4070 ti super + 7800x3d vs 4080 super + 7600x3d

If have two builds that I want to game with, which one would you rather get?
I play Valorant, Fortnite (maybe max settings with ray tracing), Forza Horizon 5, wanna try Cyberpunk 2077.
If you don't like these builds, pls change them to make it better, I am open to suggestions. This is my first time building a pc. :)

I do want to play with Ray tracing and will be needing the dlss feature for games like fortnite. But I get where u r coming from... both cards are much better at raw performance
kovu11@reddit
If you want these few pixels in puddles with Ray Tracing then yeah go with NVIDIA. I am just guy who don't want to waste money so i chose AMD.
Unknowinshot@reddit (OP)
I chose Nvidia because many people agreed that Nvidia's drivers are much better than AMD drivers.
Also, any game that offers FSR and DLSS, the Nvidia DLSS will always perform better than the AMD FSR. For example the 4070 ti super and the 7900xt. Or the 4080 super and the 790xtx.
It is just that more games are made thinking that the player will most likely have a Nvidia card.
kovu11@reddit
NVIDIA drivers were better in 2015, today AMD drivers has better drivers than NVIDIA since NVIDIA remade their driver software completely a week ago, it will take months to tweak all the bugs.
DLSS will perform around 5% better, you get less pixel shimmer but more ghosting with DLSS. Also You will not get DLSS upgrades in future but you will get FSR upgrades. I even have FSR on my RX 580. AMD takes care of their customers, NVIDIA shits on them, they even created a limit on NVIDIA cloud 100GB a month, you want more? Pay.
With 7900 XTX you WILL have more fps and save more money. Idk how about you but i buy gpu for fps and not for DLSS. Even tho i am not gonna spend 20% more money for 5% better DLSS or more pixels in water puddles (RT). Buying NVIDIA for DLSS is like choosing Volkswagen over Bugatti (for the same price) just because it got seat warmer. Only reason to go NVIDIA is AI generation, even that will change with ROCm launch on Windows.

doing tricks on it
Nyun-Red@reddit
AMD GPU's are just not there in terms of features, but we get it you love the company
kovu11@reddit
Not gonna pay 20% more for 5% better features. I buy gpus for fps and on that field AMD wins.

I live near a micro center if you are wondering y i put the mobo and ram as $0
Astrumi@reddit
Not sure if it matters much but the rams are actuall different in both bundles. The 7800X3D has CL 32 latency and the 7600X3D has a CL 36 latency
Unknowinshot@reddit (OP)
OMG I had no idea! I thought both were cl 32 ram
thank you!
Astrumi@reddit
No problem! I am still going to end up using the cl 36 anyways, I got the same bundle as you with the 4070 ti super. So Worse of both options hahaha! With this info in hand are you gonna change your ram?
Unknowinshot@reddit (OP)
I really wanted good ram but this looks like the only option to stay in budget :(.
i will be going with the 7600x3d bundle and maybe change the ram in the future
NDMCN009@reddit
What is going on there are they throw out some mobos :D I really have a good tent for all weather
Unknowinshot@reddit (OP)
if u get one of the cpu mobo and ram bundles u can save around $130
ODEH67@reddit
Yeah I mean how would it be meant otherwise 🤷♂️ if its the case then I will park my caravan right next to it
doctor-ase@reddit
Any option similar to 7600X3D? I cant find this model on my country, and i was thinking on 4070 ti super + 7800x3d combo for a 1440p pc, but if 4080 super + 7600x3d is a better combo, i want to find an alternative CPU for a similar budget combo.
Unknowinshot@reddit (OP)
do you by any chance live near a micro center? that is how i am going to get my build...
I say this because micro center has the 7600x3d with the motherboard and ram bundle that you can save over $130 on.
here is my build https://pcpartpicker.com/list/dhy23w
and here is the micro center website
you do have to live near a micro center I believe.
hoper this helps
szczszqweqwe@reddit
Probably 7800x3d, but check out this: this Hardware Unboxed video it's not 7600x3d, just a regular 7600, but it should give an idea.
Unknowinshot@reddit (OP)
DAM imagine the 7600 was a 7600x3d. This really makes me lean toward getting the 4080 super
szczszqweqwe@reddit
If you lean more into a shooters it's probably better in your case.
Traditional-Volume51@reddit
Go with 7600x3d , at 1440p - 4k both will perform almost same
Tho there are few changes id make
1# that cooler seems kinda overpriced , you can get 360mm aio for that price that'll outperform it , will run quieter and won't take up lot of space giving it a cleaner look
If you want air cooler then just get phantom spirit for 35$
2# for the ssd either get m482 for 90$ or m480 pro for 120$ , both are more than enough
M480 pro performs almost same as 990 pro
3# you've used a custom case but the name is of a psu so prolly a typo ig , I've added some case that you can choose from
Enermax case is great for its price , comes with 4 argb + pwm fans and also a sag bracket Inbuilt
4# you can get 850w psu for about 100$
Some after all those changes this is what it looks like
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/dLxjXR
Unknowinshot@reddit (OP)
Quick question. Y is this 850w PSU so cheap?
Traditional-Volume51@reddit
It's newly launched so they're selling it for slightly lower prices ro get more reviews and stuff ig
And its not too cheap , msi and thermaltake psus are 10-15$ more than this
Unknowinshot@reddit (OP)
thanks this looks great!
Unknowinshot@reddit (OP)
ikr
here is the link for the case

NewestAccount2023@reddit
I'd go 7600x3d+4080s, then you can get 11800x3d in 2 years and 7080 a year or so after that
Unknowinshot@reddit (OP)
I would need to upgrade my psu right?
NewestAccount2023@reddit
Doesn't look like it. 4080s max is 320w, 7600x3d pull less than 60w, even with 50w of other stuff (is how my system is with 12 fans and stuff) we're only up to 430w max usage.
itz_slayer65@reddit
What resolution do you plan on playing in? Also, I'm sure some people will say it's fine, but I really think you should go with a 850W psu. Maybe get a phantom spirit cpu cooler to balance the change in cost? (Just a suggestion)
Unknowinshot@reddit (OP)
1440p
itz_slayer65@reddit
I'd still get the 4080 super build tbh.
Unknowinshot@reddit (OP)
I chose the astria 600 argb because of the argb fans and the super cool lighting on tp
itz_slayer65@reddit
Totally understandable.
Gouca@reddit
Absolutely no need for a 850W PSU. The theoretical maximum draw for 7600X3D + 4080S is 500W.
littman28@reddit
They mentioned everything I was going to 😂
itz_slayer65@reddit
I did?😭
kahmos@reddit
I prefer the extra cores because I'm never just gaming while I game.
pf100andahalf@reddit
4080
Captobvious75@reddit
4080super and 7600x3d.
dragenn@reddit
7600x3d + 4080super
This is the most optimal build. Nothing needs more than 12 threads...
MakimaGOAT@reddit
4080 super and 7600x3d is better imo
Lewdeology@reddit
I’ll take the faster gpu most of the time.
Withinmyrange@reddit
Competitive games prefer stronger cpu. I’d go 7800x3d but both options are solid tbh
Moscato359@reddit
4080 super + 7600x3d is a good bet
Fast cpu and fast gpu
