What is the best CPU to pair up with the RTX 2060 for CPU demanding games?

Hi, I was just making this post to get help from anyone who might know what the best CPU for my budget is to get and pair with my current RTX 2060. I currently have an intel i5-9400f and aim to buy a better CPU to keep up with some of the games I play. I mostly play Rust, Fortnite, FC25 and other, mostly CPU demanding, games. I have a budget of around \~£250 but aiming to spend a portion of my remaining budget on a new motherboard, ram, etc. If I need to give any more information about the build then I can do so but hopefully this amount should suffice and allow you to determine what the best CPU would be for me.

I would replace the i5 with an i7 9900k.

This will hold you just fine until you are ready for a platform upgrade.

With a RTX 2060, I would drop in a used i7 8700 personally. It may be a generation older than what you currently have but it is higher clocks and hyper-threading. Selling the current CPU can also offset the price a bit.

With the current funds once you factor in the price of a new motherboard I don’t see the added cost being worth it with what you can currently get with the money unless your after every bit of cpu performance you can get. I personally think it better to take the cheaper incremental improvement this time and put the rest of the funds for an upgrade in the future.
