the_good_daze@reddit
Are any of these human to human infections?
Proper_Emotion_8595@reddit
Yes
LynkedUp@reddit
I would need sources for this
Individual-Tap2098@reddit
As if they would be truthful or accurate... Hah good luck with your monopolized "science"
Plastic-Ad-5324@reddit
Shut up Sergei.
Kolfinna@reddit
No evidence yet but several cases are of "unknown origin"
Dream-Ambassador@reddit
is there a vax for this? Should i upgrade my masks? I am immunocompromised due to medication I take. What kind of mask should I get?
BeneficialBack1264@reddit
There is sort of a vaccine stockpile for this, but it is for what was circulating over a year ago. The mutations that we fear could happen, especially if it gets into pigs, will result in an unknown efficacy that we won't have time to study the results of... Due to how much death will be happening. And with Mr. Kennedy Jr. taking over, we're fucked regarding nation vaccine initiatives.
You don't need to upgrade your masking yet. It comes down to the basics: an N95, glasses, gloves. Hand washing. Avoid the sick.
The frightening changes haven't happened yet. If they do happen, I know what to look for and I'll be exploding as well as others with posts everywhere. Stock up on basics to a level you've never done before. We're talking nuclear war cutting the threads of basic supply chains levels of devastation of it has that fatality rate of 50%.
Dream-Ambassador@reddit
ok. I have a few cambridge masks and am vaccinated. I wear glasses and keep alcohol gel in my car and wash my hands frequently. Thank you.
Catch22Crow@reddit
Just an fyi with the Cambridge masks: make sure they fit properly (not too small, not too big, no gaps, use the foam nose bridge piece and head straps) and check the expiration dates on the case. The elastic to adjust/tighten them has a tendency to dry out and go bad well before the expiry date. It can be a real bummer to open a fresh one and it’s more or less useless due to stretched out broken brittle elastic.
I’ve been wearing Cambridge as an immunocompromised person (genetic condition) since mid-2016. I’ll usually pick up a few of the Churchill Pros at a time when they’re on sale (like right now) so I have fresh ones to rotate for flu season and allergy season.
caveatlector73@reddit
A good air filter in your home helps as well. Just keep in the mind that the higher the MERV the harder the system works. It's a balance.
Dream-Ambassador@reddit
Thanks, I live in an antique apartment, however due to wildfires we do have a couple of air filters in our space and we keep them on year round.
Individual-Tap2098@reddit
Stock up on basics yesterday, because if you wait until last minute during a REAL pandemic, you'll be looking at entirely empty shelves, not just toilet paper.
OxytocinOD@reddit
It’s quite small risk as of now BUT the number one thing is hand hygiene. Washing hands or gel.
Number two is masks in public. A normal mask will help greatly. n95 or p100 rated masks/respirators offer the most protection, but in many situations are an overkill. Nothing wrong with extra protection as long as it’s comfy enough!
Dream-Ambassador@reddit
i have been consistently masking in stores since covid. I've had it twice but thanks to vaccines it did not wipe me out like RSV did. Thank you!
pbluntskkii@reddit
Lol
Dream-Ambassador@reddit
What are you laughing about? Are you laughing that I have an autoimmune disease and have to take medication to suppress my immune system? Or are you laughing that I'm cautious cobsistently because of my suppressed immune system?
pbluntskkii@reddit
You’ve had covid two times now no ?
Dream-Ambassador@reddit
What is funny about that?
pbluntskkii@reddit
Think about it
Dream-Ambassador@reddit
Explain it to me. What is fun y about an immunocompromised person getting covid multiple times? Are you not aware that the virus, like all viruses, mutated constantly and that's why you can get covid, flu and rsv multiple times? Do you not know how viruses and the immune system work?
Individual-Tap2098@reddit
Did you get covid vaccinations?
pbluntskkii@reddit
You got covid twice , despite all efforts , fearing for dear life apparently, only to have the energy to still fear and be here to continue fearing. Listen I’m sorry you’re immunocompromised that sucks , but here you are after two times
Difficult-Strain-591@reddit
No need to be a cunt about it.
First bout of it put me in the hospital in my 30s
Individual-Tap2098@reddit
If you want to be truly safe I recommend a full NBC suit with gas mask along with a decontamination zone in the entryway into your home.
CannabisSoda@reddit
I'm in the same boat and dealing with a shingles shit fit. Tacrolimus and Cellcept done killed all my self-defense. I don't get into crowds with more than four people and I try not to think about a bad flu year, let alone another life-altering pandemic.
One thing that terrifies me about a more potent virus is not that I might catch it, but that we might get to a point where I run out of medication and its impossible to get more for so many reasons.
fuckinoldbastard@reddit
Just in time for all the CDC cuts!
Brilliant-Truth-3067@reddit
If anything is gonna make America realize public health is very important it’s a pandemic of avian flu.
Concrete__Blonde@reddit
It will be every man for himself. r/HermanCainAward will have a whole new batch of Darwin Award winners to talk about.
316kp316@reddit
We are awarding them over at r/Project2025Award
caveatlector73@reddit
Actually there was this pandemic, couple million people died, a few years back that was dragged into the culture wars kicking and screaming against its will. Nothing has changed.
Brilliant-Truth-3067@reddit
Avian flu will be worse than Covid. That’s the main variable that will change people’s minds
Far_Bag_6703@reddit
900 cases with 460 deaths...much worse
caveatlector73@reddit
Avian flu has been around for centuries. There has to be more than that to kill and cripple millions and millions of people world wide in a few short years. I'm of course open to sources that add to your POV.
Brilliant-Truth-3067@reddit
The serology reports on the patient in Canada revealed that the H5N1 she has is resistant to antivirals and once spread begins h-h it very well could take out many people who have leftover damage from Covid
caveatlector73@reddit
Good point. Thank you for adding something I had forgotten. Yes when that came across my feed yesterday I thought oh here we go. I think many people don't make the tie in between infectious disease and chronic disease and how they can become intertwined.
It may not be a done deal, but it is definitely a worrisome variable. I have friends who cannot be vaccinated because of their immune system, and it's always scary.
Brilliant-Truth-3067@reddit
My brother and sister fall into that category. Building them a surplus of food water and masks to ride out the worst of it if it comes to that. Best of luck to your friends and you.
delta806@reddit
If Trump has a pandemic during not one but two of his terms that would be some weird sense of humor that the universe has
Dumbkitty2@reddit
I want to tell my deeply religious in-laws that bird flu means God is angry they put Trump above their love of the Lord and He’s sending plagues (again).
I just want to watch them get uncomfortable.
sehkoyah@reddit
“Thoughts and prayers”
Moonlight21222@reddit
Your name fits you a ton.
Brave-Safety-3304@reddit
You do realize, it’s starting in Cali? A state that voted for Kamala? God wants to rid al evil. And that’s the democrats that didn’t vote for him.
But nice try.
Go pray, you’re gonna need it
Hesitation-Marx@reddit
That’s not where it started but okay
Brave-Safety-3304@reddit
First human case is in Oregon. Just north of Cali and still a state that voted for Kamala. 😂😂😂😂
Hesitation-Marx@reddit
…. There have been human cases for longer than that. The CDC has reported 44 human cases since April of this year, but that’s only in the United States.
You’ll see more in states that actually cooperate with the CDC and perform testing; states like Missouri had suspected bird flu cases but refused to cooperate with the CDC.
Just because you haven’t been paying attention doesn’t mean the facts fit your (stupid) narrative.
monkeylogic42@reddit
Dudes a fucking moron. He doesn't care to understand all he wants to do is shout Trump! and be a good little goose stepper.
Academic-Abalone-281@reddit
How dumb can a person be? Apparently pretty fucking brain dead.
Ok-Car3736@reddit
And as trump supporters would love to tell you reply trump won so fuck your feelings and go fuck yourself.
Hesitation-Marx@reddit
I mean, antichrist, pouring plagues out upon the land…
TurnipSensitive4944@reddit
😂. God is angry at humanity for a lot of reason not just the United States. He doesn't care who we voted for since we are still sinning up a storm regardless
Righteousrob1@reddit
Whatever God this is seems pretty damn evil
fuckinoldbastard@reddit
He’s a mean sob according to the Old Testament, that’s why they say to fear him. Me? I try not to associate with mass murderers and vengeful assholes!
TurnipSensitive4944@reddit
He tells you to fear Him the same way you fear your parents its out of respect. Also last time I checked bringing justice to bad people doesn't make someone especially God a mass murderer
West-Engine7612@reddit
Yes, those children that got eaten by bears god sent really deserved it. Making fun of a man's baldness is just as bad as rape and murder.
TheDrySkinQueen@reddit
I mean have you seen the shit humans do to each other?? I’d be a mean sob as well if my creation ended up being as fucked up as us lol
TurnipSensitive4944@reddit
How exactly is He evil?
Righteousrob1@reddit
Well a God who murders children and gives out plagues because he doesn’t get what he wants is pretty evil. If a child had a hamster and that hamster didn’t love the child unconditionally and the child decided to bestow diseases on it and kill its babies. I’d call that child diabolical
TinnAnd@reddit
And that's the thing. If God is real he either is a kid with a magnifying glass/likes to watch his creation randomly burn or doesn't give two shits about us.
TurnipSensitive4944@reddit
No He's not. We are the children with magnifying glasses and He is the parent who disciplines us
JelielAllelle@reddit
Well we sat on the edge of the river, The crowd screamed, “Sacrifice the liver!” If God takes life, he’s an Indian giver. So tell me now why, you’ll tell me never. Who would want to be? Who would want to be such a control freak? Well who would want to be? Who would want to be such a control freak?
Spirited_Reveal6264@reddit
You still don't know there's evil people that rule this world (want to keep doing so) that control CDC, WHO, WEF, and so on, that create viruses and spread them how and when they please? Of course they will launch it during a Trump term, because Trump is bringing an end to their wicked evil reign. They are the ones doing human trafficking too (that's why they want to keep an open border: sex trafficking, child trafficking. Better start paying attention.
Open_Sir6234@reddit
"It will go away"
Inflatable-yacht@reddit
Good thing his defense secretary doesn't even wash his hands...
yepitsatoilet@reddit
I doubt that will make anyone realize anything... Where have you been?
screech_owl_kachina@reddit
No they won’t. They’re gonna refuse to comply with any measures, and lucky for them none will be coming.
Historical-Rain7543@reddit
It’s almost like they are creating this right now cause a reset of our food systems of the scale RFK has suggested would take control of food out of the hands of corporations… but that would be crazy to say… not like covid was at first ‘100% natural’ and now it’s widely accepted to be from a lab leak…. The wuhan virology research center is real and the CDC fasho gave them grants. They FASHO had nothing to do with it…
Notafitnessexpert123@reddit
But too late to stall the election in democrats’ favor like last time
Individual-Tap2098@reddit
Does a democrat poop in the woods? No they do it on the sidewalks...
HangingGoreDrinker@reddit
You’re right but redditors don’t like when someone calls out mainstream media approved opinions
Rasalom@reddit
Hey, like that guy who died of COVID told me back in 2020: "COVID ain't real!"
All-I-Do-Is-Fap@reddit
Was he vaccinated?
loralailoralai@reddit
Covid vaccines weren’t Available to the general public health n 2020
Hesitation-Marx@reddit
Can confirm, husband has cancer and couldn’t get one until 2021. And boy did I try.
daviddjg0033@reddit
Had a roommate die of cancer in 2021. My deepest sympathy.
Hesitation-Marx@reddit
I’m sorry for your loss. Husband is doing okay, all things considered! Thanks.
capitan_dipshit@reddit
Yes, but all that did was give him autism just before he died
pastelbutcherknife@reddit
He was not.
Hesitation-Marx@reddit
Isn’t that a nasty, gnarly slice of schadenfreude pie?
softsnowfall@reddit
And RFK Jr… who is anti-vax….
fuckinoldbastard@reddit
Let the stupidity commence! Unfuckingbelievable!
Cautious-Roof2881@reddit
Trumps in, bring on covid 2.0
Historical-Rain7543@reddit
Just like the wrote in the script back after 2012, had to get the long plot straight but they’re finally ready for another big show
Individual-Tap2098@reddit
Who is they
Historical-Rain7543@reddit
Donor class
Individual-Tap2098@reddit
Is it trump doing it or his opposition?
Cautious-Roof2881@reddit
One wonders.
Far_Bag_6703@reddit
Almost a 50% fatality rate....900 reported cases with 460 deaths. Let that marinate....
caroleenabeana@reddit
Oh fuuuuuuuuuuuuuck. Here we fucking go again.
jokersvoid@reddit
I wonder how RFK jr. handles the outbreak. If he bans vaccines will people listen?
Individual-Tap2098@reddit
Commercial livestock are legally required to have multiple vaccinations, some yearly. I've read these vaccines only mitigate risk. No guaranteed protection, and too many vaccines can cause adverse reactions, including mutation or lowered immune system. Could there be a correlation? Who has looked into that possibility? How can people be so stupid?
Serious-Sundae1641@reddit
You should shoot off an email to Purdue Vet. They study vaccinations and much more right on their new 100 million dollar addition to their campus. It's spectacular!
Serious-Sundae1641@reddit
Their human stem cell laboratory studies long neglected diseases for new therapies too. It gives people suffering from diseases like CF some hope! I myself suffer from MS, so hopefully someone will fund the shit out of that place because I'd line up for THAT vaccine.
painefultruth76@reddit
CA prep for January=Lockdown....
OkMaximum7356@reddit
Time to wall of California and save the rest of the country from it's filth.
AConno1sseur@reddit
At least we have vaccines that weren't rush jobs and have had years to mature.
Ho_Advice_8483@reddit
Why does everything devolve into politics in these discussions?
Individual-Tap2098@reddit
Because these issues are caused by politics forcing their will onto everyone else. That is the true sickness in this country. Not the flu.
AkiraHikaru@reddit
Clearly this is circulating. Any reliable resources on what symptoms people have with this?
Individual-Tap2098@reddit
Reliable source.... Hah good luck. From what I've read, same symptoms as covid. Flu.
eebslogic@reddit
The answer is bleach. Rub it in real good, inject it. They’ll sell it as Trump’s Cure All. In a way, they’d be morbidly right 🤦🏻♂️
Wild_Ostrich5429@reddit
Trump said it’s Chinese virus and left media screamed. Wasn’t that a fact?
Individual-Tap2098@reddit
"Chinese" virus made in a US company owned lab located in China. Did we forget about all the job outsourcing to different countries?
AlfredoCustard@reddit
Good thing RFK is going to be head of Health and Human Services!
aneurism75@reddit
It's raining Ivermectin, Hallelujah!
Individual-Tap2098@reddit
Ivermectin causes infertility. They can't have that. They need all the babies they can get to replace all the cannon fodder they are going to lose from WW3.
GoreonmyGears@reddit
PoopPant73@reddit
Dang, “they” are right on the buzzer this time…
ptraugot@reddit
And a case of monkey pox in San Mateo. Yay.
AAAAHaSPIDER@reddit
Can I go back to wearing a mask in the grocery store without having some random scream at me? I'm immunocompromised and don't want a chicken to kill me.
agent0fCha0s@reddit
😂😂😂
Guiac@reddit
Healthcare workers like myself are still burnt out from covid and we still have big staffing shortages - if this goes pandemic I’m out.
hream_and_terpenes@reddit
It’s amazing how one can work in health care and still be as stupid and gullible as yourself
annehboo@reddit
Lol what?
AxeSkewsMe@reddit
Don't mind him he's suffering from Trumpitus. Unfortunately no treatment for that as of yet 😢

GlitteringDisaster78@reddit
Ahhh shit here we go again
Ornery-Sheepherder74@reddit
Blah blah blah, hit me up when it’s H2H or hospitalization worthy. I’ve spent too much stress worrying about bird flu over the last year. I’ll cross that bridge when I get there.
P_Gizmo@reddit
It already is hospitalization worthy… there is a teenager in BC Canada who is in critical condition in the ICU with confirmed H5N1 avian flu, and the teen had no contact with commercial birds or farms at all. There are articles about it.
PaulieWalnut88@reddit
Just kill some birds and we’ll be all set
LudovicoSpecs@reddit
At this point, we know it's not being well managed on farms.
I wish people would stop posting unless millions and millions of livestock are being culled or there's human-to-human transmission.
caveatlector73@reddit
There is a reason the price of eggs is high. They aren't imports - it's because entire flocks are being culled to try to prevent the spread to other species like dairy and humans.
LudovicoSpecs@reddit
Yes, but we already know all that. There is no "new" news here. There isn't anything new enough to be actionable in yet another "x new cases of bird flu in farm workers and their families." We've literally been reading those stories for years.
The last noteworthy bit of news was that a pig had been killed by it. One step closer to humans.
At this point, I'm less worried about the jump to humans than I am about the fact that it's wiping out a colossal number of wild birds and other animals.
Human-to-human transmission is the moment when we'll need to be aware of where it is, how quickly it spreads, which vector it spreads by in h-t-h transmission and adjust our lives accordingly like we did during covid.
Historical-Rain7543@reddit
Yeah they’re taking a batch of chicks to the dump at ritewood, a local huge egg farm near me. They had whole barns of nature animals die two months ago and they’re having another round of die offs again now, I saw the trucks & ventilators out again today. They stopped harvesting their corn, really sad to see, their operation must be in shambles.
deiprep@reddit
Is there any health workers in this sub who have been told about this in their hospital / clinic?
joeg26reddit@reddit
54 cases
how many died so far in USA?
stopbeingaturddamnit@reddit
The Spanish flu started like a regular flu and mutated into something much more deadly. Viral evolution to mild is a myth.
caveatlector73@reddit
I think that is a reasonable question. But, there were also people who have not died of other infectious diseases, but the infection resulted in chronic disease which is actually more costly economically over time.
Responsible_Ad2870@reddit
Meh whatever. Bird flu outbreaks have happened before one that infected at least 1k people in 2003 and nothing came out of them. I don’t think a pandemic is inevitable from this it still has some pretty tall barriers to jump to adapt to human receptors but I also don’t much care playing Russian roulette with the disease either.
TheMaybeMualist@reddit
Welcome back 2020.
Rip1072@reddit
Simple solution, quarantine all of Cali, nobody in or out til the state finds an effective solution to the outbreak.
HeisGarthVolbeck@reddit
The way MAGA gets off on the idea of Americans suffering is disgusting.
caveatlector73@reddit
Yeah about that. It's not a Cali thing. Closing the barn door after the barn catches fire is pretty useless.
bearbearjones@reddit
I love this idea 😉
