i watched the episode where they tried to debunk the myth of ninjas having developed some special equipment to run on water. it seems they went off the idea of the lizard... i didn't see much else in the episode

i think that it is an obvious rode to go down considering... but i was thinking about this a bit and i think there are two things

1: ninjas were most likely working in teams and 2: running over water is going to cause a lot of noise

so i had in mind that they used something like bamboo (it was everywhere) and put it under something where they could have a lot of these bamboo "cups" the thought is they could move slow and silent but also.. since they use teams 1 or 2 ninjas could use these cups on foot and hand and deploy themselves silently in the water while other ninjas ran over them

sure they coulda put other things in the water to run on.. and walking on water vs running over objects/people in the water isn't the same...
