Can I shower naked at the communal showers at the swimming pool?

I’m a 16 year old male and goes swimming a lot and want to shower there instead of at home as I’m always there and it will save time and be more convenient. The showers that are at the swimming pool are single sex and completely in closed from public view of anyone not in the showers. They don’t have any signs saying you can’t and I have saw 2 other people showering naked. Is it ok to shower naked do you think!

The only showers at my preferred swimming pool are open and on display at the poolside... so in that situation, no... the whole pool doesn't want to see your bits. If it's a private room and or single cubicles, away from public eye, then sure go ahead i don't see any problem with it. if other people do they could ask you not to in future I guess but as long as the staff and you are okay with it, that's a them problem. I doubt some old guy is gonna complain about it, they're more likely todo it too

Since I’m in a similar situation, I’m curious what conclusion you came to. At my pool, there are lockable shower stalls and then the communal shower with several heads. I always use the communal one because I can’t stand those narrow cubicles. I’ve noticed some guys shower there without ever taking off their swim shorts — they keep them on until they’re back in the changing room.
I’m not trying to put on a show or anything, but when I shower I do like to take my shorts off for a moment so I can wash properly and rinse the shorts. The nudity lasts less than a minute. The family area, women, and young children all have their own sections, though older teens sometimes come through to rinse off. The showers aren’t facing the pool, and no one can see me unless they actually walk into the shower area.
I was raised to be very modest, and it’s taken me a long time to feel comfortable in my own body. I want to be brave without making anyone uncomfortable. But now that I’m in Switzerland, I’m surprised — contrary to what people say, the older folks here are either doing elaborate towel dances or showering fully clothed. What is going on? There is no sign in the male shower area about not showering nude or otherwise.

I always shower naked before and after swimming, especially since always coming back after a heavy glutes workout, and I can care less who’s there. I’ll even go when it’s youth swimming and sometimes the shower is full of young boys as I’m coming in. It doesn’t seem to bother anyone and I’m always one of the first ones to leave the shower, and I take my sweet time. Do people look or stare? Yes it happens sometimes, but the one that excessively stare are very jealous.

Was about to say this. I am 45 so went to school in the 80's and naked communal showers after PE were the norm, so we got used to it in primary school. We even had communal changing rooms in clothes shops. It was also common to turn up at a friend's house to be told he was still in bed, get sent upstairs by his mum to wake him up, and then he would get dressed infront of you, which I reckon doesn't happen anymore as you would contact each other first before just turning up at 08:00 on a Sunday morning unannounced. I go to a Better UK gym that schools and kids use a lot gym. They recently changed the rules. They recently put up signs requesting everyone wear swim shorts even in the men’s communal shower. In a public municipal swimming pool in the UK with single sex changing rooms i don't see naked people in the showers.
In Gyms and sport centers its completely different.
Often Dads take their children into the men's changing rooms including little girls. Due to the more family orientated nature of municipal swimming pools I think it's ill advised to shower naked and wholly unnecessary. I do see me washing their privates with swimming trunks on if they are that desperate to have a complete wash. Most people just rinse of the chlorine or have a very quick wash.

Usually you want to shower and change into fresh clothes after entering the pool. Keeping the trunks on whilst showering obviously doesn't achieve that, may as well just shower when you get home at that point.
I also don't see how this issue isn't applicable to the Onsen situation in Japan. If you opt to go somewhere with kids of the opposite gender then obviously you're going to run into this problem. A lot of people want to do something after they've gone for a swim and want to be fully showered. Not a half-ass'd shower. My PoV is it should just be the same for Gyms and public swimming areas. Is it wrong for a guy to have his dick out whilst taking a piss as there's a little girl with her father in the toilets? Obviously not. Same thing here.

Some schools in the UK open their pools to the public as a part of the councils leisure membership, or on the their own accord, before and after school hours, and for extended periods during off term times.

Gyms I've been to, often have curtains that separate the cubicles but you still have to come out naked. I was in prison and I got very used to no privacy and I don't care whether I or others shower naked.

There's a regular at the pool I go to that also takes his razor and shaving foam to the showers with him. He'll then be occupying one of the showers for 20 minutes, showering and then shaving (his face, thankfully). All done naked. I wouldn't mind but there's only 3 showers so one person using one of them for so long creates a queue.
So yeah, you're absolutely fine to shower naked. I only shower naked in a cubicle, but if you're not as self-conscious as I am then good for you.

At my swimming pool, there are communal (unisex) showers right next to the swimming pool and cubicle showers within the single sex changing rooms. The convention (which I agree with) is that people in the communal showers should wear swimwear, and if you wanna shower naked, do it in private.
I do not want to see someone's genitals or arse while I'm doing lengths or playing with my kids on the floats.
It's also worth remembering that teenage boys can get erections for all kinds of reasons, and if you're there with a stalk on next to a 10-year-old girl, you can rightly expect a hostile reaction. So tread very carefully.

As someone who has lived in Iceland for the best part of twenty years the question is a little stranger.
If you don't wash naked (before entering) the swimming pool in Iceland, you will be scolded by the guests and/or staff. For good reason, nobody wants to swim in your genital sweat or the soap stuck to your swimming shorts. Chlorine is kept to a minimum with this policy. Nakedness around people of the same gender is completely normal and it's a little prudish to think otherwise.

Why don't you ask the staff? The swimming pool we go to is mostly communal and there are one or two notices up that are actually not easy to find which say not to go naked in the communal area. They have small male and female only areas with showers where both myself and my 10 year old son can shower and change and be naked should we so wish. I'm 53 and don't really care but females and other families also have the right to not see me and my boy parading round naked and ultimately I would hate to offend others just because I have no issue. We have always been very liberal in our house and have always taught that nakedness and your body is nothing to be ashamed of or shy about but I think it's not wholly common especially with all the news we hear about weirdos etc. I tried showering with swimming shorts on and it was awful so I normally go home and shower straight away if we don't use the male only facilities. If you are on full view in your pool's showers, I wouldn't do it to avoid any grief from anyone.

Generally, people don’t. Gyms tend to have separate showers for people who want to shower naked. Look for the dry changing rooms and you’ll find separate shower cubicles.
That said, some people do shower naked like that. I’ve only ever seen old men doing it (65+).
Be prepared for anyone to see you though. A father may bring his young daughter into the changing room as he can’t go into the female room. Likewise, a mother may burst in if her son is in there and has forgotten something.
