you ask about whataboutism on the other side sure…if you hear chanting that is derogatory to someone’s country (I see your “” usage, don’t worry it is a country since yourself cannot enter it without a passport control) your squad should leave the field too.
itisiminekikurac@reddit
Simply, if our players walk off the pitch for it, they'd be massive cunts imho. Also, of course I use the quotation marks when I consider Kosovo the rightful land of Serbia.
Also do not even compare shouting "Israel" and shouting "Serbia", we may disagree on many things, but we need to draw the line on genocidal ideal of a nation. Because chanting a nation's name is not xenophpbic gaslighting, chanting a zionist wet dream should be, as it's built on colonialization, ethnic cleansing and genocide.
SeaMobile8471@reddit
Would you chant Turkey to Armenia if they were playing against your team? Simple question.
itisiminekikurac@reddit
Of course I wouldn't, a genocide was commited against Armenia by Turkish military and I can't agree with that. If I chanted Armenia against Turkey, it wouldn't be out of xenophpbia, but a simple tease/provocation, which is a part of any competitive discipline, sport or not.
If they wanted to provoke Albanian players for "Kosovo" out of xenophobia, they'd use some national prejudice like goatfucking, being a NATO's bitch or idk, criminal activities from top of the political sphere.
inkblowout4@reddit
Honestly walking off the pitch is whatever, people have a right to not play anymore. But leaving the locker room as a pigsty tells me a lot about the people in the Kosovar football team. People who don't clean up after themselves to me IMO is just super disrespectful and now some poor fucking guy who is most likely way underpaid is gonna have to clean that shit up.
LeatherSide2921@reddit
See, as an albanian from kosovo i can agree with your statement - you didnt hate on my people as a whole just the football team. Absolutely fine. I wish people could state their critiques more like you do and not throw all of each other side under the bus for misbehaviour. That being said, I think balkans as a whole has a massive dirt pollution problem because people are uneducated and dicks (not all)
bobjohndaviddick@reddit
Wow that's just horrible behavior. I don't care to visit Kosovo if it looks anything like this.

Downvote if you want, but any serious /r reddit page will understand that this is spreading disinformation. This wasn't the Kosovo locker after the game.
The only proof this person is contributing is a simple Kosovo logo on the door which is very easy to fake, and a room filled with trash. After the game the team took their stuff headed for the transportation and left. They didn't have a Pizza party.
And people saying they were chanting Serbia, they were chanting Kosovo is Serbia, watch the god damn replay everything is visible there. Still no excuse, they should have stood proud against the chanting and kept playing the match.
Instead of believing this video like headless chicken, go to the internet and find the information yourselves.

For Rumanians give the the right respect before you ask some
SeaMobile8471@reddit
I see Romanians have come here really inclined to make themselves the victims since the whole description that the altercation was initiated by Rrahmani is laughable at best, while it was him who was fouled by the Romanian guy without the ball.
Dear Romanians, if you cannot control your biased opinions in a football match by provoking the guest nation with mentioning the name of the country that caused an attempted genocide to the host, do not feels surprised when the guests disrespect you as well. Like the old phase says, fuck around and find out. We couldn’t care less about your views towards us, and the ‘bright’ mind that wrote this has catered the text in such a good way to omit everything supporting the other side’s view.
By the way dear ‘bright’ mind OP, a note for you to understand symbols since you’re clearly uneducated, the ‘eagle sign’ we do with our hands symbolises our ethnic significance. If you thing it symbolises faschism please elaborate how so, since there is currently no faschist supported movement in Albania and no organisation is centred towards the ideology.
Arminius001@reddit
Yes I'm seeing a lot of racism against us Albanians in the comments. At least the mask has been revealed in this sub to show all the racists. I wonder how OP would react if Romania played against Albania/Kosovo at home and Albanian fans started calling Romanians monkeys, saying "Transylvania is Hungary", burning Romanian flags.
Steel3D@reddit
But they did call romanians gypsies and had banners with death to gypsies
Blind_Cat_exe@reddit
shhhh dont tell them the truth
GeneralVuk@reddit
They literally did have signs and chants death to gypsies. This was partly a response.
Blind_Cat_exe@reddit
shhh, dont tell them the truth
Arminius001@reddit
Bro dont even respond to me, you're a Serb living in Canada that talks trash about Albanians constantly online. All I had to do was look at your comment history. How bad are Albanians in your head rent free, that you have to constantly spread hate about them online
redikan@reddit
This incident is exposing a lot of peoples unwarranted hate for Albania/Kosovë. Any incident that involves us is dragged on for 100x longer and treated 100x more harshly than if it was any other Balkan country
Blind_Cat_exe@reddit
brother its not only this, every game with albania or kosovo with anybody they dont like they will make some shit and do this, 2014 serbia-albania, thrice with romania and now again with romania...
Ecstatic_Rent9003@reddit
Why is it offensive to chant Kosovo is Serbia, in case close to 50% of all countries in the world (including the country where the game was held) consider Kosovo as part of Serbia. Legally I think there is nothing wrong with that. I totally get the moral side of it, but being punished for this is not acceptable at all.
Thetitanscream@reddit
Its like shouting Russia in a match between Ukraine and China. It is racist and done with intent, but "legal". The whole moral side of it is what the term Respect that fifa/uefa stand by. We can make the same argument that half of the eastern world also supports Russia but that doesn't justify the xenophobia. The Kosovar team faces it on nearly every game they play. Romania plays throught UEFA standards and considers itself european then it should act like one and if not punish at least not support this kind of behavior. You dont hear the dutch or the italians or even the spanish shout racist claims when Kosovo plays.
Blind_Cat_exe@reddit
chanting "Serbia" is rascist, kk also chanting "russia" is also racist, ok so chanting "germany" in a match between austria and czechia is also raccist then?
apocalyptik4@reddit
You're kidding, right? 😂
RandomRavenboi@reddit
Fucking Christ what a shitshow. Can anyone explain to me like I am 5 on what the fuck happened here? All I know comes from what my dad (a hardcore patriot) told me who is a very biased person.
adspaceb@reddit (OP)
Romania Vs Kosovo (last year, no importance game) - banners with Kosovo is Serbia and similar chants by Romanian fans, clearly heard even from TV, match gets interrupted by the officials, but resumes and ends, Romania gets punished
Romania vs Kosovo (friday, Kosovo needs a win to hold chances for the Nations League group win and a chance to qualify for the World Cup) - match is 0-0, in 94’ minute, a Kosovo player fouls a Romanian player without the ball by attacking him. Free kick is awarded meaning there is no chance for Kosovo to win, as it’s the last set piece in the game. As the Romanian prepares to play the ball, the Kosovo captain(same that initiated the conflict) makes the whole team to leave the pitch accusing racist behaviour. Part of the Kosovo players throw middle fingers, albanian eagles, kick balls in the public, but the majority of the crowd keeps chanting Romania(a minority however chanted Serbia, Serbia for a brief time). The referee and UEFA asks the Kosovo delegation to rejoin the game and end it, while everyone is waiting in the cold and they shower and eat pizzas.
Tableforoneperson@reddit
This sums up as play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
You decided to be an useful idiot for Serbia in this situation, now you need to clean up the mess.
Btw who brought them pizza there?
Cefalopodul@reddit
Lol, that's not what happened. Romania doesn't recognize Kosovo because it would encourage internal extremists.
Last year in June Romania played in Prishtina against Kosovo. Kosovo fans used racist slurs against the Romanian players and pelted them with various objects and showed banners like "Gypsies go home".
2 months later Romania played Kosovo in Bucharest and the Romanian fans showed Kosovo is Serbia banners as revenge for the banners the Kosovar fans showed. The Kosovo team left the field but came back eventually.
2 months ago Romania played Kosovo in Prishtina and once again the Kosovo fans showed racist banners saying the all romanians are gypsies and all gypsies deserve to die. Romania trashed Kosovo 3-0.
Fast forward to last friday. Romania - Kosovo in Bucharest. The Romanian football federation instituted draconian security measures and there were no anti-Kosovo chants or anything of the like. Kosovo needed a 3-0 win to have a change at winning the group. When they saw that wasn't happening 2 Kosovo players, namely Dellova and Vojvoda, started trying to provoke the Romanian fans by shouting "gypsies! gypsies!" towards them and making various hate signs with their hands. The fans did not respond however so Rrahmani tried to start a fight with Denis Alibec. Alibec refused to bite so Rrahmani took the team off the field.
When the Kosovo players left the field the Romanian fans started shouting "pussies! pussies!" and a handful of fans shouted "Serbia! Serbia!"
The UEFA observer and the Kosovo manager tried to enter the Kosovo locker-room to talk to the players but they were refused entry. The players threw a pizza party and then left the stadium without telling anyone.
Tableforoneperson@reddit
So how was pizza delivered to them? And who paid for it?
DisplayDiligent@reddit
Any one of the players or the staff could have ordered pizza, either at the beginning of the game or at halftime. In Romania you can order a pizza almost anywhere. Police won't localize you in time if you are kidnapped, but a pizza delivery guy will get to you in 60 mins or less or guaranteed discount at your next order.
Tableforoneperson@reddit
How did they let pizza delivery guy inside the stadium? How did he manage to bring so many pizzas on motorbike?
How did players or staff ordering pizza change enough money in lei to pay ?
Maybe it was all planned. Hmmm
Blind_Cat_exe@reddit
it was lol, same as everytime, albania-serbia, albanians provoked serbian players by flying a drone with greater albania flag on it, albanian won 3-0 cuz they got the mercy on them. their players are bad, they need to make a demonstration to win, since they saw theyre not going to win they just threw a pizza party and thats it
Cefalopodul@reddit
I don't know the logistics of it but you can clearly see the boxes.
Tableforoneperson@reddit
It would be interesting to find out.
Sereri@reddit
Long story short, Kosovo deserved everything that happened coz of the shit their fans did. Sounds fair to me
Cefalopodul@reddit
Except nothing happened. Kosovo left the field for no reason. The "Serbia" chants happened after they decided to leave.
Ok_Guava_5381@reddit
Do you have a link for the Kosovo players yelling “Gypsy” towards the fans? Haven’t seen that mentioned
Cefalopodul@reddit
I don't but the commentators mentioned it during the match and showed them making gestures towards the crowd.
Blackadder_83@reddit
Lol, pathetic ... That's your excuse for leaving a mess? Zero accountability and civilized behavior ... as expected.
Tableforoneperson@reddit
Its international football match not an Airbnb stay and stadium probably has staff for cleaning.
Besides nothing was damaged beyond repair. A mop and few trash bags and it will look as new. If they are so upset they can charge a cleaning fee to Kosovo football federation.
Using this footage to prove some point is immature and does not help at all.
Wulfagen@reddit
Do you know how Japanese left locker room on Olympics? You strive for independance while behaving like uncultural swines on culture events.
Tableforoneperson@reddit
Its Romania against Kosovo, not Japan. My expectations were set low.
I am not Albanian.
Steel3D@reddit
Google how romania left the locker room during the cup
Wulfagen@reddit
As i see you are defending inappropriate behavior caused by players in another country, they do represent their nation as they have flag on their jersey. And Albania did not play the match. Is Kosovo = Albania now?
Cefalopodul@reddit
Kosovo needed to win 3-0 to win the group. Them leaving the field was premeditated because if the match is cancelled Romania loses 3-0.

Id say the dirty play was a payback. Somebody once said "too many people are way too comfortable with disrespecting people and not getting punched in the face for it." The quote was about social media, but applies here too.
RandomRavenboi@reddit
Well, this has been embarrasing for both Albania & Kosova.
harvestt77@reddit
Who started this thing first? Romanians or Albanians?
Cefalopodul@reddit
Kosovars last year in Prishtina because Romania doesn't recognize Kosovo for internal security reasons.
harvestt77@reddit
No, it is not because of the fact that Romania doesn't recognize Kosovo (that has some emotional load, because we considered Romanians friends). Romanian fans started in Andorra, before the game in Prishtina and they arrived in Prishtina with Kosovo je Serbia flags - that made the fans chanting cigani! cigani! Your NT captain said on TV that we will show Kosovars when they come to Bucharest, so this was brought at player level by Romanians....anyway, I am not arguing about anything as it is useless at this point, but I strongly believe that things get solved by keeping the facts straight!

I am an albanian but this thing has nothing to do with the match situation. You clean on your way out as of respect for yourself. Racism or not doesn't justify this.
danRares@reddit
But there was no racism. The whole thing was premeditated, I watched the game and our supporters acted like saints. Nothing about kosovo or serbia was chanted. Only Romania chants. At the end when the kosovars saw they can't win they the captain which is a shit person btw started a fight and started to provoke the fans him and Zhegrova and some Dellova or whatever. These guys don't deserve me to remember their names. And after this provocation a snall part of the fans started chanting Serbia. Now hear me out. In pristina the while stadium was chanting gypsies so yeah I have no sympathy or respect for the kosovars players. What they did is a lack of respect for football and any profesional competition.
They should be banned for the next world cup qualifications. This behaviour is unacceptable
Saltybran@reddit
You are clearly gaslighting them, they did chant racist stuff. I couldn't care less bout football or how your lockers look rn but don't try and twist reality.

Can someone please explain me, because I just can't understand, are Albanians, Romanians and Serbians now different races? Aren't we all Caucasian white? What the fuck has race to do with all the shit we made?
Theban_Prince@reddit
I am going to blow your mind but "human races" don't exist on reality, so you can claim who's what basically arbitrary.
janesmex@reddit
Fair point , but I guess they refer to phenotypes/physical features like white skin, black skin etc
Theban_Prince@reddit
Yeah basically it would be the same if curly people were a separate "race" from other types of hair.
But mostly I was pointing that "racism" being arbitrary is the whole point, since you can "out-group" whoever you want.
Used-Orchid561@reddit
I really hope you are joking since Caucasian white is the most stupid term ever used, there is not one good definition for “race” that wouldn’t imply we have thousands, if not millions of races. We are different, but we are all human and should treat each-other that way.
neljudskiresursi@reddit
Ok smartass, 1. When did I say anything about treating anyone differently? You just pushed play button once you saw word "race" and responded with usual crap outside of context 2. If there are no races, how come racism is one of the biggest issue today? 3. Please explain how come shouting "Serbia" "gypsy" etc can be treated as racism? There are many terms to classify that sick behaviour, but calling it racism is pure idiotism.
Saltybran@reddit
*xenophobia *hate, call it whatever you want but its hate directed towards a group of people with different language and culture. What's worse is that Romanians have zero reason to hate Albanians. We always had good relations, but Romanian ultra nationalists started being extremely hateful towards us because they feel "close" and "brotherly" towards Serbs.
It's the most cringe development.
eferalgan@reddit
We don’t hate Albanians bro, we have deep historical ties with Albania. Albania’s anthem is a Romanian song, Nicolae Iorga’s contribution to the establishment of the Albanian state is paramount. Not to mention that Albanians are descendant from ancient Ilirians, who were close to Dacians and Thracians.
When it comes to football, things are not always rational, the ultras groups have their own logic (illogic better said). Is enough for one lunatic to overreact and the rest of the sheep 🐑 will follow. Most of the ultras don’t even make any connection between Kosovo and Albania, their thinking is “people from Kosovo talked shit about us and did shit to us, we need to get them in return”.
Is true that we have a special friendship and brotherhood with our Serbs neighbors and the issue of Kosovo we are not seeing as an Albanians vs Serbs (even it might be). The issue, as we see it, is the way Kosovo has become independent and the image of Christian churches being burned or destroyed in Kosovo. Also, the irrational behavior of the Kosovo government that more than often adds fuel to the fire, instead of doing the opposite.
Hope that this explains things a bit ✌️
Saltybran@reddit
What about the way Kosovo got independent?
A fascist maniac tried to ethnically cleans Kosovo of its people and destroyed whole villages and cities, raped and murdered civilians and transported their bodies to mass graves and here i am having to defend myself because some idiot civilians who probably lost everything attacked a few orthodox churches, it doesn't even compare to the amount of mosques and catholic churches and buildings the serb paramilitary destroyed.
It just feels weird seeing a group of people who have nothing to do with it be so passionate about hating on us.
And its not just a few hooligans, twitter is like infested with ultra nationalistic Romanians who 24/7 talk about how much they love Serbia and wish death on Albanians like that "daily romania" guy. At this point i'm seeing more hate towards us from Romanians then Serbs lol.
No hard feeling but i cringe a little bit when i hear this "brother" stuff.
eferalgan@reddit
The issue of Kosovo independence is the following: after WW2, there was an agreement to not change the borders in Europe by force, because that historically led to wars. Kosovo is the first region that was taken from an existing state using military action.
The reason why this was troublesome, it was the right of a minority - if that principle will continue to apply in Europe, a lot of regions can follow that example and become independent - in Spain, Italy, Slovakia, Romania, Baltic countries, North Macedonia, Bosnia just to name a few. If there will occur independent movements in all these countries, there will be chaos and wars throughout Europe.
And you can see that this is the motivation of Russians for their invasion in Ukraine - “if Kosovo has become independent because it has a huge Albanian minority, why the same principle can’t be applied in Ukraine where there is a huge Russian minority?”
Well, is true, we and the Serbs went through history together in various times, we have common national heroes, common composers. That doesn’t mean we hate Albania or we are against Albania. Romania is a case where we have good relations with both countries.
Anyway, that “Daily Romanian” guy has mental problems, just ignore him. Again, these are football ultras - they are stupid by definition, there is no hate feeling about Albania in Romanian society. Now we are after a football game, the spirits are high, Kosovo team did something shameful, but in a week or two, the temperature will go down and positivity will return.
YuKon_cg@reddit
Don’t you know Albanians get angry when you talk about Kosovo region?

How you dont understand their perspective ? Its not racist when they chant to romanians - gypsies but its racist if you chant Serbia.
harvestt77@reddit
Romania and Kosovo or Romania and Albania have played before and we have never called Romanians gypsies. It all started with Romanians chanting against Albanians in the first game of the Euro qualifiers group against Andorra. In Kosovo we whistled the anthem and you guys came to Kosovo with Serbia je Kosovo flags...then we chanted cigani! cigani! This to keep the facts straight!
What Albanians fail to understand is why Romanians get themselves involved in the conflict between Serbs and Albanians. Don't be stupid to say that because Romanians like Serbia. It is one thing to like a country and another thing to hate another country in the name if the country that you like. To us it just sounds like you have no cause and take Serbian balls to chant against Albanians.
Swimming-Dimension14@reddit
In 2023 during the first match in Prishtina you screamed "gypsy" at the Romanian players. We do not care and didn't leave the pitch also because you're unimportant, you can scream what you want.
harvestt77@reddit
Yes, in that game we chanted gypsies! gypsies! That was after you went to Andorra with Kosovo je Serbia flags and you carried such a flag with you in Prishtina, as well. This to keep the facts straight. Nothing of this scale would have happened, if a bunch of AUR lunatics would have minded their business.
Swimming-Dimension14@reddit

I might be biased of course because I am very furious on this kind of behaviour. From these 4 matches against Kosovo I understood one thing. Kosovars have an inferiority complex and they are playing the victim card everytime they can. I can't stand this kind of behaviour. Are you not real man? And no, the eagle symbol has nothing to do with fascism, given that fascists never took over in albania and the few ones that tried were wiped out by us ourselves. On top of all of that, the sign is like a decade old and it was popularised by football.
Imaginary_String_814@reddit
i agree with you that his wording is overly dramatic but ur eagle symbol is also just used to provoke, or do you guys actually greet each other with this bird sign ? are you kidding me ?
magyarul_tanulok_I_@reddit
It’s not a greeting. It’s a recent national symbol. It only makes sense in that context. Most people do it during independence days when they’re taking pics and what not. Saying it’s fascist would be like calling those lil small chest decorations with the hungarian flag fascist. And it makes even less sense for our case, given OUR LACK OF FASCISM and also our absolute LACK of deranged right wing parties on the verge of taking over while spewing hateful rhetoric, as it is the case with many many other european countries. Again, can I say no fascist ever used it? No. Mind control doesn’t exist yet. I can’t claim there aren’t any at all but for sure it’s not a phenomenon. Other countries have full blown fascist parties with seats in parliament and we have some 16 year olds in tirana putting up stickers. It’s not even comparable.
Imaginary_String_814@reddit
never claimed it was fascist lol only that it was used to provoke, pretty simple.
magyarul_tanulok_I_@reddit
personally, i don’t think it’s concerning when someone is “provoked” since that’s so easy to do nowadays. anything can provoke. I mentioned fascism bcs that was the accusation by OP and because that would be the only consequence that would be concerning if it were real. otherwise who cares? there was this one time kosovo was merely mentioned and vucic called it a provocation so why take it seriously at this point?
Imaginary_String_814@reddit
you clearly dont get my point.
why your people claim chanting Serbia is racism ? wich is an ridicilious statement in itself
I_am_thicc@reddit
Its a country thats suffered under serbia. Say youre in a match between china and ukraine and youre a fan of china. Do you see no problem with chanting "Ukraine is Russia!"?
Imaginary_String_814@reddit
No, they were chanting "Serbia"
also ur comparison makes no sense considering geopolitical circumstances. So you will act everytime mad you hear somebody mention serbia ? Is this a healthy attitude ?
and please dont act like ur players were saints they were provoking it towards the end and acted like spoiled brats. I hope they will get punished for this childish behaviour.
magyarul_tanulok_I_@reddit
to me personally, neither are provocations. to you it seems like one is and one isn’t.
Imaginary_String_814@reddit
for me both isnt.
magyarul_tanulok_I_@reddit
if you think that, then we agree.
dpero29@reddit
Well, if chanting "Serbia" shouldn't be considered a provocation, neither should the hand eagle symbol. If I remember correctly Albanian players were fined and had consequences for doing that. The hand eagle symbol is literally the symbol of the Albanian flag. My existence cannot be a provocation because if it is, that's your problem, not mine. You could argue the same for chanting "Serbia", yeah, you'd be right. However, if it's the case than you should consider not fining Albanian players, or fine both parties. Play by the same rules.
TihPotok@reddit
Fascism is not limited to a specific era or geography. Any society can slip into fascism.
magyarul_tanulok_I_@reddit
Absolutely but that has nothing to do with his or my comment.I can’t predict the future. Can the sign be used by fascists that might appear in the future? Yes. Does it originate from fascism to warrant calling it that? No. So it is just inflammatory bullshit that will end up rendering the word meaningless.
TihPotok@reddit
Well, if Kosovo Albanians are triggered by the mention of Serbia while displaying a hand gesture (which is Albanian), it seems to me that there is an underlying issue. If we encounter ethnic divisions, nationalism, and selective populism, we could consider these as early signs of fascism.
magyarul_tanulok_I_@reddit
If football hooligans behaving like they do would lead to fascism, all of europe would be fascist. In fact, there would be small fascist countries within each country depending on local teams lmao. Lots of european countries have full blown fascist parties with seats in parliament. The most influential activity that fascists do now in albania is that they are 16 and they put up stickers in tirana. You are digging for precedent where there simply isn’t. If there were, I would be the first to worry since I’m more on the left in my beliefs. Albania has lots of problems as it is, no need in dreaming up new ones.
TihPotok@reddit
I am not talking about hooligans here.
magyarul_tanulok_I_@reddit
Ah I see so if you want to paint a picture, paint the picture bro and spare my time by saying that you’re not really interested on how things really are. Remember, albania is not in space and in case of doubt, it’s easy to visit and see things for yourself.
TihPotok@reddit
Also, I am not speaking about Albania, but Kosovo.
magyarul_tanulok_I_@reddit
The same applies. They have a critical theory leftist in charge that they voted into power. VV was a group of activists a decade ago and now they are in charge. Agree or not with their policies (plenty of people disagree), it’s not even comparable to having vucic in charge, who was a member of milosevic cabinet as the minister of propaganda. This fact alone says a lot about whose fascism or chauvinism you should be worrying about. Considering what your past governments have put them through, the lack of precedent is actually quite impressive.
TihPotok@reddit
Maybe thay are leftist but this incident paints a different story.
magyarul_tanulok_I_@reddit
We’re talking precedents. Incidents like these happen all the time, especially in balkans and while it is unfortunate that people behave like this, as I said several times, is not enough proof to dream up scenarios (given that both countries do not have populist right, let alone fascist parties), especially when you have the chauvinist at home. It’s also hypocritical but you do the painting bro. I understand why you’d like for there to be prominent albanian fascists as it would greatly benefit you as a justification so keep painting. We’ve even had a leftist orthodox priest as PM and he was deposed with the help of the yugoslav army, the classic example that demonstrates how us having a good and peaceful leader does not benefit you. I fully understand how that’s not what you would want. Instead you want as many of these idiots as possible so you can paint pictures.
TihPotok@reddit
Well, I don't think anyone painted Albanian nationalists in a bad light. They did that themselves—not just at the football match, but also here reacting inaproprietly.
magyarul_tanulok_I_@reddit
yeah bro that is definitely on topic with what you were claiming in your past comments. it seems like you’ve been made aware of, and accepted the lack of precedent, which is why you now reduce your argument from baseless assumptions for future possibility of fascism, to football idiots acting inappropriately. next reply is going to be water is wet 👌
TihPotok@reddit
Are you calling Kosovo's footbal team and all commentators here who are defending them idiots?
magyarul_tanulok_I_@reddit
Reading comprehension? I did so twice.
TihPotok@reddit
Kurti, the PM of Kosovo also encouraged this behavior. Is he also an idiot?
magyarul_tanulok_I_@reddit
Kurti encouraged football players to not clean their room? Or did he encourage fans to yell specific stuff? Football fans need kurti to tell them what to do?
It’s getting ridiculous now bro. Your guy is recorded encouraging violence explicitly. The ‘gotcha’ moment you’re looking for is more likely to happen in serbia before it happens for us but maybe you’re into that kind of stuff and I’m wasting my time telling you all of this.
TihPotok@reddit
Kurti welcomed football team as they are national heroes. That is the fact. Check the news for yourself.
magyarul_tanulok_I_@reddit
The “fact” in the news is that he, of course, showed support for the team of the people he leads. It’s stupid and reductive to claim he treated them like “national heroes”. He doesn’t have mind control powers to make them clean their room, nor would it benefit him politically to mention it for the media, given how the media will use anything (like you’re doing here) to shit on a very rightful cause. Behind closed doors, who knows? Do you really need some reddit user to explain how politics work in general? If I was in his position, I would do the same thing cause his hands are tied. He also has to officially support israel but when he marched with lgbt groups, the flags in the back were all palestine. Again, it’s politics. It’s limited to what you can do not to what you want to do. But all of this is stupid, you already know your hooligans are much worse, you already know of their ties with both the governments and mafia.
TihPotok@reddit
No, he explicitly stataed that he is proud of their behavior. He even repeted "Kosovo is Albania" as a PM of self-proclaimed state that has multicultural constitution.
magyarul_tanulok_I_@reddit
Yeah bro kurti told them personally make sure to not clean up and that he’ll be proud of that lol. So dense.
So your real problem, that you should have said in your first comment to spare my time, is not, after all, that we might turn to fascism but that kosovo is an independent country. For that, pls consult the many countries who recognise it. By your logic, you can’t call serbia serbian bcs there’s hungarians in vojvodina.

Wow look how Kosovo left the locker room after all those racist chants and insults for 90mins. Wow so bad, romanians dont do nothing we good people. Fucking clowns.

Insult your guests and expect them to clean? Give us a break ok?

Imaginary_String_814@reddit
you never leave ur place like this, insulted or not. Were not pigs
Shtapiq@reddit
True, that’s true. However, can’t say who made this place to look like this. The players or a setup from Romanian staff to put the morals on their side.
Stabbingwestoids@reddit
"Bogan, remember the pizza we had last night? Bring the leftovers and containers here and throw it everywhere in the kosovo lockers, someone named vucic paid us 500 croatian kunas to do this. Those siptars will never know what hit em" insert mischievous laughter
Imaginary_String_814@reddit
a setup ? Wouldnt be suprised if Vucic was behind all this /s
you guys are living in an parallel world.

They insulted the hosts lol. Crybabies
Shtapiq@reddit
I even checked the game in Prishtina, the first peuple chanting insults were the Romanians. You can’t help insulting smaller nations can’t you?
dobrits@reddit
With all due respect this is not about insulting its about discipline and views on life.

Discipline? Nope, never heard of that.

Many of the Romanian media actually wrote that it was our supporters’ fault for chanting Serbia. I was convinced that that was the case and that it was our fault. I didn’t see the game, and I mentioned that casually to my brother in law over launch, and I started a total drama with him. He started yelling because he actually saw the game and he said that it wasn’t true and that the Kosovars started it.
For everybody to understand, as a Romanian I never had any beef with Kosovo. And so do all the people I know. I am tempted to think that it is simply a case of football huliganisme. On the player’s side, could have been a pressure buildup in this case. It is not racial, because it cannot be. These nations don’t have any history together, not good nor bad.

I worked at Madison Square Garden, I dont see any issues here. Locker rooms after basketball and hockey games are usually like this.

LoresVro@reddit
Yeah this is disgusting but I don't think your explanation of what happened is actually what happened. Balkan fans have a tendency to abuse the players, not the way around.
adspaceb@reddit (OP)
Last year it was true, and UEFA stopped the game. Romania was fined for it, and apologised, as it was wrong to act that way. This year there was a whole campaign to stop this and behave, and the public really did, there was no reaction by the public until the Kosovo captain attacked a Romanian player on the field and started everything including inciting the supporters.
LoresVro@reddit
Lol fighting and arguments between players is common, doesnt mean the fans have to get involved with genocidal chants.
AccomplishedPie5160@reddit

Your ignorance is truly shining, look at what your fans and players have done in previous matches and judge a whole nation of people by that.
FarLanguage7173@reddit
What did our players?
harvestt77@reddit
Nicolae Stanciu said after the first game in Prishtina that we will show Albanians what happens when they come to Bucharest. Was this all organized by Stanciu and the Romanian Federation? 😂😂😂

Round_Parking601@reddit
So if some Romanian group of people acts in bad faith, would you feel good if I said stuff about Romanians as a nation?
Come on man
adspaceb@reddit (OP)
You can’t judge a nation based on a football delegation, only of the delegation, which is embarrassing. And past incidents don’t justify this behaviour by them though.
danRares@reddit
I'm not judging the whole population only the footballers and staff and people from their federation
577564842@reddit
It is a representative selection though. They do - they all do - represent their states on the field, they didn't just get there by chance.
woolblock_@reddit
Ahhhh there it is.
harvestt77@reddit
This post starts with a lie: Players did not show any fascist signs.
woolblock_@reddit
What’s that exactly supposed to mean ? That Kosovar are animals ? Degrade our humanity and pretend like we’re something less than others? Low effort post even if you’re just trying to be racist.
Swimming-Dimension14@reddit
Yes
slinkyshotz@reddit
well, which part of the post description do you disagree with?
nobody said degraded humanity - but you
and racism - on which side? it's the same race
woolblock_@reddit
This particular account has been trying to post the same video on multiple subs. The video and the context matters. The video is literally a person going through a post match locker room and recording it show the "behavior" of "these" people. So what can we conclude. The video is there to diminish a group of people because a team left a locker dirty after a whatever problematic game apparently.
Racism on which side. Hmmm how about the side that clearly has an issue with Kosovar Albanians. Same race. OK sure lets do the naming game cuz its so much fun. Lets call it ignorance and clear bigotry towards a group of people of the same race however different ethnic background.
slinkyshotz@reddit
Nobody thinks worse of albanians or kosovo people or... anyone because of a football team's bad behavior is representative of the whole country. They're football players, not much expectation there.
They should get told when they get back home that's no way to behave, and set an example. Otherwise... no one gives an F

New_Accident_4909@reddit
That footballers from this team behaved like animals. Or do you disagree with that statement?
woolblock_@reddit
Well you just proved my point with the sentence you just wrote so thank you. And yes I do disagree. You cant boil down the personality of an individual or let alone an entire group of people on a thing that has happened on a night that was charged with issues. But god forbid after all its Reddit and everybody thinks they are Slavoj Žižek which makes people do the so called social commentary but sadly from a very narrow view.
New_Accident_4909@reddit
You are delusional, this is uncultured behavior no matter who did it. Inability to do a batter thing and be a better person is telling.

If Kosovars last year, when we behaved like idiots and monkeys, would’ve stayed in their lockers and refused to come to the field … I would’ve agreed with the Kosovars because the fans behaved horrible.
But this week … they were more peaceful and less idiots behaviour, it’s like they were looking for something provocative to get angry at.
Out of all our past matches you picked the worst one to accuse us for being idiots .. you can’t use past games for today behaviour.
YTPMASTERALB@reddit
"forbidden racism sign" being the eagle? Are you okay in the head? The eagle is a national team support sign for football, it mainly exists in the context of football, it was created through football and is barely used anywhere else. You can accuse them of being dirty but not racist over the eagle sign
latalatala@reddit
Well isn’t that description very conveniently one sided…
adspaceb@reddit (OP)
Isn’t abandoning a game in the final minute when you have no chance of winning and implicitly win the group very convenient also?
