Using an eGPU with my gaming laptop with a dead GPU. How would it work?

Hi, I have question to the pc experts out there. For a year now, my gaming laptop has been experiencing an issue which it doesn't detect my GPU. so, what happened?
My first encounter of this was, when I was playing a GPU demanding game, it froze and crashed (BSOD). That's when I noticed when my GPU drivers were missing from my device manager and the PCIe Controller x16 driver was marked by a triangle yellow sign saying "This device cannot start. Code 10, An ACPI Power Object failed to transition state", tried to uninstall the drivers as it usually fixes itself and installs it back automatically, but this time it didn't install itself. The yellow triangle with the same error also affected the PCI Express Root Complex, I uninstalled both drivers and after a dozen of tries of uninstalling and automatically reinstalling, the GPU Drivers comes back up in some occasions. But it couldn't handle much of a GPU stress to have a BSOD again, the BSOD Errors were, video_dxgkrnl_fatal_error or Driver_Power State_Failure. Tried reinstalling windows10 and comes back up but it usually ends up with the same thing, BSOD and driver errors. Also, I can't open NVIDIA Control Panel and it's saying it can't detect my GPU, tried using DDU, updating windows and downgrading and updating my GPU Drivers, also tried updating my BIOS. Tried cleaning and repasting my gaming laptop to see if there is any difference, and unfortunately it didn't. during my gaming time, tried to cool my laptop off as much as possible, elevated the back end, had a cooler on and I made sure it doesn't get past 85 degree celsius. and it happened. I'm not sure what caused this, either maybe hardware or driver related but it killed my GPU for sure.
At this point, I had completely given up and was considering just building a PC instead. But I stumbled upon ETA PRIME's YouTube video where he used a M.2 GPU dock to attach an external GPU to an old laptop or mini-PC, since my laptop has 2 M.2 Slots, I was considering this a viable idea than just building a PC since mine was a decent spec. But I was thinking Connecting an external GPU to an extra slot of M.2 in my laptop, would the same error happen if plugged in another GPU? Would PCIe Controller x16 and PCI Express Root Complex encounter the same problems and errors? What are your thoughts about this guy's, I would deeply appreciate the help.

Hey, I'm dealing with the exact same dead GPU nightmare on my Acer Aspire 7 (GTX 1650). I'm hitting the exact same Code 10 and PCIe controller errors.
Did you end up trying that M.2 eGPU dock? Did it successfully bypass the dead internal GPU, or did those PCIe motherboard errors block the external card too? Let me know if you actually found a workaround or if the board was just a lost cause.

Worked for me after doing many try and error methods. Just downgrade your bios from your manufacturer website
Hope this helps

Can you elaborate on this?
