Computer stuck on start up logo after installing M.2 SSD

I bought a PNY Gen 4 SSD because people told me my games would run better on a SSD.... I currently use a 2 TB HDD. Also to start id like to say im using a ASRock B550 AM Gaming motherboard. Anyways i installed the SSD but then it just gets stuck on the Cyberpower PC start up logo.. Shit is driving me absolutely insane

not to point out the obvious but...
you did clone or install your OS to the SSD right? and then switched boot order in BIOS?

Im cloning it now. It wasnt even letting me boot into windows when i installed the SSD because my bios needed to be updated (hasnt since 2020) but it took me FOREVER to realize that the bios needed a update & when i did, it booted right up. ASrock doesnt list the B550 AM gaming mother board on their website anymore for some reason but luckily i found the update files on Cyberpower Pcs website from a reddit post of someone else having the same prob

congrats. now you get to experience less than 10 second load times.

Pull out the ssd, update the bios and try the ssd again.
Your board only supports pcie gen 3 m.2 ssds, but the gen 4 drive should be backwards compatible. Sometimes it just doesn't work. If the bios update doesn't fix it, you may need to get a gen 3 ssd instead, especially if the drive doesn't show up in the bios at least.

Yep this was it lol i was stumped as to where to get the update from for a while because Asrock doesnt list the B550AM Gaming Motherboard under the AMD 500 series & luckily i found a reddit post of someone having the same problem & they found the update on Cyberpower Pcs website. Changed a setting in the bios then downloaded it onto a usb & restarted in bios / updated it & it worked. Thanks you

Sounds like the SSD has gone bad somehow
ChengliChengbao@reddit
no it doesnt. a bad ssd would still let the computer boot because their windows installation is on a different dive
DoomTay@reddit
I mean, I've seen a case in person where a PC would just hang at the POST screen when a particular M.2 was hooked up, but then boot normally when it wasn't, even though IIRC the boot drive was a different drive

Did you clone your hdd to it or load a fresh install of windows onto the ssd?
Unicorn_puke@reddit
It's probably higher than your windows drive in the load order so your system is trying to boot from it. Go to bios and switch it
