I'm wondering how easy it would be to port this thing to match the forward slide cuts. Just like the LFA Apollo 11, it seems as though it would be a relatively easy/inexpensive mod to do. This might very well be my 1st 2011. It's either this, a Prodigy comp, or save up for a Bul EDC Pro. But knowing how impatient & shitty at saving money I am, a Bul is a long shot.
Update- FWIW they offer a comped version or you can buy this one they offer a ported barrel. I bought the standard version and might get it for range fun but not sure as it shoots softer than what I'm used to anyway. So far no FTF at all with probably 300 rounds or so through it and I've shot Blazer 115, reman 115, another 115, Aguila 147 flat nose, and 147 hollow points. Gonna try some reman and Fiocci 124s next. Feels well sprung and shoots more comfortably than I thought considering the funky grip. Trigger is really nice but may switch to the slightly curved shoe. My only two gripes are the forward serrations are useless (I don't get how a gun designed this well had such a big miss there) and that I'm not getting regular slide lock back- it seems the spring is weak. I thought I was riding the catch somehow but that's not the issue. On a plus, the optic plates (either RMR or RMSC) have a rear iron built in which is pretty innovative.
It's not just that the mags are cheap it's also that they are readily available and also very dependable mags. The availability is also a plus because a lot of people who get this also already own Glock mags so no need for buying more.
Here you are acting as if 25 vs 50 isn't a pretty large difference. Right I just bought a gun for 1400 after taxes. Why would I want to spend even more on expensive mags . Idk that's just my take on it. Hope I didn't come off as being indignant.
2011 mags are known to be finicky and are pretty much the worst part and the Achilles heel of the system. If you make it so that the gun retains all the advantages of the platform and uses a different mag with a solid track record, well, that's a good thing. I know almost no glock/m&P/p320/walther/hk/whatever guy that owns a mag brush. EVERY 2011 guy I know, myself included, owns a mag brush. I wonder why?
Have you tried using OEM Glock magazines in this? The very few reviews I have seen so far on this reported trouble using OEM Glock magazines. The KCI magazines the gun shipped with fit fine, but the guy had problems using gen4 and gen5 Glock OEM magazines.
OEM mags don't work well. They are a tight fit and will not drop freely. I have to use to force to strip them from the grip module. Pmags and KCI mags work good. The larger issue i had with this gun is light primer strikes. Over 50% and with 3 different FMJ's. I ordered an extended length firing pin. I hope that fixes the issue.
Fusion firearms has great support, share with them as they are always trying to improve their products and adapt lightning fast.
I’ve been looking at this project for some time and just have been waiting for them to get some of the kinks out before I order one. Plus I’m hoping to see a factory ported version, which would be golden.
OEM Glock mags are tight going in and need some force to strip from the grip module. KCI and Pmags work just fine. but I had other issues with this gun. Over 50% light primer strikes. Not a great start. I ordered the extended length firing pin. I'll try that once it come in.
Double stack 2011 is a double entendre. 2011 are inherently double stack. And yes I'm aware of what it is, that doesn't change my opinion that it looks wrong. The slide is too tall. Grip looks too long front to back. The proportions just look off to me.
Been looking for info on this guy - how does the grip module feel? By chance is it narrower than a prodigy? Tough to gauge from photos as it’s so blocky
It's a different feel. Little more narrow. I have Staccato P. LFA, and PT Htac. They are all slightly different. But it feels great. I just added a red dot today. Will shoot it this weekend.
It'll get a bad rap because it's made by a Turkish company, however, I've had my hands on one for about 300 rounds and I can say, without question, you'd never know it was an $1100 2011. My only easy rectifiable complaint is the weight of the mags. Dropping mags requires a bit of a shake to get them moving. Easy fix is to install a 3rd party basepad. I ordered the chromed version and it should be arriving in a week or so.
For fun. I plugged in a 30rd Glock 17 mag. Works just fine LOL

Yep absolutely love this firearm smooth & accurate as hell

So far it shots flawlessly and shoots like a dream.
phantomz2023@reddit (OP)
Yes, sir. It's a 2011 4". It does take glock mags. Full metal body, including the grip.
_Cybernaut_@reddit
I don’t get the “takes Glonk mags!!!1!” thing. Cos, what, they’re cheaper??? Ya drop $2000+ on the gun, so what if mags cost $25 vs. $50?

Yep. 2011 mags are about $60 on sale. Glock mags are $20. So yeah... oh and this 2011 is $1099 not $2K
ContentAd3625@reddit
Staccato introduced a new model taking Glock mags so this is the movement of the industry.
sputsputputput@reddit
2011 mags can easily be over $130 each with a basepad and new follower. Times that by 10 mags and the appeal of a 2011 taking glock mags is apparent.

i dont want to invest into a fourth ecosystem of mags at this point

Factory Glock magazines are extremely durable and reliable, maybe the best semi-auto mags out there.

Not yet. I will later today.

Anything to report? I'm having issue with my ca OEM glock 10 rounders. Pmags are fairing better but needs more testing to confirm. Ftfs with Glock.

Grip feels great. It helps that it's all metal. Not super aggressive, but planted in place.

How does it compare to the prodigy grip - if you’ve held that one. Any narrower/less chonky?

LopsidedResearch8400@reddit
The general silhouette just looks blocky in a way that reminds me of the guns kids are known to make with Legos.
Its just an observation.
I assume it is like a 1911 that takes glock magazines?
