ULPT request: how can I profit from a Trump presidency?
Posted by think_harder_plz@reddit | UnethicalLifeProTips | View on Reddit | 50 comments
Trump announced today that he wants to get rid of all censorship and emphasized the need for completely unfettered free speech. This seems to me like it might make it harder to pursue certain things legally.
How might one profit from this new circumstance or from his presidency in general?
WickedSerpent@reddit
Work overtime, it's tax free income.
SuspendedResolution@reddit
So you still sure about this?
WickedSerpent@reddit
I'm not. he's not president yet. Time will tell if he holds that promise.
SuspendedResolution@reddit
MMW, he's going to be the most destructive president in American history for labor rights.
WickedSerpent@reddit
Maybe. So much shit happened economically in his last term like covid, and then some conflicts led to escalation under biden (Ukraine, Israel). We're still paying for all that now, so it's hard for anyone to even know how the presidents affect the economy at all when everything is expencive. CNN, Fox, Msnbc is also straight up missinformation when it comes to politically chraged subject.
SuspendedResolution@reddit
I mean, he told people at the beginning of COVID that they should take hydroxychloroquine (anti malaria) and ivermectin (anti parasitic) to combat COVID. RFK as health minister is not even a shock to me given his reaction to COVID.
Check out ground.news if you're looking to gain better prospectives on news articles.
WickedSerpent@reddit
Ivermectin also acts as anti-inflammation which did help some lungs, but the only reason RFK even thought Ivermectin was a wonderdrug is because Joe Rogan got it in a cocktail of drugs from his doctor and CNN lied about it calling it "a horse-dewormer".
Allot of men listens to Rogan, and what CNN did hurt their trustworthyness for dacades to come because they got cought. I actually blame CNN for the dems losing this election, because that shit made so many people lose trust in cnn and msnbc to conspiritorial proportions. Harris had to be fucking perfect to even stand a chance. But allot of people listen to podcasts man.. Couple that with all the woke shit, and all the "reimagination" of history in both Israel and the Ukraine conflicts and you have yourself a losing election. Even Sanders wouldn't have stood a chance this election.
NecessaryAd4587@reddit
Not if he removed overtime, he’s already claimed he doesn’t like it.
WickedSerpent@reddit
Well he proposed it, and working overtime is how you take advantage of it (once he takes office next year). He wouldn't have the power to "remove overtime", and if he did, his republican peers would've crucified him.
Trump claims allot of bullshit, why do you believe a word he says? The only thing that matters and that OP can take advantage of is taxbreaks.
_G_P_@reddit
If you don't believe what he says, why do you believe overtime will be tax free?
Like, how do you select what to believe? Do you have a process?
WickedSerpent@reddit
It's already law in some states. That's why I believe republicans will push for it nationwide. What's your process?
_G_P_@reddit
If I had a business I would love to have the ability to make you work 50hrs and pay for 40.
It just makes sense.
It's irrelevant if the worker pays taxes on OT or not, it's not my problem.
Where I live you can get 4hrs of free OT from your workers (weekly) so if you work 50hrs I only need to pay you for 46.
WickedSerpent@reddit
That's disgusting. I'd change job or even pack up and move if that's the only option.

Wear your MAGA hat in your picture when you troll Grindr for clients. It's cool now.

heyitscory@reddit
So, the plan no matter who is president?
Mooggli@reddit
thats not what my bitcoin wallet says

You hate to root for inflation, but inflation happens whether you root for it or not, I guess.
I'm still poking my XRP with a stick every once in a while.

“He wants to get rid of censorship and allow free speech” = “it will make it hard to pursue things legally” I’m not here for a debate I’m just confused as to what this is referring to. If people are allowed to say and do whatever then wouldn’t it make it easier to pursue things legally?
ArmThePhotonicCannon@reddit
If speech is truly free and you can legally say what ever you want it causes problems. Slander? Legal. Libel? Legal. Harassment? Legal.
Brainsonastick@reddit
This is not at all true.
There are things called torts. They’re actions that may not be against the law but are grounds for civil suit and recovery of damages. Slander is one such tort. It isn’t illegal to defame someone but it is a tort.
ArmThePhotonicCannon@reddit
Then it isn’t completely free speech

You are not the brightest bulb.

We all are going to profit from a Trump presidency my friend.
InstantClassic257@reddit
please explain how tariffs will do that
cptjaydvm@reddit
The most effective part about tariffs are the threat of tariffs. It will bring manufacturers back to the US and employ Americans to build stuff here rather than overseas. That’s good for everyone. It also curbs Chinese intellectual property theft. Trump imposed tariffs when he was president before and the economy was gangbusters.

Lots of talk of investing in private prison companies to cash in on mass deportations

If there is no censorship whatsoever then why not sell “F trump” stuff. Shirts. Blankets. Cups. Everything. Per the to-be prez himself, it’s absolutely legal.
And the best legal there is!! There’s no better legal than this!!

Well judging by my currently owned stocks, if you purchase stocks and crypto it'll probably skyrocket even more than it already has since election day
(This is pure conjecture but Bitcoin alone has been on a weeklong high and rising every day)

This is the pre-crash panic market. Lots of companies buying up supplies in anticipation of tariffs.

Well if he's open to complete non censoring, pirn is an option again
