What pistol is this Norwegian fighter in ukraine carrying?

The magazine and grip looks like it could be a stechkin APS
fendtrian@reddit
A lot of officers have APS, they don’t have such a huge stock of Makarvos as the Russians do. I heard some SSO units behind enemy lines use PB from old KGB Supply. But an APS is very common among M&P units in former CCCP. Unusual is the Suppressed variant with a Wirestock. But the Woodstock is also pretty common among officers but they tend to not use it. I really hope this war is over soon so I can finally get a AN94. I only have one wet dream and it’s Gennadiy Nikonov.
Rockfish00@reddit
I have wet dreams about my significant other, but to each their own I suppose
fendtrian@reddit
That’s a constant Daydream state, she’s 90-100 pounds of pure sexy. I should have married an ugly girl so my balls wouldn’t constantly ache, it’s not cancer I checked.
IShouldbeNoirPI@reddit
Ammo shortage?
Panzerkampfpony@reddit
How do you mean?
IShouldbeNoirPI@reddit
That spare mag looks empty, and spring looks relaxed
kingawsume@reddit
As pointless and bloody the war had been, it's been fascinating seeing one of the greatest hodgepodges of firearms come together.
I've seen videos of infantry with F2000s, a Bubba-fucked AK-74 with the Hubble Telescope mounted on a gas tube rail with both scope rings on one side of the scope turrets, Aero Precision AR-15 lowers with 3rd pin holes drilled, M1A1 Thompsons with welded Weaver rail bits and a red dot...
BadgerBadgerCat@reddit
Don't forget actual WWII vintage M91/30 rifles, TT-33 pistols and even M1910 Maxim MGs. I fully expect to see someone wielding a Nagant M1895 revolver at some point.
GumshoosMerchant@reddit
Regards tot he Nagant revolvers. I've heard some Russian institutions kept those in service all the way into the 2000s. Mainly with postal and railroad security, and some police forces.
BadgerBadgerCat@reddit
I've heard that too, and given the Russians never throw anything away, they're probably in a warehouse somewhere even today, "just in case".
lettelsnek@reddit
even seen pics of a ww1 us 1911 somewhere
EvergreenEnfields@reddit
Quite possible that was actually one of the Imperial Russian contract 1911s.
lettelsnek@reddit
didn’t have the markings on the frame and it had US property marks on the frame
russian ww1 contract was fulfilled with standard commercial models some marked some unmarked
Firebrand-PX22@reddit
Honestly with the pictures of the war I've seen and the amount of old Soviet shit I've seen, I'm rather surprised I haven't seen a Nagant revolver yet, bonus points for suppressed lol, but given how fast the Ruskies are going through equipment and troops, it's definitely just a matter of time
martellus@reddit
Its probably already happened and just not been photographed. For all we do see theres probably far more we don't.
Firebrand-PX22@reddit
Oh there absolutely is, even though this is the most recorded war in human history we probably haven’t even scratched the surface of
PearlClaw@reddit
Did you see the dual linked maxims with a red dot?
Roaddog113@reddit
Challenge yourself, and name a war, that wasn’t pointless.
kingawsume@reddit
Wars for the right to independent governance, in my opinion. The American Revolution, for example.
Roaddog113@reddit
So, the “independence” of Ukraine is a pointless cause?
Armageddonxredhorse@reddit
Or perhaps any war against slavery? I think what makes a great war,is what we fought for,and the best things to fight for are the things that benefit others.
BeenJamminMon@reddit
I like to say the Ukraine War has made all guns and setups clone correct
fendtrian@reddit
Yeah it’s every gun lovers wet dream. But none of us would actually wanna risk it’s life for this kind of bubba freedom
RoweTheGreat@reddit
Based on the profile of the grip and the magazine floor plate, plus you can barely make out the slide serrations, hammer, and the notch in the slide. I am confident in saying that is a Stechkin APS. The overall size is correct, and the rough shape of the pistol can be seen if you look at the holster.
Fantastic-Sleep8657@reddit
Someone didnt play tarkov :P
Jombhi@reddit
Grade-A war loot.
Square_Survey_2722@reddit
How are they pulling so many rare things out of Ukraine
Activision19@reddit
The Soviet Union basically stored every surplus gun they had post WW2 and didn’t scrap much of anything just in case WW3 kicked off. When the Soviet Union dissolved, most of those warehouses of old guns still existed. Some were sold to the US, which is why everyone has a 91/30 stateside. A bunch of those warehouses were in Ukraine and Russia, so both sides have been pulling from those stocks to arm people.
CharlesBronsonsHair@reddit
Gotta miss the days of $60 mosins and $100 for a can of 500 rounds of 7.62x54R
Revan_91@reddit
Yeah probably a Stechkin APS unless there is another pistol that has a similar profile.
Downloading_Bungee@reddit
I concour, could be a makrov but the holster looks a bit short.
Pavotine@reddit
The base of the grip and magazine are wrong for a Makarov. Definitely right for the Stechkin though.
helmer012@reddit
Stechkin APS. Full auto 9x18.
Wolfmanreid@reddit
100% stechkin APS

So the CIA decided they wanted Roland dead That son-of-a-b!tch Van Owen blew off Roland’s head Roland the headless Thompson gunner Norway’s bravest son (to even up the score)

They can still see his headless body stalking through the night, in the muzzle flash of Roland’s Thompson gun in the muzzle flash of Roland’s Thompson gun

Roland searched the continent for the man who’d done him in He found him in Mombassa in a barroom drinking gin Roland aimed his Thompson gun - he didn’t say a word But he blew Van Owen’s body from there to Johannesburg

omfg no way. Seriously?
fendtrian@reddit
Not really surprising, an OTs-23 or OTs-33 would be pretty surprising, they are super rare guns and the 23 is also in a super rare caliber. But APS are very common in Ukraine.
tai-kaliso97@reddit
Definitely a Stechkin. They're really popular with the Ukrainians.
Meganinja1886@reddit
Stechkin or a Ukrainian home brew pistol.
