I like the C8's overall proportions, but OMG the number of holes and creases on it makes it look like it was sat on by a giant baby making vroom vroom noises. It simply tries too hard. C6 was pretty elegant from the outside.

Give it 5-6 years, once the depreciation kicks in they'll be cross shoppable on the used market. Not even trolling, some of the 2022s on the second hand market have lost as much as $70,000+ in value already with less than 3k miles on the clock.

Maseratis look expensive and flashy even when they are worth $25k. A Corvette always looks like a Corvette. If you want a performance car, there is an obvious answer. If you want to look good there is an obvious answer. I would take the Corvette any day but I understand why people buy Maseratis. What other occasion lets me wear my jorts?

They ARE selling like crazy is the wilder part. Corvette sales numbers were 46,865 in the US for 2023 alone, The Ford Mustang US sales were 53,159. The Toyota supra at peak hype in 2021 sold 6,890 US units. 1771 Zs were sold last year. 44,960 Challengers were sold lasr year. In 1 year GM has sold more than half of the Toyota FRS numbers over 9 YEARS. So yea, it may look like an Edgy geometry project, but it's a sales marvel and a performance monster.

They dont need to is the fun part, the Corvette US sales numbers are still more than most competitors worldwide. The Corvette also sold 6,920 units outside of the US, with 2,195 of those in Europe. To show how little your logic matters, despite most of the strength being in the U.S market, the Corvette outsold the 911 by more than 3500 units WORLDWIDE. 2 main markets matter for Sports and Luxury cars in this world, China and the U.S, most other markets are just side quests.

You wouldn’t even need a Zora, or a ZR1 for that matter. A Z07 equipped Z06 would run handle this thing with no problem, and for around $170K.

I seriously doubt that. This thing is lighter (even accounting for Maserati underspecifying the weight of the MC20), only slightly less powerful, and makes way more downforce than the Z06 even with the Z07 package.

We’ll certainly see if these cars ever come into contact, but I’m holding onto the notion that it’d be very close, especially with the Z06/Z07 having considerably more mechanical grip from the sheer size of its tires. The true weight of the Stradale remains to be seen, as we went from Maserati quoting less than 3307lbs, to it actually weighing in at 3757lbs.

As with any italian car, it’s something you buy with your heart and not with any sort of rational thinking. The MC20 is significantly edgier to drive than the c8 variants, and looks absolutely stunning. On paper no alfa, ferrari, maserati will be worth it vs american sports cars. but if I had a choice I’d absolutely take the maserati over equivalently priced corvette.
