Thunderbolt PCI-E Card Recommendations

Looking for a PCI-E Thunderbolt 4 card. I don't require any specific additional ports like Displayport or anything along those lines. Just wanting a straight-up 4x USB-C port card.

While both use the USB-C connector, Thunderbolt and USB are different protocols with different feature sets. Also what motherboard do you have? Not all motherboards are compatible with Thunderbolt add in cards.

As I said, I want a Thunderbolt 4 card that has 4x USB-C connectors. Mine is compatible. Just looking for people's experiences and recommendations on particular cards.

Which exact mobo do you have? Not all mobos are compatible with all Thunderbolt cards. We need to know your exact motherboard model. A lot of them are more or less vendor-locked for compatibility.

The Asus boards have been pretty notorious for vendor locking their Thunderbolt compatibility. https://www.asus.com/us/motherboards-components/motherboards/accessories/thunderboltex-4/ It's only got 2 ThunderBolt ports, but you're unlikely to find a Thunderbolt card from anyone that realistically has more ports that that, especially one that's compatible.

I have the same motherboard as you, what were you looking into adding the thunderbolt card for? I’m not sure what I would do with it.

I ended up not getting one and just getting creative with my setup.
