Rosalind Chao plays Ye Wenjie in the Netflix production of 3 Body Problem. Recognizing actors you enjoy in other media is pretty far out.

With the worst British accent in recent memory 😂
BlackLion0101@reddit
...she's not playing British. She's playing Chinese who moved to Britian later in life.

As someone with a Chinese wife, she doesn't have a chinese accent. It literally comes across like an american poorly doing a british accent.

...she's not portraying someone you know. She's trying to portraying someone that a lot of people might know.

When did she get so old?
When did ai get so old?! 🥺

Wow, I've 3bd twice in two weeks... I didn't recognize her at all!
chidedneck@reddit (OP)
I didn’t either until late in the pilot she did some neck movement and I did a Leonardo DiCaprio meme at the screen and shouted, “Keiko!”

She was also in Agatha All Along

No, I don’t think she was? I watched it last week. Just checked her IMDB and it’s not listed.

She plays Lorna Wu
kiddo778@reddit
No, she doesn’t. Elizabeth Anweis plays Lorna Wu.

Oh damn, u right. I think i've fallen to some misinformation. My apologies, and thanks for correcting me.

I’ll be damned! I totally didn’t put that together.

Worf: You may now give birth. Keiko: That’s what I’ve been doing!
dphoenix1@reddit
I miss when TNG was on Netflix, the subtitles in the birth scene as he slaps the baby were hysterical. Now that it’s on Paramount, the subs have changed and it’s just not as funny for some reason.
Triad64@reddit
What did the subs say?
dphoenix1@reddit
Ugh I wish I could remember exactly what it said. Ultimately it had to do with Netflix’s subtitles being actual SDH, in that they describe other sounds outside of language, to help those that are hard of hearing. Whereas Paramount’s are just dialog subtitles.
Iirc was something like “[slaps baby]” with the camera focused tightly on Worf’s face, which, if taken out of context, just seemed comical to me — if you just saw that one frame, it appeared to indicate that big, strapping Worf is casually slapping a baby around.

Omfg! I totally remember that amazing scene still after decades! Wow. Thanks for that little memory tickle. 😅
ZealousidealClub4119@reddit
The second time around is even funnier.
QUARK: Did you hear? Keiko's going to have another baby.
WORF: Now?
O'BRIEN: No, seven months.
...
BASHIR: Oh, well I'll be sure and call you when she's ready to deliver. You can lend a hand.
WORF: Seven months? Unfortunately, I will be away from the station at that time. Far away. Visiting my parents. On Earth. Excuse me.

I want to watch this, but with Netflix's history, I want to wait until the entire series has been filmed before I start watching.
chidedneck@reddit (OP)
Don't even subscribe until they finish what they started. 🤭

Wait til you see Hell On Wheels. Miles O'Brian and Christopher Pike are both in that.
