Machine shop

I have a e36 that I was planing to do a built motor and turbo with and the machine shop I dropped my parts off at has not replied to me at all for a couple weeks now. Im.just curious what other people's experience with shops has been and if I should be concerned?

Machining is becoming a lost skill. Most guys that are good have a wait time from a few months to over a year.

I’d go down there and find out what’s up. Good machinists aren’t always good business men.

Did your machine shop give you any kind of timeline on your work? It isn't unusual for good shops to have ong wait times for work. I've had work take months to turn around.

No specific done date just said would take a few months. Just seemed weird not to hear from them and figured I'd ask what others think or have experienced themselves.

I guess the next question would be, is this the kind of operation were the same guy running machines is answering phones?
If its feasible, I would just go there and check progress myself

Any shop that can't return a call for weeks isn't a shop I want to drop money at.

They were absolutely fine with replies for the first month or 2 and then stopped.

I'd be up there in person tomorrow asking why the communication stopped then. Hopefully they have a good explanation
