High pitched noise from CPU
Posted by Goldencami@reddit | buildapc | View on Reddit | 4 comments
Hi everyone, I recently built a pc and the cpu started to make this high pitched noise. I made sure to stop each fan to see if one of them was the issue but that wasn’t the case, the sound does come from the cpu. When I did a prebuilt test I didn’t hear any sound. Is there a way I could fix this problem?

I'm guessing it's the pump and it doesn't sound happy

Agree, sounds like a pump with an air bubble trapped inside. Make sure the radiator and ideally it's inlets are above the cpu pump block.

Hello, yeah the radiator is above my cpu. The fans on top are the ones screwed to the radiator. I apologize in advance if I get a terminology wrong, this is my first pc i build so im new to this

Looks good, try tilting the front of the pc up to help any bubbles float out of the cpu block up into the radiator.
It sometimes just has to run for a while to get all the air out and settled into the highest point.
If it doesn't eventually stop and you're sure it's the pump, it may be defective and you might try replacing the whole aio, especially if it's within the return window.
