Side swiped car while it’s parking

I feel like an absolute idiot. Today I was coming home from college classes, I was on Jericho turnpike, Long Island NY. There’s was on going traffic. Green light was on- As I’m driving a car a head of me is trying to back into a parking spot- with on coming traffic… I figured she should’ve waited- But I got impatient and tried to get around her- I side swiped my passenger side mirror against her card- my mirror inverted in. She honked so loud and long- I took off 😔 I made my right turn- I slowed down figuring she would chase after me… I’m not sure if there was significant damage to her car- I assume she has a camera that caught me in the act. I feel like an idiot… I should’ve waited my turn to pass her after she finished parking. I don’t know what I was thinking???? All to catch a green light??? I guess I’m wondering??? If she does have video evidence- How much trouble will I be in??? My car isn’t scratched. But I know she maybe able to lie to insurance. Any advice? And YES I KNOW ITS MY FAULT.

First off, OP delete this Second off, if your mirror has no scratches then it’s unlikely you left bad enough damage to where they’d chase you down Third off, what’s done is done , no need to beat yourself up .

In New York State, leaving the scene of an accident without first exchanging all relevant information with the other party(s) , is considered a class B misdemeanor. Punishable by a 250-500$ fine, and/or 90 days in jail.

The hit and run is definitely much worse than whatever you would pay to fix such a minor ding

I would be most worried about whether or not she is going to report you for a hit and run

What does "her card" mean. I assume you mean "car." I guess it depends on the extent of the scratches...how deep, how long. But I doubt she makes contact. If she does, your insurance will have to pay--or you will.

Yes , car - spelling error. My mirror is fine- but worried I may have scratched her car?

if you did, you would see some evidence of this on the mirror. i would not lose any sleep over this. sounds too minor for her to bother with.
