I know a guy who lives in the 4500 block of Chala rd. I know nothing about this case but that looks like his complex. He lives right next to the lake.
Frequent-Visit7649@reddit
Let’s start with process of elimination. What’s his stance on bodies wrapped in plastic?
isthis1taken78@reddit
Turns out it was him. I was in that apartment about six months ago.
Foreign_Knowledge_90@reddit
As in, he was the body wrapped in the carpet?
isthis1taken78@reddit
Yes I knew Johnny Mac and this was mostly about drugs. He struggled with them. I was in that apartment no later than mid July. I was not a good friend we had a mutual friend and I met him through him.
PopularReflection8@reddit
I honestly kind of wondered when I saw that both of the perpetrators were 20yo kids
isthis1taken78@reddit
Never met the two suspects.
bio-nically@reddit
I need to know this too.
isthis1taken78@reddit
Yes I knew Johnny
dankgpt@reddit
It's close to the lake, murderer was probably waiting until dark to dump body.
PopularReflection8@reddit
Sadly, I don't think they thought that far ahead. According to neighbors the smell was progressively getting worse.
Joyboy9000@reddit
“He’s been on our radar for some time” then why didn’t y’all do your job and take care of this before this happened
AccomplishedLove6169@reddit
RIP, man it’s getting savage out here in Garland, moving to little elm
TheSpivack@reddit
I wonder, what is the circumstance when finding a body on the floor wrapped in several layers of material wouldn't be a sign of foul play.
Anon_Bourbon@reddit
When it's a black teenager at High School and the material is a rolled up gym carpet.

Thank you. Kendrick Johnsonv. He deserved better.
Basic_Barbie90@reddit
I remember reading that story! So sad!
BabySharkFinSoup@reddit
You really don’t think that was an accident?
SilverBubble1@reddit
The amount of downvotes you got is honestly surprising for reddit, plenty of dumb people pretending to be smart
BabySharkFinSoup@reddit
I am truly surprised that so many people here seem to still believe it was murder. I feel so badly for his family, but I just don’t know what anyone can point to as real evidence that says it was murder? I think it’s just a very sad, very unfortunate case.
SilverBubble1@reddit
People see what they think is a hate crime then ignore all evidence that contradicts this, such as lack of blood outside the mat, the supposed murderers having airtight alibis, the too short of a time window to both kill kendrick and then wrap him up in there. Similar freak accidents were people fall into a space and die from getting stuck, etc. Whats worse is how despite all the evidence to the contrary, two football players are to thos day slandered by the family as murderers
BabySharkFinSoup@reddit
Very well stated. They have also had many people who supported them early on in the investigation come out and say there just simply is no evidence that suggests it was a murder. It is a tragic cases. I can’t blame them for wanting it fully investigated because it is one of those freak accidents no one ever expects to happen, much less to their own child. I hate that this happened to Kendrick, I hate his family has to go on with this hole in their heart that will never be fully healed. But, every single thing points to an accident. And punishing people who have video proof of an alibi, along with a room of witnesses for one brother, while the other brother has a geographically time constrained alibi…at some point it becomes malicious. I often wonder if they feel guilt over him not having a locker, or sharing shoes, and by looking at others to blame it helps them not think of the what ifs. (Note: I don’t think the family has any blame for his death, but I often know people reflect on the things that could have been different and have some internalized guilt over that)
SilverBubble1@reddit
I understand losing a child especially under some odd circumstances is hard for people to deal with. But it feels malicious many years later when multiple investigations are done that prove the contrary. If i recall, the two white athletes were rivals of kendrick. I wonder if it might be out of spite given that sports rivalvry.
BabySharkFinSoup@reddit
I believe he had actually been friends with one brother, Bryan, although my spelling might be off on that. The father of Kendrick came out and said that they had recently been in a fight on a bus before his death, at the time it was rumored it was over a girl. But as the truth tends to do, it came out that it was almost a year prior and on a team bus. Bryan was peeing in a bottle when Kendrick shoved him messing around and he got pee on himself, which lead to a tussle and them both not being allowed to ride back on the bus. And they had, by all accounts made up after. They weren’t close, but IIRC, they weren’t on bad terms, according to classmates.
I couldn’t believe FSU pulled his scholarship. He had no legal charges, and had turned down other scholarships to attend there. I really feel that was unfair. The lady from the NAACP who initially helped investigate the story, and eventually left her role due to feeling the NAACP was ignoring the reality of evidence, even went to bat for him at a hearing at FSU. However, it was noted that the lawyer for Kendrick’s family, Benjamin Crump, frequented the campus often, and is also part of the reason they rescinded their scholarship offer.
captainn_chunk@reddit
Is this satire?
BabySharkFinSoup@reddit
No, I followed that case very closely and at this point I think it’s pretty clear the family is struggling with an enormous loss but can’t accept the reality that it was indeed a tragic accident.
North_One_5857@reddit
Weirdo
BabySharkFinSoup@reddit
Just facts over a conspiracy that would involve multiple groups of teens to keep their silence over a decade. ✌️
North_One_5857@reddit
No, you’re just a dense individual that lacks critical thinking so you just rather believe what’s given to you. Spitting out some hollow facts about proceedings POST incident. No solid facts on how that little boy died and rolled HIMSELF up in a 100 lb carpet .. on school grounds.
Yes sure definitely just an accident. “Guess he just rolled himself up in the carpet in case death was too cold. “
Lol you’re so goofy.
BabySharkFinSoup@reddit
His friend literally said they put the shoes in the bottom of the rolled up mats. Which typically they could tip over and retrieve. However, over the Christmas break, the gym had work done and more mats were stacked up around the one that held the shoes so he couldn’t tip it over like usual.
There was a 3 minute window of time for someone to murder him and roll him up in a mat that weighs a lot already, much less without a body in it. It’s just not feasible that a person did that in three minutes before the PE class started.
Literally all these facts are easily accessible.
Go read any of the countless write ups on this case discussing evidence, not conspiracies that have refutable evidence.
captainn_chunk@reddit
I love how you throw the word conspiracy around like it’s not an actual legal term used in endless murder cases across the last 75 years.
BabySharkFinSoup@reddit
Use whatever word you wish. Theory based in no facts? Unfounded claims? That suit you better?
ZinethRed@reddit
https://www.reddit.com/r/UnresolvedMysteries/s/ZCcHwEmfWR if you really want to do some critical thinking maybe just actually read up on the case for 5 mins.

bill_burge@reddit
So just what kind of material are we talking about here?
splinkymishmash@reddit
Chaha road is in Rowlett. May be Garland police on the case, but this happened in Rowlett.
rsc02@reddit
There are two "parts" of Chaha Road. This particular section is right by Bass Pro Shops and is in Garland.
A_Homestar_Reference@reddit
yeah looking at google maps...that's trippy. I wonder if it's a relic of old roads before Lake Ray Hubbard. They line up so it would make sense.
insta-kip@reddit
I love hyper local arguments.
MethanyJones@reddit
I love streets named after southern hemisphere birds.
Where I lived once in the Uruguayan countryside if you heard the Chaja birds screaming nearby that usually meant someone was coming up the road or livestock was loose. Otherwise they were silent - a great natural nighttime alarm system.
calm--cool@reddit
I just looked up the Chaja. What a stunning lil guy. Google also tells me it’s also called a “Southern Screamer”. That’s fun.
W96QHCYYv4PUaC4dEz9N@reddit
That was the nickname of my last girlfriend
captainn_chunk@reddit
High probability that this road was not named after the bird
splinkymishmash@reddit
I live in Garland. I wasn’t gonna let them uppity Rowletters cast shade on my town! But then it turns out it was our shade after all 😳
insta-kip@reddit
To be fair, I thought they had renamed the Garland one to “bass pro drive”, but I guess it’s just that part by the interstate.
Witty-Injury1963@reddit
What’s sad is two young people who to me look like they are on Meth killed an innocent man who did not deserve it and threw away their lives just because of drugs most likely.
moneyinthebank216@reddit
god i wish that were me
Plenty_Ad5859@reddit
U ok?
mathguy690@reddit
Chris and Snoop left someone in a vacant again smh
MercuryChaos@reddit
As someone who was raised in Garland, this seems to support my hypothesis that Garland never makes the news for good reasons.
bluejeane@reddit
Damn. At one (low) point of my younger years, I almost signed a lease here. Sheesh!
AnastasiaNo70@reddit
Garland and Arlington. The two Dallas-area cities with the most evil in them.
Y’all know it’s true.
dankgpt@reddit
I mean the whole metroplex is becoming like that...
FaxxMaxxer@reddit
Garland and Arlington served as the inspiration for King of the Hill’s Arlen, TX. The show certainly doesn’t portray it as an evil city, nor does my lived experience working and living all over the metroplex for 30 years.
Please explain? Bc if your reasoning is poor people, I’d argue the correlation between poverty and violence is a global worldwide phenomenon.
AnastasiaNo70@reddit
It was a joke.
Zoti@reddit
Looks like someone was preparing it for...
Chipping!
Ahyeeeeeeeee
Goombamaxy@reddit
Does it matter? Murder/foul play is unacceptable people period
