Funny how this is the only stronghold on reddit with a decent different opinion from all of reddit, you all might not actually use 4chan but you are alright
People are free to talk about politics here and won't be banned. Leftists will sometimes get downvoted to hell but they are still welcome to voice their opinion.
This is why I like the 4chan subs, they have what I can only call a sense of 'positive nihilism'. Like, yeah shit's fucked, but it's not fucked where I am, so it's kinda funny really.
4chan subs are in a way how the internet used to be without virtue signaling woke morons everywhere
Memeing, shitposting, trolling and irreverent humor. The commercialized internet is cringe and Redditors don’t know how to be funny because they grew up in a bubble of cringe humor
It says alot when someone points out that this sub isn't an echochamber and your first response is to immediately try to guide him into conservative subs. Stay in your bubble bro nobody wants to join you.
its right leaning but leftist discussion is active and prevalent and it isn't necessarily a downvote if left sub either. As long as you make legitimately good points then you'll be respected and you can clown on conservatives.
" Every weekday morning, Harris for President staffers like Gabrielle Lynn post the “Daily Messaging Guidance” to the server’s Reddit channel. It usually consists of articles and data that the Harris-Walz campaign wants to boost, as well as “key messaging” that their Reddit volunteers should stick to.
Kamala’s “Lead Posters” (people who have demonstrated a “cultural” knowledge of Reddit) then choose which links will resonate best with different Reddit communities. For instance, a link about “how Project 2025 impacts reproductive health” will be directed towards communities with young women as their primary user base, whereas news about Kamala’s Fox News interview “winning over swing state voters” gets directed to Reddit’s Democrat communities, and possibly to people living in swing states."
It's not artificial for a group of people to organise and try and influence a social media platform
The process you described isn't any different to a group of volunteers in the 90s getting marching orders from the Bush snr/Clinton campaign on how to approach people in a mall. The only difference is that on a platform like reddit you don't know whether someone is affiliated when you talk to them
Seems extremely obvious that both sides have been doing this for years on any platform they can
It's also normal for companies to do this, day in and day out, but nobody gets anywhere near as mad at them for using the same exact tactics to sell their shit that politicians use to get people to vote for them.
People act like there are massive conspiracies and Orwellian shadow groups on social media, and when asked to elaborate, they just describe basic, fundamental marketing 101 lol
I mean the article linked above that started this conversation is literally from The Federalist, a source which uses every underhanded tactic it has available to push its political opinion
The only difference is that on a platform like reddit you don't know whether someone is affiliated when you talk to them
It even breaks the rules of Reddit as the article states. It's not like an honest approach in a mall. More an undercover operation. Like having a debate where people pretend to be from different parties but are in reality only performing an act.
In general it's difficult to translate it to the 90s since the new tech makes it so much easier to be sly and dishonest.
I'm just saying that this kind of campaigning is normal, widespread across the political divide, entirely predictable and not some kind of deep-state/big tech conspiracy
Neither side has enough volunteers to push things up the algorithm by themselves. I'm sure Harris volunteers were posting articles and making comments on select subreddits like the article above outlines, and then the liberals of reddit voted those posts up
Trump simply isn't popular enough on this platform for similar efforts lead to the same results
T_D wasn't shut down because of their political beliefs lol they were shut down because they were engaging in coordinated efforts to manipulate voting, harassment, stalking, and doxxing.
It's not weird at all, the donald was shut down for repeatedly violating site rules
The fact that the donald was so big actually meant it was banned much later than would normally be the case, as has been admitted publicly by reddit management
The Trump campaign did not focus on Reddit because this place is an echo chamber, so they focused their efforts elsewhere. It's really not that difficult a concept.
Go find me a pro-Kamala program on any Spanish TV or radio network from a month ago.
Between the assassination attempts, efforts to silence his supporters, and forcing an unpopular candidate who ran a shitty campaign they shouldn't have been surprised that Trump supporters, independents, and unhappy Democrats showed up to the election and voted for him.
They have bots that blanket ban you. If you post even a single time to an unapproved subreddit, you're automatically banned from like 50+ subreddits, and half of them aren't even political. Then they wonder why Trump supporters won't talk to them on said subreddits.
As if conservatives don’t enjoy their echo chamber just as much. I got banned years ago for calling out people supporting a pedo. Seems to be a recurring theme with them.
I often play devils advocate and try and provide opposing arguments for political topics whether I agree with them or not. Ive done that a lot on both left and right leaning subreddits. Ive never been banned from a right leaning one but Ive been banned from many left ones, sometimes for literally asking a question
I got banned on thedonald back in the day for saying something negative about my fat ass governor Chris Christie at the time. Now Trump hates Christie as everyone should. So don't think the ban button wasn't illogically going both ways like your dad.
I got banned from subreddits I had never even visited for posting in other subreddits. I had posted in theDonald, and Ben Shapiro subs, and immediately got auto banned in others I hadn't even been to. If you want an echo chamber, that's how you get an echo chamber.
I just ask them why brat vibes was better than the economy people had under Trump. You get called names. Sometimes they ban you. No one tries intelligently answering the question. How was brat vibes and forgivable small business loans of 25k for minorities going to help inflation? Why did your party let 8 million illegal immigrants in only for Biden to do an Executive Order in June because of the upcoming election?
That's not the point I was making, the point was that these events rallied people together. The opposition wanted him dead and that's all that mattered.
yeah what a surprise someone looking at multiple felonies unless he changes the law by being president put effort into becoming the president instead of just going to prison lol. Plus he has to stay useful to the multiple pedophiles that he’s admitted to being friends with that have dirt on him so they don’t use it. It’s insane that trumps buddy Epstein got arrested while trump was president and yet nothing ever happened and trump couldn’t even keep him alive? So there’s two options for that outcome, either trump is so incompetent he couldn’t keep his best buddy alive long enough to figure out who the evil powerful pedos are, or he’s one of the powerful evil pedos and that’s why he let Epstein die on his watch. Either way I don’t support pedos so I don’t care for trump but I am impressed so many pedophile supporters came out to the polls this time lol. Trumps a puppet, he told us to get the vaccine, he has videos and pictures of him hanging out and admitting to being friends with MULTIPLE pedophiles and rapists. How did republicans go from respectable ppl who loved and feared god to the party that supports child rape?
What about the pedophiles among the Democrats though?
And can you tell me about Harris's vision and politics? Because for me it was hard to even find her anywhere that wasn't just some "you can realize your dream" kind of bullshit.
America chose. And they rather have the devil they know than the lying hyena they don't. And they prefer him by a landslide might I add. A Complete, unquestionable, legitimate democratic win on every level. Absolutely BTFO. The day Republicans went "7-1" against the Democrats. (Sorry Brazil).
If you are still believing that so many people would just vote their rights away or vote for someone so deplorable then you live in a different version of reality with completely different priorities to the majority of your country. Even hitler never got the majority of votes and trump got his legitimately.
In my opinion it makes sense that someone who actually goes around the country and talks to people would come away with an understanding and a plan for their problems.
And about 95% of all executive orders I have seen so far, are things that I would do in exactly the same way he did. He exudes conviction that I can usually only feel from someone who is serious. Watching him actually made me feel American.
Fuck I didn't buy into Andrew Tate's rethoric for even a second even though he said things that were absolutely right and motivating and resonating with disenfranchised men everywhere.
I was also very critical of Trump until I saw the election results. You can be certain you find some old comments of mine where I say he is an idiot for getting convicted 34 times and mumbling incoherent words about submarine batteries for 30min.
More than anything I was actually thinking that the independent 3rd parties would have a larger influx of voters this time around since all candidates seemed to be the most horrible of choices you could ever ask for.
I know it can be hard to accept but maybe, just maybe, this time he is absolutely serious and honest about everything he said.
Now it's your (America's) duty to make sure he doesn't falter and is held accountable. All eyes and expectations are on him. No one will vote Republican again if he doesn't follow through now.
The pedophiles on the democrats side should be exposed then castrated and/or shot as well. The only two parties that matter is the rich 1% and then everyone else, the divisive politics are just a distraction to keep us fighting over the stupidest shit while the elite take everything from us and we’re too stupid to even realize who our enemies truly are
The Joe Rogan interview was the final nail in the coffin for her. Trump went on and did an uncut three hour interview and Kamala refused to do the same thing because Joe wouldn't play by her rules. She just rejected the opportunity to appear on the most popular podcast and missed her chance to speak to millions of people.
Tbf, I can't imagine her speaking for more than an hour without falling to pieces. You can only give made up non-sense answers to questions for so long. Not that I've ever looked but I'd be surprised if Kambla has ever even done a single interview where the host challenged her and her responses
At least she knew she couldn't handle it I guess. Oof and imagine her in the midst of an actual unbiased fact checker, miss "we have no troops deployed anywhere"
I argued endlessly that such was what she needed to do (you can see some of my comments getting pushback pre-election).
What was weird is she, due to 3 leaders of her campaign, tried to channel Obama vibes of "Hope!" and "Change!" at the end. Without having a vigorous platform of hope and change for everyday folk. The first-time home buyer thing was all I can think of. And she got caught on hot mic pretty much saying they'd just found out toward the end her campaign didn't appeal to men and thought their 'ground game among men' needed to be improved.
The Dem situation is never improving until it offers a robust future for everyday men. It's just electorally impossible. My gut says some answers would have come in a wildly ambitious on-shoring (not friend-shoring or the current Pacific plan of "de-risking") plan for as much manufacturing as humanly possible. Just slash red tape and even be willing to be flexible on environmental regulations--a hard thing for Dems to get past their constituents, until America is filled with factories doing everything from processing rare earths and raw material to manufacturing ASML-style lithography machines under teams of scientists.
That and lots of affordable housing. Live is 100x better when your rent is $1000 less a month. Plots of land to build a house on for rural pops (or something similar) and a Homestead Act 2.0 would also not be a bad idea.
Get dudes some good-paying jobs that are easy to get and a place to live. That's step one of a dozen, though would take a full campaign being run on it so it actually had the mandate.
obamas platform of hope and change wouldn't work for a modern democrat.
they're the party people want hope and change from.
and obamas presidency was shit. failed obamacare, bombed brown people (never pulled out of the middle east) and a booming stock market which really just involved obama bailing out a bunch of billionaires and letting the trickle down economics do the work
She tried being Obama with absolutely no charisma or ability to handle the media. I'm being as kind as possible here, even with the most compliant press in modern times she still came of stifled, weak, and inexacting nearly all the time she was on camera. One of her own supporters even told the CNN panel that when she's ask serious questions "She goes to word salad city." You are not Obama Kamala. You are a California elitist that is pretending to be working class. People aren't buying it. Reddit will be picking up the pieces of this election at least until Summer next year.
I know. She wanted 1h that is highly edited. Like wtf are you doing miss? You can't spare 3h? And you want to become the president of the United States?
Funny because she had nothing but time on her hands for the past 4 years lol she made a handful of appearances and expected everyone to vote for her by default. She ate up the bs her campaign was telling her, like "oh you're a sure win, everyone hates that guy, no don't stoop to his level, only say what's on the script and you'll do fine" when really she never had a chance without heavy campaigning, which, aside from ads all over streaming networks, liberally leaning media, and reddit, she just did not do.
I saw people talking like this before the election and it's such a weird take.
Rogan is pretty clearly a right wing supporter despite trying to act non-partisan and his platform heavily favors hosting right leaning supporters. He is not a news channel. He is an entertainment platform that consistently spreads misinformation.
Why does Kamala get shit on for not wanting to appear on Rogans platform but the same people aren't calling out Trump for refusing the live TV debates. Rogan has 14 million+ listeners world wide. 67 million + tuned into the debate.
Rogans platform was never going to make a difference.
Rogan is left wing and a Bernie supporter. For the longest time he refused to have Trump on and didnt vote for him in the past. If there is anyone she could talk to and get traction with, its him. His audience is almost entirely male and many are the exact group of men the Democrats failed to reach.
But by all means, refuse to learn anything from this loss. I love seeing that.
Dude his interview on YouTube alone netted 50M+ views with Trump. I think claiming 14 Million listeners only is downplaying the effect alternative media has on the infosphere.
don't forget deleting the_donald, banning trumps twitter account right before the election, and running propaganda on all MSM channels 24/7 for a decade straight, BLM riots, and 2 years of lockdowns while billionaires make money in the stock market
Did I want trump? No, not at all. But when one sides entire rhetoric is “anyone who votes for trump is a racist fascist cult member and no I’m not taking any arguments” what the fuck do you expect?
It’s insane to me that they still don’t get it. I don’t think there’s ever been a time in history where saying “you’re wrong and stupid, you should do research and change your mind” has ever worked
Exactly. What some people don't understand is that while Kamala was certainly an awful candidate, that doesn't mean people will vote for Trump, they just stayed home and didn't vote.
2016-2020 - THE ELECTION WAS RIGGED DO A RECOUNT IT WASN'T FAIR RIGGED RIGGED RIGGED
2020-2024 - The election was won fair and square, and if you don't like it, go cry about it, you crybabies. What, upset the orange fascist lost? Well ha-ha-ha, guess you're on the wrong side of history.
2024-2028 - THE ELECTION WAS RIGGED DO A RECOUNT IT WASN'T FAIR RIGGED RIGGED RIGGED
Okay flip that 180 and you'll realize republicans did the exact same thing. This isn't some gotcha, this is just people becoming real anal and asinine about politics and its an everyone problem not just democrats or republicans.
Nobody broke into the country’s capitol, sent death threats to election officials, or slandered ballot counting machine companies repeatedly in 2016-2020 or now
You did break into the Capitol during the Kavanaugh hearing and stormed the White House during the BLM "peaceful protests". You send death threats to just about anyone, including children of election officials.
When Trump won in 2016, the internet wouldn't shut up about how he only won because the election was rigged and votes weren't properly counted and Russia and and and...
Then in 2020, Biden one, and suddenly NOBODY was claiming the election was rigged, purely because 'their guy' won this time.
Now, 2024, Trump won again, and we're back where we were 8 years ago, with people shrieking and crying that the election MUST have been rigged
Trump literally refuses to say he lost, Vance refuses to say he lost, Trump never called and conceded 2020 to Biden, and was complicit in an insurrection.
Sorry just doing my part stating ~~facts~~ obligatory "echo chamber" comment
They forced their way into the Capitol building, in an attempt to stop the Electoral College vote count. The fact that they didn't use guns doesn't change the fact of what they were trying to do and what they did do.
Do you honestly not understand the difference between doing that, and protesting near the capital? Be real.
Do you think that question is some sort of great inarguable truth...?
There's many reasons they would show up unarmed. For one, the sitting government was the one that they supported. Two, it was impromptu, with most people arriving there from a Trump rally which they couldn't have taken their guns to. Three, they were just regular people and knew that taking a gun into the Capitol or worse wielding one would likely result in their death. Four, they didn't need guns - they entered the building without them, and guns would've only actually been useful in a few isolated places, where point 3 would apply big time.
Is there any other reasoning behind your belief that it can't be described as an insurrection attempt? Or was the fact that they weren't using guns proof enough to convince you beyond any possible doubt?
In 2016 Hillary conceded the day after the election and he was sworn in in January with no push back from law makers or the public. The transition happened without a hitch.
There were investigations into Russian collusion which was for the most part a media circus but had some validity to it (Don Jr providing voter roles to Russians, Russian troll farms and online misinformation) a bipartisan committee admitted the Russians absolutely worked to influence the election.
Did they try to deny him the presidency? Did they try to over throw the election? Did they try to send in fake electors to cheat the system? No. Of course not. None of that.
Well. What did that cry baby do when he lost?
And this past month Kamala has conceded and the DNC has made no effort to call for the election to be overturned. Of course you'll find 3 idiots screaming but they're not of any importance.
The Inability to truly ignore the difference is why we don't deserve this country anymore. Let's watch it unfold and you'll clap and shout and blame Obama when we're sent off to camps.
No. I mentioned it in my other comment, while overblown by the media, the non partisan intelligence committee in 2018 agreed that Russia was actively trying to influence our elections and the Trump campaign accepted help. Senant Republicans admitted it.
Even then, it was all just noise. Was he removed from office? We're there violent protests due to it? Did the Democrats conjure up schemes to undermine the election process? No. None of that. But somehow the false equivalency between 2016 & 2020 somehow still needs to be argued. It's unbelievable the inability to see the difference between the 2 is so staggering it's not a fair comparison. It's not apples to oranges it's apples to F16 Jet Fighters.
Is Kamala going to submit 7 fraudulent slates of electors to try to overturn the results of the election, and use a riot of her supporters to delay the certification of the vote?
you mean just like the democrats rioted in 2016, set fire to the church of the presidents, smashed storefront windows, cop cars, and then had to evacuate the first family to the nuclear bunker? all in the name of "resistance" when he won the first time
Convinced the country their president was a treasonous foreign agent and hamstrung his administrations foreign policy/diplomacy pushed politics into hyper-partisanship.
That certainly doesn't sound nearly as treasonous as direct physical action to influence / stop the transfer of power, and more in line with other republican strategies such as "want to import illegal immigrants for their votes" or "engaged in wide spread voter fraud"
Humor is like a frog, you can dissect it to understand it but you kill it in the process
It’s funny because I said it is and it makes me laugh, the word “hypocrisy” never crossed my mind
Have you never laughed at something just for the sake of it? Do you always need to find the root cause of what’s funny? Or only when you’re being an obtuse weirdo who feels the need to police what others find funny on the internet (but only when you disagree with them)?
I mean.... Of course there is an asymmetry, it's a battle of the lower-class (populism) vs the middle-class (elitism). To oversimplify an example: You can't expect the tobacco farmers to revolt with the same means as the tobacco lobbies...
I don't know why you'd make fun of Trump voters for being "poor" and "uneducated" but then also act shocked when they use the political means of the poor and the uneducated. The peasants "revolts with pitchforks", the duke of Cornwallis "mutters something in the ear of the king". The end is the same, they want to defend their interest, but the means are different.
What is up with this victim complex, who are all of these leftists saying that? All I ever hear is that it's sad that that's the case and it speaks volumes about his campaign that you can literally say and do the most heinous shit possible but because poor people are that desperate for a break they're honestly willing to let him do everything he wants as long as he fixes the economy. Honestly, all I ever hear is people voting for Trump and the same sentence is repeated over and over: "I don't agree with his viewpoints but he's going to reduce inflation."
As if the government directly controlled interest rates and quantitative easing.
I don't have a horse in the race, but seeing how Trump could do/say anything without anyone batting an eye has been sickening. It was the most obvious contrast between a classic politician (rightfully an unpopular thing) and a complete degenerate. We know Trump lies as easily as he breathes and yet people are still convinced...
At least Democrats acknowledged it was our stupid voters, not the stupid voters listening to a con man saying it was rigged and stolen. Those same stupid voters who were ready to scream stolen election are all completely fine with this election being incredible fair.
They prefwr the kind of riots where they get to loot stores and beat up innocents, the capitol is too dangerous for them since there are people who would shoot back over there
Easier to loot stores and attack communities where they can loot houses and beat up the elderly
No but marching together with several thousand protesters into the Capitol to disrupt a hearing of a guy they don't like. That's what she already did with Kavanaugh
Because it was heavily investigated and the only issues ever came from republicans. Same this time. Very convenient that bomb threats were called in and ballot boxes were vandalised in left leaning areas huh? Odd how that never seems to happen to right leaning areas. Must be the dems running election interference
Well if, hypothetically, the dems had undercover people to make the threats and sabotage their own ballot boxes, to make people think “Look what the right are doing”
What an absolutely wild theory. Dems are going to sabotage their own areas to give trump an edge just so they can turn around and point the finger at republicans? the mental gymnastics you guys come up with honestly lol
And Trump was humored with plenty of recounts, which is part of our electoral process. Why wouldn't the dems pursue the same?
Unless the dems pull their own Jan 6, I see nothing wrong with how they're approaching this. Well, aside from the deranged fuckers suggesting Biden take "official acts" and other such nonsense.
I don't think there's any dissonance between winning a popular vote and being a fascist. The 2 most prominent fascists both genuinely won the popular vote at some point in their careers.
Hitler never won an election, he got like 37% of the vote in the last fair election, it wasn't until the Nazis were making people vote in public and double checking all the ballots that he started to win with 98%.
It's just that in the Weimar Republic the government was so entirely dysfunctional that 37% was enough to ensure that literally nothing got done, because the Communists had 14% of the vote.
The Nazis and Commies didn't agree on much, but they did agree that Democracy was bad, so they were both going to vote against any legislation in the Reichstag on general principal, regardless of what the legislation was.
This essentially forced the President to rule by decree as a dictator, because if he didn't the country wouldn't work, and this concentration of power is what allowed Hitler to coup the government from the inside.
Hitler never won an election, he got like 37% of the vote in the last fair election
This is why everyone is condescending to you. Because you say mind-numbingly stupid shit with reckless disregard to how the world works outside of your bubble.
I'll give you a hint -- the German political system in the 1930s is not the same as the American two-party system of 2024.
The most recent Germany election was won with 25 of the vote.
I don't disagree with the rest of your post. Unlike the last time I told a redditor that Hitler won the election. That Redditor was claiming that Hitler was unpopular in 1930s Germany and the fact he "only" got 37% proved how "unpopular" he was. This highly regarded Redditor then told me how they had a degree in modern history from Chicago University and I should therefore listen to such an intellectual superior such as themselves. Did I mention that I fucking hate Redditors?
I think that a lot of people ignore that his goons beat shit out of his opposition and killed some of them. Also that Germany at that time was on verge of collapse. I'm not defending Germans, but first time he lost, second time he used force to silence his opposition.
I don’t blame Trump. It’s precisely that so many people voted for him that is the problem. This country is full of fucking hateful morons. The worst kind of moron, and apparently the most prevalent kind.
I mean r/ conservative is somewhat of an echo chamber itself. You can’t post there without being flaired, and the only way to get flaired is to join their discord and talk to mods to give you one, they scan your post history to see if you are indeed a conservative before they give it to you. In other words you’d have to be pretty devoted. Otherwise you can’t post. Keeps out the lefties.
Eh, I gotta disagree with you in the 4chan subreddit. Downvotes might not be visible, but they still send people down the list I think. Also, people who would browse this ‘probobly’ would be more likely to be from 4chan or visit there frequently at some point. And I would consider 4chan very right leaning overall. I’ve definitely passed up on opinions in this sub before because I know people here wouldn’t agree, no point wasting the time typing it all up.
That term has really gotten out of hand. Reddit is technically set up that way, though, that’s why there are subreddits by interest. It’s just unfortunate the ones that are supposed to be broadly accessible to everyone like News, world news, politics, do find themselves skewed and also mod skewed. I’d rather it be a shitshow cesspool of opposing sides at times as long as it doesn’t devolve it video game chat threats of violence and slur calling. I definitely don’t want it to be algorithmically curated, but it all seems set up that way to feed the dopamine rage machine,
No but he meants that if it comes forward and names itself "the echo chamber of X", you can't really act surprised.
I don't go to r / catholic to talk sht about the pope, but if I went to r/ religion and got banned for discussing [unpopular creed] (i dunno who reddit hates nowadays, Judaism or Islam), that's a problem.

Holy fuck. An actual dedicated propaganda unit directly from within the White House. It's plainly written, in plain sight. This shit should be illegal.
I was a bit skeptical reading this, considering reddit_lies is very right wing and therefore has a clear bias, but the evidence really does speak for itself. Thanks!
I mean r/ conservative is somewhat of an echo chamber itself.
I love how it's only somewhat of an echo chamber. That's literally the most echo chamberist of echo chambers you can create on reddit.
People see Reddit as leaning left 1. because it's has the closest thing to freedom of speech compared to all the other platforms and majority of the educated world leans left (i.e. "leftism" is the the default for the western world), and 2. No algorithms to influence your interests or content you see. So yeah sure it can be seen as an echo chamber the same way anything becomes one when people of similar mind congregate, but that exists in other platforms too, you just see the content you engage with the most, so you're less likely to call them echo chambers if you're not seeing the side that challenges your views as often.
As for conservatives getting banned on reddit? They get banned because they refuse to engage in good faith, not because they're conservatives
Nah, they get banned in many cases for their opinions being unwelcome there. Many subs will even auto ban users if they ever commented on a post in undesirable subs.
Aside from that, "bad faith" is usually a accusation thrown at people without merrit, as it's both unprovable and unfalsifiable.
Some people do argue in bad faith, but you cannot know which so so you should stop being lazy and engage with their arguments instead of their imagined motivation
I tired of this country and its ceaseless chaos. Other countries tune in on our shit every week because we are a shitshow. Always something interesting going on over the pond at the USA. Sometimes I feel like I would be a lot more relaxed in somewhere far removed from here and it’s endless bickering. Grass is greener I suppose. But I can’t help but feel I would be less stressed.
Conservative sub has to do all that because I guarantee you psycho Reddit leftists browse it more than actual conservatives. It’d just be another conservative hate circle jerk like every other subreddit
Still funny when they make a post about free speech being banned on social media sites then have the thread be flaired users only. Why complain about free speech when you guys ban anyone with a leftist opinion?
It's true. They brigade the shit out of the conservative sub. Most of their popular posts are at 56% upvotes because of the downvotes the sub attracts. It's fucking crazy. No other subreddit on here has such a low ratio.
You dont think it has to be like that because liberals with no life keeps brigading the sub, maybe? Cus getting flaired sounds extremely complicated. So complicated, that they wouldnt do it if they didnt have to.
And then it also becomes an echo chamber. Just like all the main subs, especially R/politics (although R/politics is much worse).
YES you must change the name of your elementary school, it was named after a man who once traded with someone who owned slaves
NO I will not change the name of my political party whose founding initiative was the mass displacement and ethnic cleansing of the peaceful tribes of the American Southeast that had begun to adapt and integrate into modern civilization, its name is of no consequence
The National Republicans split from the (Democratic) Republicans. It wasn't well-organized previously because until Andrew Jackson, the Trump of his day, everyone was a (Jefferson) Republican. (It's telling that the Democrats call the period of one-party rule, from the collapse of the Federalists to the organization of the NatRepubs, the Era of Good Feelings.) Martin van Buren organized the pro-Jackson wing, overcame Henry Clay, and then Clay and the rest organized the National Republicans as a splinter group who lasted only a few years before dissolving into the Whigs (Clay), or rejoining the Democrats (John C. Calhoun).
Basically the democrats were the new feds and had a lot of lost time to make up for in sketchy fed shit, with the Indian Removal Act at front and center stage
Exactly. And even though it's worse with politics, they behave like this in other type of conversations too. The other day I made a comment in agreement to someone and some random neckbeard came in with this attitude of "how did you not know this?".
I thought to myself this is peak Reddit: trying to have a conversation with someone (in agreement) and then being "proven wrong" over something you didn't even say.
It's the aggressive "intellectualism" without there being any intelligence present. The "I will show him" crowd. It's all the times they force the group's opinion (muh opvotes) down someone's throat without there being any concern for it actually being true. Because ultimately, even if it's not true, the group will just downvote, ban and call you a nazi until you leave.
Someone else called these people crybullies yesterday and it fits really well.
Apparently I did a certain "thing" and am puzzled as to what that "thing" could be. Its a thing without a concrete name, a thing without identity but apparently it is dangerous and/or poisonous.
The downside is that this also cuts them off from convincing others of their ideology. Usually, socialists don’t do this until they have power and can purge without consequence. But they just lost a major election so it’s weird to turn against, for example, the fastest growing demographic in the US (Latinos)
Sticking your fingers in your ears & making noises to ignore something was annoying 3 decades ago on the playground, as a grown adult it’s just kinda sad.
This is so true, so many illiterate self proclaimed geniuses that can't even parse a 3 word sentence correctly just jump straight to "you must be an idiot because you disagree" with their arrogant and obviously infallible logic and moral sense.
Same happens with a lot of auth-leaning socialists as well. It was not an extreme right movement, but people have 1D brains for politics and they tend to label opponents as being in the opposite end of their lame axis while they're on the good one.
As a libertarian, I would not like fascism, but I still get called one by woke regards just because I'm not a woke regard. Which is ok. I don't mind if I'm called a nazi or fascist or twigbundle by a twigbundle who can't tell better; at least they're seething and I'm not, and I do reckon out of the governments leftgards want, whether a woke transbian dictatorship or a commie hellscape, I'd rather take the nazis any day, even if they'd tax and limit me (less).
I myself am libertarian but I don't use the term much anymore because so many people now (like yourself) use it as a shield while they unquestioningly repeat every MAGA talking point. The Dave Smith form of """"”"""libertarianism"""""""""".
Not even American, so I couldn't have voted for Trump, nor I agree with all of his policies such as abortion (inside your body, you're the host; you host under host's rules), anything environmental, giving money and support to Israel (though I reckon the USA is a vassal state so both candidates just have to), or keeping sanctions and raising pressure on Iran and other countries. (I do think Musk's department of waste is a good thing and I hope it succeeds and sets a trend of calling out every regarded waste of tax money worldwide to help prevent build a stupid bridge, pass another stupid EU law (stares at GDPR and Germans' idiocy in general), call for the end of useles chambers, politician expenses, etc. but above all else, I'd like people not to be paid not to work so much and no DEI/ESG scams.) Now let's see if he's really non-interventionist outside of the USA and doesn't start WW3 because Harris looked like she wanted to push for a WW with Russia (and strengthen our alliance between Europe and US: US pitches in weapons sales, and we pitch in the deaths, yay.)
There was a bipartisan bill on the table to better enforce immigration laws (the ones that are the biggest issue in the country right now) and Trump told the Republicans to shut it down and you all cheered when they did. You don't care about the border. You care about virtue signaling about the border.
The bill which permitted almost two million illegal immigrants before kicking in? The one which strengthened protections for both legal and illegal immigrants? Which granted faster processing for asylum seekers? Which guaranteed asylum for unaccompanied minors? Which permitted tens of thousands of Afghan residents? Gee, I wonder why people didn’t like it. That Bill was an IQ test and you failed.
You realize the biggest problem right now isn't people walking over the border illegally, but LEGALLY using the broken asylum process to stay here for years after applying for asylum and waiting for their case to be adjudicated? It's a broken system that is being used as an easy path to living in the US. It's what everybody does now. The goal of that bill was to make progress on fixing that process, including allowing a total shutdown of new asylum seekers if encounters meet a threshold and increasing the number of judges so they can process the massive backlog of cases.
You do not give a single shit about the border which is why you don't even see a problem with letting the asylum process be abused like this, even though it allows loads of people to stay in the US who otherwise would be deported and they aren't even breaking the law while doing so.
It didn't get blocked for being a bad bill, and I'm sorry you're so easily sold by somebody else's talking points. Trump absolutely killed the bill because he wants to be the one who solves the border issues. The bill had bipartisan support for a reason.
You realize the biggest problem right now isn’t people walking over the border illegally, but LEGALLY using the broken asylum process to stay here for years after applying for asylum and waiting for their case to be adjudicated?
73% of applications are accepted so that’s obviously untrue. The vast majority of applicants are given public support and allowed to stay. Further, of the more than eight million confirmed border interceptions during Biden’s tenure (and an estimated 12-20 million in total), only 1.6 million lodged asylum applications. The VAST majority are unaccounted for.
You’re making up what the bill would have done. I suppose because that’s what you read on Reddit. We don’t want faster processing. We want less irregular immigration. Period.
so they tried to pretend to care about the border a months before an election by creating a weak bill that granted amnesty to those claiming to seek asylum when they had 3 years not to wave hoards of illegals in to pad their voter base and work their plantations for cheap labor
You mean the bill that allowed for over a illegal entries a year by redefining what counts as illegal? We get more border patrol agents but they are kneecapped in their ability to do their job.
Because you sound hysterical. Trump wasn’t a Nazi fascist space Jew the last time and he’s not a Nazi fascist space Jew this time. Calm your tits. Touch some grass. Put down the phone. Delete Reddit. Reconnect with reality. Etc. You people have inoculated at least half the population against your brand of racism and hate, and now you’re wondering why they don’t listen to you. You are why.
Where did I say that Trump is a Nazi fascist space Jew? How much time do you spend inventing characters to attack in your head before projecting it out into the world? I'm sure it makes your worldview easier when you imagine everybody you don't like as a screaming purple haired nonbinary person.
I 100% believe what you say, you believe in it 100%. As for whether that is truth, that doesn't matter to people like you, otherwise the reddit echochamber's wouldn't be so scared to have any dissenting voices.
Also, the comment above was speaking of the condescending tone leftist take to others that are not on their side. Just like your comment both times.
Its why trump won, its why everyone hates you now.
The right think they're victims because the left are all condescending.
The left think they're victims because the right are incapable of using a non-hostile tone.
Neither side is engaging in civil conversation, don't take the moral high-ground when the entire thing has become polarized and vitriolic because of social media algorithms.
The right is just more effective at shutting down dissent, and supporting the Party. The left shuts down dissent but they do it in support of the candidate. Trump on the other hand is the most effective at channeling cancel culture and making echo chambers in the World.
Just Look at the conservative sub, they delete almost all the comments bc they dont allign with the Party line. You also get downvoted into oblivion here if you disagree.
Hmm no Trump won because the people who run the Democrat party are complicit and wanted tax cuts for themselves, and as a result, major swaths of the country are going politically unrepresented and alienated by mainstream politics. Not because someone said something you disagree with on Reddit.
Trump won because your Democrat party handed the victory over on a silver platter and the majority of your citizens are clueless misinformed retards. The average normie isn't being kept up at night in angry tears over the thought of smug leftists on reddit lmao
I was going to say, I wouldn't be surprised if this was specifically to get people to 'confess' so they could just be insta-banned for having the wrong opinion.
Because it’s victimposting. There has been a notable decrease in people defending Trump now that he says he’s actually going to do what he campaigned on, people here just want to whine about Reddit as usual.
People embrace the idea of Trump but fail to see the consequences of embracing extreme rhetoric without actionable solutions. While the frustrations of being human are valid, the populist approach often undermines the necessary reforms by focusing on divisive language and quick fixes rather than long-term, meaningful change. It’s this lack of nuanced understanding that limits the effectiveness of addressing systemic issues.
Mods have become so lazy, "I'm locking this thread because you can't behave" just means, "I'm too lazy to do this only thing I have going in my life because I'd rather beat off and smoke weed for another 9 hours."
Sometimes all it takes is a single comment containing a hecking wrong think in a comment chain of 50+ comments to make the jannies bring out the mop and ya'll the entire chain. It's hilarious how sensitive they are.
People should be able to have serious discussion about politics without being banned. True a lot of leftist ideas get downvoted to hell here but they are still welcome to post here.
Also this is the only subreddit I care to moderate and don't care what other subreddits people are banned from, that's between the owners of those subs and the admins of this site.
Down/upvotes are a huge issue when you share opinions. Sharing an opinion you know is going to get massively downvoted is actually terrible if you want to have any hope of spreading your ideas because people will read your opinion after seeing it's incredibly unpopular and therefore heavily biasing them to thinking it's wrong before even reading it.
I posted on Asmongold to criticize that dipshit and got immediately banned from pics lol they told me I had to delete all my posts from there and copy/paste a sentence that was something to the effect "I have deleted all my posts and will not participate in hate subreddits ever again"
Reddit moderators are the biggest losers on the planet.
Reddit is a fucking joke , whoever comes oj this platform to discuss politics in fair environment is dumb as fuck , I only come here for the funny texts and memes and to rage bait without getting banned.
The Reddit hive mind simply cannot comprehend that they’ve rabidly and neurotically banned people off their platform for 8+ years now and is now surprised that they’re left alone.
I was banned from r/ pics because, I was a member of "bad faith" subreddit.
I like how they don't let an hour pass on that sub without shitposting about trump but if you say something slightly right wing you get banned by power hungry mods.
Leftist believing their massive echo chambers are natural and have nothing to do with the mods banning any tiny dissending opinion, would be even more pathetic
Has always been just a rumor spread by you guys without evidence. Everyone can take a look at the conservative sub and see that it's filled with leftist brigaders.
Prone to censor? Sure. But it's far from the most censor prone. Many subs will ban you from participating in subs like walkaway. AFAIK, conservative doesn't ban you for mere participating.
They are pretty damn sensitive and I'm sure I was shadow banned. TBH, I only hang-out in a now disbanded lets play reddit cause everything else is pretty anti discussion. Like NO ONE talks about the tariffs in the con sub its just hug box.
It’s wild how many subs that aren’t even about politics will straight up ban you for even participating in other subs. It should really be a site wide rule that you can’t be banned from a sub for your conduct in other subs.
I was banned off pics because I made a comment on the asmongold subreddit. Got a message saying I need to delete my comment over there then message the mods to be unbanned. 1984 is about the modern day left.
Oh yeah cause that makes perfect sense, the people wanting to argue with trumpers are the same people banning them from subreddits and don't forget everyone on reddit is the exact same person as well.
I’m unironically a Trump hater but coming to Reddit for political takes is fucking stupid. This site has such an awful hive mind, it’s not even enjoyable being on here most of the time
“I keep coming to the land of the Gaylords and over offended saddos and hoping to see the campaign winners who are celebrating whooping my team on here giving me the in depth analysis I require.” No. They are out touching grass. Also no one wants to have a real convo. It’s a vote. They voted more, their dude won, doesn’t matter the policies. Should’ve voted more. Thems the rules
People complain about the algorithmic filter bubbles on other sites but the deliberate, hand enforced echo chambers are like 1000x worse and gets very little attention.
An algorithm is just math, but straight up injecting your biases into others' newsfeeds is just psychotic.
The climate on Reddit is very affected by the downvote option. It's a destructive bully sensation in the air on this site that is unique since the downvote button is unique.
Everyone's worried about misinformation spreading around the internet, but that crap is always there. The echo chambers though, they're like the lead paint of the internet. It's a huge, unseen problem that affects way more than you think and it's probably affecting you as well without you even knowing about it.
Every sub is an echo chamber aside from circlejerk ones mostly. People have insane opinions and tbh, letting everyone be able to voice them anonymously may have been a mistake.
Professional-Scar136@reddit
Funny how this is the only stronghold on reddit with a decent different opinion from all of reddit, you all might not actually use 4chan but you are alright
Bright_Beat_5981@reddit
The Critical drinker sub is a fun stronghold. Asmongold another.
Most other subs are just completely insane. The energy is that passive agressive female energy that surrounds Cnn and The View.
Dokterclaw@reddit
If you think the Asmongold sub is full of reasonable, normal people, you have no gauge of what insanity is.
mrsmunsonbarnes@reddit
Found the person who's never felt the touch of a woman!
XFX_Samsung@reddit
Plenty of conservative echochamber subs if you're in to that. If not, go on Twitter and be with your people?
Free-Design-8329@reddit
Every fucking time
DinosaurTendies@reddit
People are free to talk about politics here and won't be banned. Leftists will sometimes get downvoted to hell but they are still welcome to voice their opinion.
Free-Design-8329@reddit
I’m convinced most of them are shills tbh
twofacetoo@reddit
This is why I like the 4chan subs, they have what I can only call a sense of 'positive nihilism'. Like, yeah shit's fucked, but it's not fucked where I am, so it's kinda funny really.
Free-Design-8329@reddit
4chan subs are in a way how the internet used to be without virtue signaling woke morons everywhere
Memeing, shitposting, trolling and irreverent humor. The commercialized internet is cringe and Redditors don’t know how to be funny because they grew up in a bubble of cringe humor
RawhideW92@reddit
There are a few conservative subs and pcm is a good one as well
Hanonari@reddit
It's boring and repetitive asf, also full of zoomers
Theroux721@reddit
meme of all four quadrants with big-eyed shocked wojaks looking at some fake shock article O_O
placeholder-123@reddit
Yeah and they are way less fun and chill than people here. The fact that they're all rabidly pro-Israel doesn't help either
Brilliant-Mountain57@reddit
It says alot when someone points out that this sub isn't an echochamber and your first response is to immediately try to guide him into conservative subs. Stay in your bubble bro nobody wants to join you.
RawhideW92@reddit
Found the soy boy
yeah_youbet@reddit
PCM has had a grand total of 3 jokes being repeated over and over for like 5 years.
AutoJannietator@reddit
They ban you for saying "Oy vey"
ThirstyOutward@reddit
It's just a different echo chamber, not sure how that's better
Brilliant-Mountain57@reddit
its right leaning but leftist discussion is active and prevalent and it isn't necessarily a downvote if left sub either. As long as you make legitimately good points then you'll be respected and you can clown on conservatives.
ThirstyOutward@reddit
I get downvoted all the time in here for saying anything anti-trump lmao
I'm downvoted now for saying its an echo chamber.
But its totally not...
Brilliant-Mountain57@reddit
I posted 2 comments today that were both blatantly anti-rightoid and they both went positive. Skill issue.
Free-Design-8329@reddit
Nah this place gets shilled by libcucks too
It’s nothing like the r politics echo chamber. That shit felt beyond artificial
Bright_Beat_5981@reddit
https://thefederalist.com/2024/10/29/busted-the-inside-story-of-how-the-kamala-harris-campaign-manipulates-reddit-and-breaks-the-rules-to-control-the-platform/
It was obvious as fuck
FunLovinMonotreme@reddit
You're describing a normal social media campaign
Bright_Beat_5981@reddit
Beyond artificial as the person I responded to wrote
FunLovinMonotreme@reddit
It's not artificial for a group of people to organise and try and influence a social media platform
The process you described isn't any different to a group of volunteers in the 90s getting marching orders from the Bush snr/Clinton campaign on how to approach people in a mall. The only difference is that on a platform like reddit you don't know whether someone is affiliated when you talk to them
Seems extremely obvious that both sides have been doing this for years on any platform they can
yeah_youbet@reddit
It's also normal for companies to do this, day in and day out, but nobody gets anywhere near as mad at them for using the same exact tactics to sell their shit that politicians use to get people to vote for them.
People act like there are massive conspiracies and Orwellian shadow groups on social media, and when asked to elaborate, they just describe basic, fundamental marketing 101 lol
FunLovinMonotreme@reddit
Exactly
I mean the article linked above that started this conversation is literally from The Federalist, a source which uses every underhanded tactic it has available to push its political opinion
Bright_Beat_5981@reddit
It even breaks the rules of Reddit as the article states. It's not like an honest approach in a mall. More an undercover operation. Like having a debate where people pretend to be from different parties but are in reality only performing an act.
In general it's difficult to translate it to the 90s since the new tech makes it so much easier to be sly and dishonest.
FunLovinMonotreme@reddit
I agree that it's a bad development
I'm just saying that this kind of campaigning is normal, widespread across the political divide, entirely predictable and not some kind of deep-state/big tech conspiracy
arbiter12@reddit
Honestly, try to find pro-trump reddit post from a month ago.
FunLovinMonotreme@reddit
Neither side has enough volunteers to push things up the algorithm by themselves. I'm sure Harris volunteers were posting articles and making comments on select subreddits like the article above outlines, and then the liberals of reddit voted those posts up
Trump simply isn't popular enough on this platform for similar efforts lead to the same results
LegLampFragile@reddit
And yet they shut down the_donald. Weird huh?
yeah_youbet@reddit
T_D wasn't shut down because of their political beliefs lol they were shut down because they were engaging in coordinated efforts to manipulate voting, harassment, stalking, and doxxing.
FunLovinMonotreme@reddit
It's not weird at all, the donald was shut down for repeatedly violating site rules
The fact that the donald was so big actually meant it was banned much later than would normally be the case, as has been admitted publicly by reddit management
yeah_youbet@reddit
The Trump campaign did not focus on Reddit because this place is an echo chamber, so they focused their efforts elsewhere. It's really not that difficult a concept.
Go find me a pro-Kamala program on any Spanish TV or radio network from a month ago.
LoveYourKitty@reddit
I know, its hilarious I get chastised in other subs for posting here but literally this is the only sub left that’s even remotely like old Reddit.
ProstheTec@reddit
R/self has been based lately.
PooeyPatoeei@reddit
The lack of self reflection is astounding in these subreddits.
SharkMilk44@reddit
Between the assassination attempts, efforts to silence his supporters, and forcing an unpopular candidate who ran a shitty campaign they shouldn't have been surprised that Trump supporters, independents, and unhappy Democrats showed up to the election and voted for him.
Notsozander@reddit
I’m banned on all of them for just stating facts, whatever. Let them kumbaya to death until they actually hate each other
HighDegree@reddit
They have bots that blanket ban you. If you post even a single time to an unapproved subreddit, you're automatically banned from like 50+ subreddits, and half of them aren't even political. Then they wonder why Trump supporters won't talk to them on said subreddits.
Cube_root_of_one@reddit
As if conservatives don’t enjoy their echo chamber just as much. I got banned years ago for calling out people supporting a pedo. Seems to be a recurring theme with them.
regman231@reddit
I often play devils advocate and try and provide opposing arguments for political topics whether I agree with them or not. Ive done that a lot on both left and right leaning subreddits. Ive never been banned from a right leaning one but Ive been banned from many left ones, sometimes for literally asking a question
Dokterclaw@reddit
This is a joke, right? R/conservative is one of the worst Echo chambers on the site.
OliverMonster1@reddit
All those users and mods of those subs wake up everyday knowing Trump won. They can't block that.
Moses_On_A_Motorbike@reddit
Their walls are closing in
dontsearchupligma@reddit

stringerbbell@reddit
I got banned on thedonald back in the day for saying something negative about my fat ass governor Chris Christie at the time. Now Trump hates Christie as everyone should. So don't think the ban button wasn't illogically going both ways like your dad.
cumlordmasterfuckbut@reddit
Y-...yeah! It's totally equal and proportionate
stringerbbell@reddit
Did your dad finally commit to the other side? Good for him.
Ffkratom15@reddit
Oh well in that case reddit is totally unbiased and partisan
cumlordmasterfuckbut@reddit
I got banned from the Ukrain sub in literally about 2 minutes
Le3mine@reddit
"i don't like the circle jerk" said the guy jerking the circle.
LoveYourKitty@reddit
They already hate eachother lol
purdinpopo@reddit
I got banned from subreddits I had never even visited for posting in other subreddits. I had posted in theDonald, and Ben Shapiro subs, and immediately got auto banned in others I hadn't even been to. If you want an echo chamber, that's how you get an echo chamber.
OliverMonster1@reddit
I just ask them why brat vibes was better than the economy people had under Trump. You get called names. Sometimes they ban you. No one tries intelligently answering the question. How was brat vibes and forgivable small business loans of 25k for minorities going to help inflation? Why did your party let 8 million illegal immigrants in only for Biden to do an Executive Order in June because of the upcoming election?

Weren't both assassinations perpetrated by registered republicans?
SharkMilk44@reddit
That's not the point I was making, the point was that these events rallied people together. The opposition wanted him dead and that's all that mattered.
cosplay-degenerate@reddit
This is what baffles me the most. At least Trump
striker_p55@reddit
yeah what a surprise someone looking at multiple felonies unless he changes the law by being president put effort into becoming the president instead of just going to prison lol. How did republicans go from respectable ppl who loved and feared god to the party that supports child rape?
cosplay-degenerate@reddit
No one will vote Republican again if he doesn't follow through now.
striker_p55@reddit
The pedophiles on the democrats side should be exposed then castrated and/or shot as well. The only two parties that matter is the rich 1% and then everyone else, the divisive politics are just a distraction to keep us fighting over the stupidest shit while the elite take everything from us and we’re too stupid to even realize who our enemies truly are

SharkMilk44@reddit
The Joe Rogan interview was the final nail in the coffin for her. Trump went on and did an uncut three hour interview and Kamala refused to do the same thing because Joe wouldn't play by her rules. She just rejected the opportunity to appear on the most popular podcast and missed her chance to speak to millions of people.
cumlordmasterfuckbut@reddit
Tbf, I can't imagine her speaking for more than an hour without falling to pieces. You can only give made up non-sense answers to questions for so long. Not that I've ever looked but I'd be surprised if Kambla has ever even done a single interview where the host challenged her and her responses
At least she knew she couldn't handle it I guess. Oof and imagine her in the midst of an actual unbiased fact checker, miss "we have no troops deployed anywhere"
Rachel_from_Jita@reddit
InfamousService2723@reddit
obamas platform of hope and change wouldn't work for a modern democrat.
they're the party people want hope and change from.
and obamas presidency was shit. failed obamacare, bombed brown people (never pulled out of the middle east) and a booming stock market which really just involved obama bailing out a bunch of billionaires and letting the trickle down economics do the work
OliverMonster1@reddit
She tried being Obama with absolutely no charisma or ability to handle the media. I'm being as kind as possible here, even with the most compliant press in modern times she still came of stifled, weak, and inexacting nearly all the time she was on camera. One of her own supporters even told the CNN panel that when she's ask serious questions "She goes to word salad city." You are not Obama Kamala. You are a California elitist that is pretending to be working class. People aren't buying it. Reddit will be picking up the pieces of this election at least until Summer next year.
SINGULARITY1312@reddit
I agree with everything you’ve said, but the fact that everything you said about her is true about trump objectively to a larger degree says something
cosplay-degenerate@reddit
I know. She wanted 1h that is highly edited. Like wtf are you doing miss? You can't spare 3h? And you want to become the president of the United States?
Rymanjan@reddit
Funny because she had nothing but time on her hands for the past 4 years lol she made a handful of appearances and expected everyone to vote for her by default. She ate up the bs her campaign was telling her, like "oh you're a sure win, everyone hates that guy, no don't stoop to his level, only say what's on the script and you'll do fine" when really she never had a chance without heavy campaigning, which, aside from ads all over streaming networks, liberally leaning media, and reddit, she just did not do.
StockCat7738@reddit
Trump couldn’t spare 3 hours either. He just didn’t give a shit that he had a crowd of people waiting for him in another state.
king_of_the_potato_p@reddit
The most popular anything last I knew.
Yeah, huge opportunity miss.
LEDDITmodsARElosers@reddit
her longest interview was 21 mins and she was getting drunk everyday lol
Nagemasu@reddit
I saw people talking like this before the election and it's such a weird take.
Rogan is pretty clearly a right wing supporter despite trying to act non-partisan and his platform heavily favors hosting right leaning supporters. He is not a news channel. He is an entertainment platform that consistently spreads misinformation.
Why does Kamala get shit on for not wanting to appear on Rogans platform but the same people aren't calling out Trump for refusing the live TV debates. Rogan has 14 million+ listeners world wide. 67 million + tuned into the debate.
Rogans platform was never going to make a difference.
DraconianDebate@reddit
Rogan is left wing and a Bernie supporter. For the longest time he refused to have Trump on and didnt vote for him in the past. If there is anyone she could talk to and get traction with, its him. His audience is almost entirely male and many are the exact group of men the Democrats failed to reach.
But by all means, refuse to learn anything from this loss. I love seeing that.
KStang086@reddit
Dude his interview on YouTube alone netted 50M+ views with Trump. I think claiming 14 Million listeners only is downplaying the effect alternative media has on the infosphere.

inahst@reddit
Did I want trump? No, not at all. But when one sides entire rhetoric is “anyone who votes for trump is a racist fascist cult member and no I’m not taking any arguments” what the fuck do you expect?
It’s insane to me that they still don’t get it. I don’t think there’s ever been a time in history where saying “you’re wrong and stupid, you should do research and change your mind” has ever worked
SharkMilk44@reddit
The bar was practically on the ground and Democrats failed to step over it.
MrAbomidable@reddit
Unhappy democrats didn't vote for him, they just stayed home. Trump LOST like 3-4 million votes from 2020.
OttoVonGarfield@reddit
Exactly. What some people don't understand is that while Kamala was certainly an awful candidate, that doesn't mean people will vote for Trump, they just stayed home and didn't vote.
king_of_the_potato_p@reddit
Check the numbers again.
The other person mistakenly compared a final vote tally to the when they called it vote tally.
As is right now he is up 2.1mil votes over 2020s total.
king_of_the_potato_p@reddit
You might want to check again, final 2020 was 74.2mil, as is right now hes at 76.3mil.
Thats GAINING 2.1mil.
otteHC@reddit
People keep talking that Trump lost votes, yet nobody actually fact check this, even though it's 2 clicks.
Trump received 74 223 975 votes in 2020.
And 76 386 169 in 2024.
And votes are still finishing being counted if I'm not wrong.

Okay flip that 180 and you'll realize republicans did the exact same thing. This isn't some gotcha, this is just people becoming real anal and asinine about politics and its an everyone problem not just democrats or republicans.
JFK_WAS_AFK11@reddit
Didn't see people getting arrested or their homes raided for saying the election was rigged from 2016 - 2020 and probably won't see it now.
griffcoal@reddit
Nobody broke into the country’s capitol, sent death threats to election officials, or slandered ballot counting machine companies repeatedly in 2016-2020 or now
JFK_WAS_AFK11@reddit
You did break into the Capitol during the Kavanaugh hearing and stormed the White House during the BLM "peaceful protests". You send death threats to just about anyone, including children of election officials.
Do your homework first
magnoliasmanor@reddit
That's not what happened at all. Your reality must be wild.
twofacetoo@reddit
That is literally what happened in both cases.
When Trump won in 2016, the internet wouldn't shut up about how he only won because the election was rigged and votes weren't properly counted and Russia and and and...
Then in 2020, Biden one, and suddenly NOBODY was claiming the election was rigged, purely because 'their guy' won this time.
Now, 2024, Trump won again, and we're back where we were 8 years ago, with people shrieking and crying that the election MUST have been rigged
sebas__@reddit
My dude are you okay? Nobody claimed the 2020 election was rigged? The orange has not stopped rambling about it for 4 years.
KotobaAsobitch@reddit
Trump literally refuses to say he lost, Vance refuses to say he lost, Trump never called and conceded 2020 to Biden, and was complicit in an insurrection.

LoveYourKitty@reddit
Opinion discarded lmao
VeganRatboy@reddit
Why does the Jan 6 attack on the capitol not meet this definition?
LoveYourKitty@reddit
Why would the most armed demographic in the world show up unarmed to revolt against the US government?
By your braindead logic, every single protest in history near the capital was an insurrection.
VeganRatboy@reddit
They forced their way into the Capitol building, in an attempt to stop the Electoral College vote count. The fact that they didn't use guns doesn't change the fact of what they were trying to do and what they did do.
Do you honestly not understand the difference between doing that, and protesting near the capital? Be real.
LoveYourKitty@reddit
Why would you ignore this question?
VeganRatboy@reddit
LoveYourKitty@reddit
“I need to overthrow the government, fuck it I don’t have time to put one of my 15 guns in my car before I drive over to the capitol.”
Absolute fucking brain rot lmao
The reasoning is that my IQ isn’t double digits and can discern between an uprising and a protest very easily.
You can’t be helped. I actually doubt you’re even an American.
magnoliasmanor@reddit
No. It's not.
LoveYourKitty@reddit
Did you sleep through the two years of Russiagate?
magnoliasmanor@reddit
LoveYourKitty@reddit
Lmao non partisan
Zero evidence and I guarantee you didn’t read the full report.
Yes there was rioting. Plenty of it.

NuteTheBarber@reddit
Russiagate was far more treacherous then jan6
smariroach@reddit
How so?
NuteTheBarber@reddit
Convinced the country their president was a treasonous foreign agent and hamstrung his administrations foreign policy/diplomacy pushed politics into hyper-partisanship.
smariroach@reddit
That certainly doesn't sound nearly as treasonous as direct physical action to influence / stop the transfer of power, and more in line with other republican strategies such as "want to import illegal immigrants for their votes" or "engaged in wide spread voter fraud"
MalekithofAngmar@reddit
Explain?
DrKoofBratomMD@reddit
It’s not a contradiction if he also thinks Jan 6th was hilarious

MalekithofAngmar@reddit

DrKoofBratomMD@reddit

MalekithofAngmar@reddit

DrKoofBratomMD@reddit
I’m reminded of a quote I heard
Humor is like a frog, you can dissect it to understand it but you kill it in the process
It’s funny because I said it is and it makes me laugh, the word “hypocrisy” never crossed my mind
Have you never laughed at something just for the sake of it? Do you always need to find the root cause of what’s funny? Or only when you’re being an obtuse weirdo who feels the need to police what others find funny on the internet (but only when you disagree with them)?
MalekithofAngmar@reddit
Your sense of humor might be regarded.
arbiter12@reddit
Brilliant-Mountain57@reddit
What is up with this victim complex, who are all of these leftists saying that? All I ever hear is that it's sad that that's the case and it speaks volumes about his campaign that you can literally say and do the most heinous shit possible but because poor people are that desperate for a break they're honestly willing to let him do everything he wants as long as he fixes the economy. Honestly, all I ever hear is people voting for Trump and the same sentence is repeated over and over: "I don't agree with his viewpoints but he's going to reduce inflation."
ToastedandTripping@reddit
As if the government directly controlled interest rates and quantitative easing.
I don't have a horse in the race, but seeing how Trump could do/say anything without anyone batting an eye has been sickening. It was the most obvious contrast between a classic politician (rightfully an unpopular thing) and a complete degenerate. We know Trump lies as easily as he breathes and yet people are still convinced...
callofthepuddle@reddit
the irony of going from "won't someone please save our sacred democracy" to "the voters are stupid stupid idiots" in the blink of an eye was amazing
magnoliasmanor@reddit
At least Democrats acknowledged it was our stupid voters, not the stupid voters listening to a con man saying it was rigged and stolen. Those same stupid voters who were ready to scream stolen election are all completely fine with this election being incredible fair.
MJisaFraud@reddit
Yep, demon-rats rigged the last election and they’d say this one was rigged too if Kamala won.
But republicans would never stoop so low to cheat in an election, they have too much integrity.
OldSheepherder4990@reddit
They prefwr the kind of riots where they get to loot stores and beat up innocents, the capitol is too dangerous for them since there are people who would shoot back over there
Easier to loot stores and attack communities where they can loot houses and beat up the elderly
Higuos@reddit
So in other words no. No attempts at insurrection, no attempts to defraud the American people.
Trump treats the jailed Jan 6th rioters as martyrs and had audio of them singing at his rallies. Did Kamala or Biden do that for BLM rioters?
JFK_WAS_AFK11@reddit
No but marching together with several thousand protesters into the Capitol to disrupt a hearing of a guy they don't like. That's what she already did with Kavanaugh
MalekithofAngmar@reddit
Trumpers seen completely incapable of admitting the asymmetry of Trump and the democratic candidates.
arbiter12@reddit
For all of the years where the democrats stood by the BLM rioters and california shoplifters....I think we're even in terms of civil upheaval.
MalekithofAngmar@reddit
BLM happened under Trump?
Nagemasu@reddit
Because it was heavily investigated and the only issues ever came from republicans. Same this time. Very convenient that bomb threats were called in and ballot boxes were vandalised in left leaning areas huh? Odd how that never seems to happen to right leaning areas. Must be the dems running election interference
RodeBoi@reddit
Well if, hypothetically, the dems had undercover people to make the threats and sabotage their own ballot boxes, to make people think “Look what the right are doing”
It definitely worked on you.
Nagemasu@reddit
What an absolutely wild theory. Dems are going to sabotage their own areas to give trump an edge just so they can turn around and point the finger at republicans? the mental gymnastics you guys come up with honestly lol
RodeBoi@reddit
Considering it’s not their first time they disguise themselves as republicans or “far-right” and commit bad acts to point the finger.
It’s not that wild of a theory.

Typical trans behaviour. Either threats of violence or porn.

NoSoundNoFury@reddit
Until a few days ago, Trump himself was saying the election was rigged and there was widespread voter fraud going on in PA, lol
Skepsis93@reddit
And Trump was humored with plenty of recounts, which is part of our electoral process. Why wouldn't the dems pursue the same?

ToumaKazusa1@reddit
Hitler never won an election, he got like 37% of the vote in the last fair election, it wasn't until the Nazis were making people vote in public and double checking all the ballots that he started to win with 98%.
It's just that in the Weimar Republic the government was so entirely dysfunctional that 37% was enough to ensure that literally nothing got done, because the Communists had 14% of the vote.
The Nazis and Commies didn't agree on much, but they did agree that Democracy was bad, so they were both going to vote against any legislation in the Reichstag on general principal, regardless of what the legislation was.
This essentially forced the President to rule by decree as a dictator, because if he didn't the country wouldn't work, and this concentration of power is what allowed Hitler to coup the government from the inside.
yeah_youbet@reddit
This is why everyone is condescending to you. Because you say mind-numbingly stupid shit with reckless disregard to how the world works outside of your bubble.

I don't disagree with the rest of your post. Unlike the last time I told a redditor that Hitler won the election. That Redditor was claiming that Hitler was unpopular in 1930s Germany and the fact he "only" got 37% proved how "unpopular" he was. Did I mention that I fucking hate Redditors?

You can’t post there without being flaired, and the only way to get flaired is to join their discord and talk to mods to give you one, they scan your post history to see if you are indeed a conservative before they give it to you. In other words you’d have to be pretty devoted. Otherwise you can’t post. Keeps out the lefties.

I definitely don’t want it to be algorithmically curated, but it all seems set up that way to feed the dopamine rage machine,

https://thefederalist.com/2024/10/29/busted-the-inside-story-of-how-the-kamala-harris-campaign-manipulates-reddit-and-breaks-the-rules-to-control-the-platform/

Astute.
Nagemasu@reddit
I love how it's only somewhat of an echo chamber. That's literally the most echo chamberist of echo chambers you can create on reddit.
People see Reddit as leaning left 1. because it's has the closest thing to freedom of speech compared to all the other platforms and majority of the educated world leans left (i.e. "leftism" is the the default for the western world), and 2. No algorithms to influence your interests or content you see. So yeah sure it can be seen as an echo chamber the same way anything becomes one when people of similar mind congregate, but that exists in other platforms too, you just see the content you engage with the most, so you're less likely to call them echo chambers if you're not seeing the side that challenges your views as often.
smariroach@reddit
Nah, they get banned in many cases for their opinions being unwelcome there. Many subs will even auto ban users if they ever commented on a post in undesirable subs.
Aside from that, "bad faith" is usually a accusation thrown at people without merrit, as it's both unprovable and unfalsifiable.
Some people do argue in bad faith, but you cannot know which so so you should stop being lazy and engage with their arguments instead of their imagined motivation

And then it also becomes an echo chamber. Just like all the main subs, especially R/politics (although R/politics is much worse).

YES you must change the name of your elementary school, it was named after a man who once traded with someone who owned slaves
NO I will not change the name of my political party whose founding initiative was the mass displacement and ethnic cleansing of the peaceful tribes of the American Southeast that had begun to adapt and integrate into modern civilization, its name is of no consequence
somercet@reddit
Calhoun).
Chadzuma@reddit
Basically the democrats were the new feds and had a lot of lost time to make up for in sketchy fed shit, with the Indian Removal Act at front and center stage

trentshipp@reddit
You mean supporters of which party? Bc elected Dem officials did all things you're trying to "counter" here.
P.S.: targeting politicians is based, targeting people is cringe.
Many_SuchCases@reddit
Someone else called these people crybullies yesterday and it fits really well.
cosplay-degenerate@reddit

The downside is that this also cuts them off from convincing others of their ideology. Usually, socialists don’t do this until they have power and can purge without consequence. But they just lost a major election so it’s weird to turn against, for example, the fastest growing demographic in the US (Latinos)
Unglazed1836@reddit
Sticking your fingers in your ears & making noises to ignore something was annoying 3 decades ago on the playground, as a grown adult it’s just kinda sad.

If you described fascism to the average Trump supporter without using the word fascism they would support it completely.
A_for_Anonymous@reddit
Higuos@reddit
I myself am libertarian but I don't use the term much anymore because so many people now (like yourself) use it as a shield while they unquestioningly repeat every MAGA talking point. The Dave Smith form of """"”"""libertarianism"""""""""".
A_for_Anonymous@reddit
Darth-Binks@reddit
Can you please describe fascism without using the word fascism?
AutoJannietator@reddit
It's when your country's border and immigration laws are enforced and people aren't jailed for speech.
Higuos@reddit
There was a bipartisan bill on the table to better enforce immigration laws (the ones that are the biggest issue in the country right now) and Trump told the Republicans to shut it down and you all cheered when they did. You don't care about the border. You care about virtue signaling about the border.
New-Connection-9088@reddit
The bill which permitted almost two million illegal immigrants before kicking in? The one which strengthened protections for both legal and illegal immigrants? Which granted faster processing for asylum seekers? Which guaranteed asylum for unaccompanied minors? Which permitted tens of thousands of Afghan residents? Gee, I wonder why people didn’t like it. That Bill was an IQ test and you failed.
Higuos@reddit
New-Connection-9088@reddit
73% of applications are accepted so that’s obviously untrue. The vast majority of applicants are given public support and allowed to stay. Further, of the more than eight million confirmed border interceptions during Biden’s tenure (and an estimated 12-20 million in total), only 1.6 million lodged asylum applications. The VAST majority are unaccounted for.
You’re making up what the bill would have done. I suppose because that’s what you read on Reddit. We don’t want faster processing. We want less irregular immigration. Period.

so they tried to pretend to care about the border a months before an election by creating a weak bill that granted amnesty to those claiming to seek asylum when they had 3 years not to wave hoards of illegals in to pad their voter base and work their plantations for cheap labor
shangumdee@reddit
You mean the bill that allowed for over a illegal entries a year by redefining what counts as illegal? We get more border patrol agents but they are kneecapped in their ability to do their job.
Ye totally failed because big Don said so.

Higuos@reddit
Because people say truths you don't like so you lash out like a 15 year old girl who's angry at her dad. Yeah I know.
New-Connection-9088@reddit
Because you sound hysterical. Trump wasn’t a Nazi fascist space Jew the last time and he’s not a Nazi fascist space Jew this time. Calm your tits. Touch some grass. Put down the phone. Delete Reddit. Reconnect with reality. Etc. You people have inoculated at least half the population against your brand of racism and hate, and now you’re wondering why they don’t listen to you. You are why.
Higuos@reddit
Where did I say that Trump is a Nazi fascist space Jew? How much time do you spend inventing characters to attack in your head before projecting it out into the world? I'm sure it makes your worldview easier when you imagine everybody you don't like as a screaming purple haired nonbinary person.
PooeyPatoeei@reddit
I 100% believe what you say, you believe in it 100%. As for whether that is truth, that doesn't matter to people like you, otherwise the reddit echochamber's wouldn't be so scared to have any dissenting voices.

EmperorofAltdorf@reddit

The right is just more effective at shutting down dissent, and supporting the Party. The left shuts down dissent but they do it in support of the candidate. Trump on the other hand is the most effective at channeling cancel culture and making echo chambers in the World.
Just Look at the conservative sub, they delete almost all the comments bc they dont allign with the Party line. You also get downvoted into oblivion here if you disagree.
yeah_youbet@reddit
Hmm no Trump won because the people who run the Democrat party are complicit and wanted tax cuts for themselves, and as a result, major swaths of the country are going politically unrepresented and alienated by mainstream politics. Not because someone said something you disagree with on Reddit.
Link941@reddit
Trump won because your Democrat party handed the victory over on a silver platter and the majority of your citizens are clueless misinformed retards. The average normie isn't being kept up at night in angry tears over the thought of smug leftists on reddit lmao

crushinglyreal@reddit
Because it’s victimposting. There has been a notable decrease in people defending Trump now that he says he’s actually going to do what he campaigned on, people here just want to whine about Reddit as usual.
kpyle@reddit
People embrace the idea of Trump but fail to see the consequences of embracing extreme rhetoric without actionable solutions. While the frustrations of being human are valid, the populist approach often undermines the necessary reforms by focusing on divisive language and quick fixes rather than long-term, meaningful change. It’s this lack of nuanced understanding that limits the effectiveness of addressing systemic issues.
