Xtreme Xperience - worth it?

I've always wondered about these track experiences. Several hundred dollars for only a few laps, but can't imagine when else I would ever have the opportunity to drive cars like these. Has anybody done one of these before? Are they worth it?

nooo i bought this for my bf’s birthday and now i’m scared it won’t be worth it. i read this thread and another, and i mean ik it’s going to be short but it’s not like it’s an experience you get often right? does anyone know of any other driving experiences of the sort that would be better? in california
Apprehensive_Big8530@reddit
It was super fun and worth it! Your boyfriend will be wanting to drive for longer for sure.
golden_caracol@reddit
oops i just saw your update, yeah that’s what i was worried abt. i hope your bf still enjoyed it! did you buy the pass to go watch him drive?
nastynf@reddit
it is what it is. i purchased it for tomorrow for my stepdad, MONTHS in advanced, and yes multi laps for the porsche 911 was already booked. i was forced to do only 3. they’ll appreciate it either way. i also did buy a pass to watch, i replied to one of ur other comments, for the event 2 years ago for my man. and u can see just fine. they were a little weird abt taking photos for us in front of the cars but idgaf. on the website it says that’s allowed. so i wasn’t taking no for an answer. they j said hurry up and that’s what we did. but the instructor that was in the car w my man was very kind and mostly everyone was nice.
golden_caracol@reddit
you bet i’m gonna want to take pictures 😭😭 i hope he gets a good instructor. have fun tmrw!
nastynf@reddit
it went great!

I think the fact that you were thoughtful enough to do this for him will make it amazing! It's one thing to buy it for yourself, but completely different when it's a loving gesture. Assuming he's not a total prick, I suspect he will appreciate it immensely.
golden_caracol@reddit
you’re right, you’re righttt ik he’ll appreciate it regardless
WarmObligation5232@reddit
how’d this go? 😅
golden_caracol@reddit
lol so i bought it so far in advance. it’s not until august actually so i’ll have to see 😭
golden_caracol@reddit
i’m still in suspense
WarmObligation5232@reddit
😭 my gf gifted this for my birthday, and tbh, despite the things i’ve heard im still excited. the gift alone means so much + i get to drive one of my favorite cars??????
if i remember ab this post ill update you on my experience fs
golden_caracol@reddit
awwww that’s so sweet i love thatt, that definitely gives me more hope 😭 i hope you have sm fun and if you do remember abt this thread i’d love to hear how it went 🙏🏽
nastynf@reddit
i bought two supercars 3 laps each for my bf two years ago. he LOVED it. yes it’s quick but the adrenaline rush and being in some of ur fav cars is worth it even for a short amount of time. bc not all of us will be making enough money ever in life to be able to own these cars. not to mention, we live in NJ and did the track in NJ. even if we did say own a porsche 911, driving it on jersey roads everyday is a bust. you’ll never get the feel u do on a legit racetrack where u can go as fast as u want. i hear ppl saying the instructors encouraged them to slow down or something. that didn’t happen to my bf. the instructor actually said he was a rlly good driver and was motivating him if anything. said it was his favorite gift he’s ever received besides my existence lmao
golden_caracol@reddit
see i thought abt doing that but 1 car for 3 laps was like over $1,000 so i was like i can not afford to get him a 2nd car 😭 but that’s good to hear! putting it into perspective like that is so true. i love that he said that last part, so sweet 🫶🏽
Apprehensive_Big8530@reddit
I’ll let you know how it goes, bought one for my bf we are here right now!
golden_caracol@reddit
omg i love that, go to bf gift
yes pls lmk !! have fun 😁

Our Xtreme Xperience Review – My Daughter’s 21st Birthday Gift
I got this experience as a 21st birthday gift for my daughter, and she completed it yesterday in New Hampshire. It was definitely a memorable and exciting experience — something she’ll always remember. The thrill of driving a supercar made it a special birthday gift, and overall, it was worth doing at least once.
That said, there were a few things that could have been better. Once you arrive, you go through a short training session. At the end of it, they try to upsell a $75 ride-along so you can see a lap before driving yourself. We also purchased the highest level of insurance, but during training they said if two or four tires touch the side of the track, they automatically charge $200 to inspect the car. That part felt a bit intimidating — almost like they were discouraging drivers from going too fast.
At the beginning, they tell you it’s a non-governing track and you can go as fast as you want, but later the warnings made it feel more restricted. My daughter was worried about making a mistake instead of fully enjoying the drive, which was disappointing.
Still, she had fun and I’m glad we did it. I noticed some people bought extra laps afterward, so I think it depends on how much you enjoy the speed and how much you’re willing to spend. Overall, it’s a good experience, just wish it was handled a little better

I just did it last week at Atlanta Motorsports park in a Porsche GT3 - very nice but agree that compared to my BMW CCA experience on Road Atlanta in the past, much much shorter snd more controlled - didn't know the course well enough to really push it hard.
llsmom@reddit
Is this the only business that allows you to do this sort of thing? Maybe it’s time for a competitor so the price will go down!
Frosty_Session_1721@reddit
Go buy a bunch of 250$+ cars , and haul them all over , get people willing to sit with a stranger .. and do it for less .. prob gonna be hard to do. Millions to get it off the ground ..
No_Year1578@reddit
Yes 100% worth it every penny
IntelligentReturn868@reddit
Waste of money. 3 laps and it's over and you have someone jabbering in your ear the whole time.
BreadfruitKitchen738@reddit
I did one. It was fun but by the time I was comfortable enough to start pushing any speed it was over.
CrazyMarlee@reddit
Pretty expensive. I don't know if you live close to either Atlanta or LA, but I did a Porsche Experience with a Cayman S and 911 S and can tell you it was definitely worth it.
It would be neat to compare Ferrari vs Corvette, the problem with 3 laps is you barely have time to get used to the car and the track.
ZippyWoodchuck@reddit (OP)
It would be nice to get a half dozen laps so you can at least settle in for last couple. But they probably know that when people start getting comfortable is when things go bad...
2fast2nick@reddit
If you're a good driver, they are pretty OK with you going as fast as you can. They only tend to say something if you are driving dangerously. I've had a few friends almost spin out, catch it, drive out of it.. the instructor was like "nice save"
jrileyy229@reddit
You can do multiple entries for more laps... But of course you have to pay for it.
It's really not even that... Things aren't going to go bad, that's why you have a babysitter... And they're making sure you're braking and turning way under the cars capability.
Most people are too scared anyway, it's a lot for your brain to process... And that's what makes it fun for someone with zero track or zero supercar experience.
2fast2nick@reddit
I've done a few. It's ok, keep in mind its an incredibly small track. So your 5-10 laps will be over in a few minutes. If you are ok with blowing $400 for it, go for it.
I think I'd rather spend more money and do the Porsche Experience or something where you actually get some more seat time.
jrileyy229@reddit
I have direct experience.... Have you ever been on a track before or in a fast car? If the answer to both of those is no, then a few hundred bucks is worth it.
As you can imagine, It's not a free-for-all... You have a babysitter with you. They'll let you plant it on the straightaway, but They're going to have you braking easy and early, and cornering way less than the car can do... And if it's a longer track, they will run it with a shortened configuration. Protect the tires, brakes, and car.... Keep those groupon'ers cycling through quickly.
Having said that .. cornering at 60% in a Ferrari on a track can still be thrilling if you're used to a Toyota Corolla.

Love this feedback. I drive a lifted 4Runner, so even a Corolla with summer tires would seem fast to me.
galacticjuggernaut@reddit
Lifted 4runner here as well. I damn e-bike would feel faster. That said I LOVE my 4runner and will never part with her.
