Nothing to see here... Just a pickup truck version of the most exclusive Rolls Royce ever made.... The 1950 Phantom IV Test Mule!

The “retrieval lorry”. I bet it accelerates like a rig too.

Finally a posh truck for the blue-collar worker! You can keep your Cyber truck, Ford Lightning and you Denali's! You are beneath me Peasants!

No Joke! You weren't even able to purchase a Phantom IV unless you were a head of state... and the buyer would have to sign paperwork that prohibited them from selling it!

Ferrari vibes.

Where do you think they got it?
If you buy a rolls, you're not authorized to open the hood. You're not allowed to maintain it in any way. No modifications. I don't even know if you're authorized to look at the dash.
Ferrari is lenient in comparison.

This is how the royals do their yard work 😆

These stories are interesting, I do believe there is an Australian version of the Kenya story. https://www.facebook.com/79DIRT/photos/1976-rolls-royce-spotted-on-a-queensland-cattle-stationpeter-wood-i-was-told-thi/1047172014090226/?_rdr

Well, if you’re going to test for reliability using something like a truck would definitely do it!

This was the second Phantom IV built out of 18 total units.. Chassis number 4A4F was fitted with this body by Park Ward and used as a service vehicle around the factory.. In 1952 it was used to test the B81 inline 8- Cylinder engine which would be used in later models.
This Phantom IV was used around the factory up until it was scrapped in 1963.... and it makes me legitimately upset!

ok the test mule got a giggle, thanks for the backstory.

“Why I do say, I’ll take one of those Pick-a-them up tricks the poors have”
Rolls: “say no more!”

There's a family story that my mum's great-uncle back in Britain used a pre-WW1 'Silver Ghost' as a farm truck in the '50s or '60s.
(Took the body off and just had the bare frame/drive train/radiator and a homemade seat/bed)
