Got caught up in traffic right before the I-17 split. Sat at a stand still for an hour.

It snows in Arizona? I’m not even being funny
TruckinBob32@reddit (OP)
Yup. Even down near Tucson.
Natural_Tomorrow4784@reddit
Here I am I’m New Jersey and it was 80 all day and it’s like a fucking July night right now lol
Rzymatic@reddit
I’m from NJ as well, I definitely thought Arizona didn’t get a hint of snow until I started trucking.
Saffyr3_Sass@reddit
Also from NJ. And I said the same thing, it snows in Arizona? When I was going through flagstaff for my first time in winter when it actually snowed there. That was my second year in trucking actually.
Natural_Tomorrow4784@reddit
Yeah when this Arizona snow is the last thing that crossed my mind LOL
TruckinBob32@reddit (OP)
Yeah nice little winter storm came through. Hit Flagstaff all the way to Albuquerque.
Natural_Tomorrow4784@reddit
That’s crazy. I learned something new today
TruckinBob32@reddit (OP)
Yeah just look up Mount Lemmon. It's where we Tusconans go to get out of the heat during summer and go play in the snow during winter. It's only like 30 minutes from downtown Tucson
Natural_Tomorrow4784@reddit
Definitely going to check that out

It snows in Arizona and it’s 80 degrees in New England, the weather shifted

Flagstaff is one of the snowiest cities in the USA

I hate Flagstaff. Trucking has ruined all scenic mountainous areas for me. They just get my heart racing now.
Troubador222@reddit
My wife and I spent 2 weeks there just last month. It’s a beautiful area. There are 3 National Monuments right in the area and you are within easy driving distance to The Grand Canyon and Petrified Forest National Park. We really enjoyed it. The only thing we did that turned out not to be our thing was Sedona and that was not bad, just over crowded nd mostly expensive shopping.
TruckinBob32@reddit (OP)
I don't mind the mountains....during the summer.
Dangerous_Ad4451@reddit
Go back there tomorrow with a cam. You will see them blowing pass in 70mph. Crazy people
Unfair_Fisherman_605@reddit
Flagstaff And Williams both get hammered with snow.
TruckinBob32@reddit (OP)
Yeah it's was snowing all the way to Gallup. Got worse as I got closer to Flagstaff
bootloops30@reddit
I hate Flagstaff area this time of year I've gone as far as to go down 25 to 10 and come back up to get to Phoenix no load of croissants is worth my life.
TruckinBob32@reddit (OP)
Yeah. With some loads they'll have us take the southern route but it depends on the product.
GallopingGobstoppers@reddit
Currently on vacation in Flagstaff. Watching people try to drive like everything was normal this morning was...interesting.
TruckinBob32@reddit (OP)
Yeah it wasn't fun. Still don't understand why people wanna drive 60 on an ice rink.
GallopingGobstoppers@reddit
Because they are either willfully ignorant of road conditions or just think they can conquer the ice should they lose control. We were slipping and sliding just a little while crawling down city streets.
TruckinBob32@reddit (OP)
Yeah. Trying to get going from a complete stop at 76000 pounds was a little tricky. People just need to take it slow. The load will get there when it gets there.
L0quence@reddit
Fun for the tow trucks and wreckers pockets that is.
TruckinBob32@reddit (OP)
Oh yeah. There was 3 different ones couldn't get them in the pics though
JabbaTech69@reddit
Yeah see stuff like this makes me hella thankful I only run in the south east region!!! It might hit 20 degrees in NC during winter but soon as I get to FL it’s like 70+
TruckinBob32@reddit (OP)
Nah, man....nothing like driving 10 mph through a blizzard, not being able to even see your hood in Wyoming. Trying to get somewhere safe to park.
JabbaTech69@reddit
😂😂😂 nope hard pass!!!
skinnyfatt85@reddit
It's still in the 70s around here lol. That's completely normal right? RIGHT?
TruckinBob32@reddit (OP)
It's currently 60 in Phoenix, living here this time of year is nice.
Kkalemauser@reddit
That’s a horrible spot. Accidents happen there or right on the I-17 connection ramp.
At least it’s finally cool down the hill in the valley.
Stay safe driver.
TruckinBob32@reddit (OP)
Yeah, these guys wanted to go 65 on an ice rink and this is what happened.
TruckersTrucking@reddit
An hour? You're lucky it wasn't shut down
TruckinBob32@reddit (OP)
Yeah. Got through before they had to shut it down.
