lol he acted like a human being, and kamala told the same speech 23 times and did 3 interviews.

I swear she was like a ghost, combine that with the news media shilling 24/7. People are tired of the shilling from the media.
Dude the anchor of MSNBC called him Hitler on air and showed pictures of Hitler and Mussolini.
It’s so blatant i can’t even trust any of there reporting, because they so clearly have a bias.
Hmmm do I want to watch JD Vance shoot the shit with Theo von or do I wanna watch a scripted interview with softball questions.
Questions be like Kamala why are you so great all the time?
Meanwhile Theo von and JD Vance are talking about the opioid crisis and how you can’t even do cocaine anymore.
Trump won the youth vote simply because young people don’t watch the news at all.
People would rather a genuinely bad person who has never once known the hardships of life to a regular person who tries to come off as professionally lol
This took one google search. Trump got roughly 16% of black votes, which while not a lot is not insignificant either. We really need to get rid of this narrative that only out of touch white men voted for Trump.
In 2016, Trump only got 6% of black voters. He almost fucking tripled that this election. No matter what way you look at it, he demonstrably became more popular among the black community.

I didn’t truncate your comment, I paraphrased because Reddit was making me restart the comment every time I double checked the wording.
If you look at my comment history all I’ve been saying is that dems lost because our party disgraced us with moronic decisions, but to say that the economy and border security weren’t discussed is disingenuous. An economy that allows the working class to survive has always been a major talking point of democratic candidates for as long as I can remember, and they absolutely discussed border security during the campaign.
The notion that Americans are too racist for a black president loses teeth considering we recently had a black man for two terms.
A person's gender may have an impact, but it is even more important that they are likeable. A person who got 4% of the primary vote from her own party only to get foisted on the constituency four years later anyway is not what I would call a likeable person.
Trump is literally just a better actor, that's all there is to it. Kamala isn't charismatic like Obama was, neither was Hilary. If you want to hold office, you've gotta put on a really good show and trump was doing that all over.
No, it was just that Trump got caught up on COVID ans people were voting against his incompetent handling of the Crisis, and the election was still won by a razor think edge even with that. If COVID hadn'd happened Biden would have almost certainly lost.
Biden won because Trump did a disaster with the pandemic in 2020 and a lot of people who wouldn't have ledt the house to vote had the chance to do so by mail
Or, and hear me out, they just happen to run some of the most unlikeable women in existence. Both Hillary & Kamala are unbearable. Bill doesn’t even like Hillary.
Counterpoint: they run against trump. So we're weighing "unlikeable" versus "one of the most repulsive scumbags to walk god's green earth". Just even pretending like "oh she's unlikeable" FOR A SECOND TIME is even a valid comparison between them is insulting.
Not to forget that Biden, humsn equivalent of undercooked toast, beat him.
"one of the most repulsive scumbags to walk god's green earth"
He's completely unlikable when you pay attention, and when you know his history, and when you keep track of his contradictions, and when you know all his excuses are bullshit.
Without that, it's obvious that people get rude but charismatic straight-shooter vibes from him. Its the dumbest time to assert that no one likes him.
I think the big thing about Kamala people are missing is that voters weren't given the choice to choose her in primaries. When you skip a step in the democratic process like that, you lose a connection to your base.
The one thing that saves him is that 99% of his supporters have lettuce for brains and couldn't distinguish a banana from a gun if the gun had the word "gun" written on it in big, bright red letters, and the banana was a banana split.
The facts don't matter when your entire fanbase has two braincells fighting for third place.
this is a perspective from a leftist kid who lives with a dad that voted republican
i dont think this loss was due to misogyny
well, to some extent, yes, but i will bet that the extent to which it affected the election was very small
first of all, voter turnout on the democratic side dropped significantly this year, and although i do acknowledge that misogyny can cause democrats to not vote, it dropped from 81 mil to 67 mil-too much for me to believe it is due to misogyny
its more likely that the republican tactic of attacking harris/biden's lack of action worked well on left leaning people
second of all, although we see MAGA republicans as "the" republicans, that's really blinded us to, ya know, regular-ass republicans, and i think it may have driven away centrist voters, because a centrist is going to see the left media and their first thought is going to be, "that's not them, what are they saying?"
you may argue it is the same for the right against the left, but the difference is that usually articles discussing MAGA can't point to a certain scapegoat, while republicans were able to point to BLM and scapegoat that for their purposes, making their stance stronger
this is especially true for my dad, since we had to drive through portland when all their glass was covered up with boards and tape
finally, the democratic loss was due to the discussion on social issues. i strongly believe that the greatest mistake of this election was turning social issues, such as abortion, into one of the "big" things they were discussing. it just doesn't have any weight for people who aren't directly affected at it and aren't exposed to the need for that status quo to change.
laws are written in blood, and blood hasn't reached the centrists, which is why i think pushing that policy doesn't work.
but the voter turnout is definitely the biggest thing at work here, considering the turnout dropped sharply, leading to discussion on the effects of actual policy or swing people/states being more supplementary.
TL;DR democrats lost because their strategy couldnt get votes and their previous actions didnt win votes either
but thats just what i think
idk why i typed out this entire thing ig i just dont like people mischaracterizing losses because then we'll never learn and we'll probably never win
Tbh the truth is probably a bit of both. They did choose unlikeable woman that turned many people off, but some of those many people would have been turned off no matter who the woman was just because she was a woman, and some of those were turned off by factors that have nothing to do with their gende r
Unfortunately I think the name Obama is such a meme that she'd always be overshadowed by his legacy. It'd be easy to trot out Thanks Obama with some decade old propaganda and half the US would stick his failings on her because they're stupid as hell.
I think even if Biden had his 2020 mental faculties he wasn’t beating Trump this time.
Covid and muh Russia and a deluge of scandals from Trump’s cabinet made him vulnerable in 2020.
The scandals hanging over Trump right now many perceived as political targeting which made them less effective and those old ones didn’t hold water anymore.
No matter your politics, you have to recognize 2020 as an outlier. We should probably see 2024 as an outlier too, to be fair. Take Covid out of the equation, and either one of those could have turned out totally different.
Honestly, "outliers" are going to be the norm all over the world. Hell, they already are, there was a whole slew of up-to-now surprising elections in the EU too.
Times are changing fast and the initiative is being seized by all sorts of grifters, while the general public hasn't woken up to it yet, lulled into complacency by lack of a serious challenge from proper nut jobs until now.
It's honestly scary how many people look at far right parties and can't hear the dog whistles.
Yooo you might be onto something. He wins against women and loses against men, I think you genuinely have a point now that I think about it and you point that out.
I honestly don't understand this argument. To me, Trump has negative charisma. He rambles incoherently about things like Arnold Palmer's dick, and somehow that means charisma?
🤓☝️Actually, 15 million people who voted in 2020 haven’t voted in 2024, and Trump’s results stayed largely the same. Considering Trump’s 74 mil turned into ≈73 mil, but Biden’s 81 mil turned into Harris’ ≈68 mil, it’s safe to assume that moderate dems just didn’t come out to vote this time.
The notion that Americans are too racist for a black president loses teeth considering we recently had a black man for two terms.
Literally 30% of the country lost their mind over a black man being elected. The backlash is what got Trump elected in 2016. Black civil rights is literally two steps forward, on step back for the last 150 years, every milestone is met with instant and severe pushback.
Most of the women I know, even those who were hardcore democrats until this election, absolutely despised Kamala. Women just hate fake bitches, and oh god was she
And just be bombastic. You don't really even have to make sense. The people who are going to vote for you will do so regardless of what you say. All you really have to do is read the room and see that the current president's approval rating was in the toilet so just say you'll do the exact opposite of what he's been doing, boom you're in
People seriously overreact to being called “racist” or “misogynistic.”
Because the fact is that to be those things doesn’t always mean outright over the top KKK levels of hatred. It’s just enough of a small bias against people in those categories to subtly affect the way you think and act.
Frankly people need to get over being called out for those things. It doesn’t mean you’re a permanently evil villain, it means you have biases. Everybody has biases of some kind or another. That’s why it’s just important to spend a little time thinking about them, not just deflecting because it makes you feel uncomfortable.
Avoiding addressing your mild, benign racism because it makes you uncomfortable is how you slippery slope your way into outright racism. For an example, you can scroll through JK Rowling’s twitter to watch this unfold in real time.
So you’re saying that on a deep, subconscious level everyone hates women and minorities? I don’t think so brother, I think it’s much more likely that you’re just an asshole.
you’re saying that on a deep subconscious level everyone hates women and minorities
I’m not saying that at all. Did you read what I wrote at all?
I said everyone has biases.
There’s two major differences between that and the way you rephrased me.
First of all, a bias against something is not at all hate. It is just as simple as being more likely to pick a different option if given the choice. Most white Americans, if given the choice between a white or a black president, would be more likely to choose white. That isn’t hate, it’s just bias. It’s dangerous to ignore that bias because if you deny it and rationalize it enough, the rationalizations can become hate. A lot of hateful behavior stems from denial and defensiveness.
Second of all, I did not say that all biases are against women and minorities. CERTAINLY many are, but not everyone’s biases are the same. Some people do not have racial or gender biases but do have other ones. All of them are important to address, not just those.
I never said that I don’t have biases I simply spoke out against the statement that I am racist or misogynist simply by virtue of being an American. No one is ever anything simply because of their nationality, and to say otherwise is an extremely prejudiced statement. And to say that I’m overreacting by defending myself against a prejudiced person makes you, simply put, an ignorant asshole. But by all means please continue to oust yourself as a bigoted fool like your buddy.
I am racist or misogynist simply by virtue of being American
Do you not understand how population statistics work? Most Americans speak English, but that doesn’t mean that every person who happens to be American definitely does. Same with racial bias.
Once again, that is a huge generalization. You are speaking as if you personally know the millions of people to whom you’re referring when in fact the only thing you know are your own biases. Take a big step back and realize how arrogant it is to feel that you’re qualified to speak for an entire population of humans.
Putting up two absolutely dog shit candidates that are both condescending and smug as fuck while having no policy other than "we support the status quo" while everyone is wildly unhappy doesn't mean that America is misogynistic. It means that they need to put up better candidates.
Kamala was never popular ever. No one wanted her. She was so unpopular in the 2020 primary that she dropped out before any votes were cast.
She was a terrible choice from the beginning. Plus we didn't even get to have a primary.
-criminal loses to her in debate so bad he doesn’t want one again
-promises fuck over everyone who isn’t a gajillionaire
-almost as old as biden, who was getting clowned on for his age by trump voters
-still wins the election
The only real answer is that democrats had to compromise between the interests of rich donors and regular voters, and failed. American democracy is fundamentally flawed, and unless Citizens United is overturned it's only going to get worse from here.
Republicans would absolutely have voted for Consoleezza Rice if she had been given the nod
Def some dudes out there who would admit they didn’t vote for Kamala, in part, because she’s a woman, but generalizing it to “everyone who didn’t vote for her is a misogynist” is the exact kind of rhetoric that turned people off from coming over to the Dems side
It surely couldn’t be that the Democrats ran two of the most disliked women even amongst their own party? Surely the populace at large loved these openly corrupt women responsible for numerous ruined lives and deaths to which they cackle constantly.
i mean, not actually letting people decide who they wanted as a democratic candidate also didn´t help, but i also believe north-american people just don´t trust a woman to be president, militaristc culture and such
Truth be told, as much as I wanted Kamala to win, there was always a smaller voice in my head telling me that she wouldn't.
And this isn't like me trying to cope or anything like that.
It's just that as I grew up, I just became incredibly more cynical over time, where I'm at a point where even if she did somehow win, nothing would matter, and it will still be the same regardless of the presidential outcome.
I guess it's going to be a bumpy ride for the next 4 years, but it looks like we're all have to endure until then.
I'll see you all here in about 4 years if the country is still around by 2028.

Could it be that America is Misogynistic and Racist? Blimey
I'm ready for the downvotes and B&
NorseHighlander@reddit
The notion that Americans are too racist for a black president loses teeth considering we recently had a black man for two terms.
A person's gender may have an impact, but it is even more important that they are likeable. A person who got 4% of the primary vote from her own party only to get foisted on the constituency four years later anyway is not what I would call a likeable person.
Brilliant-Mountain57@reddit
Trump is literally just a better actor, that's all there is to it. Kamala isn't charismatic like Obama was, neither was Hilary. If you want to hold office, you've gotta put on a really good show and trump was doing that all over.
dirschau@reddit
Sooooo... If an old white guy with no charisma or stsge presence beat trump, but two women couldn't...
It might be misogyny after all
The_Chungunist@reddit
No, it was just that Trump got caught up on COVID ans people were voting against his incompetent handling of the Crisis, and the election was still won by a razor think edge even with that. If COVID hadn'd happened Biden would have almost certainly lost.
karateema@reddit
Biden won because Trump did a disaster with the pandemic in 2020 and a lot of people who wouldn't have ledt the house to vote had the chance to do so by mail
SpaceSick@reddit
Harris and Clinton were both terrible candidates that offered nothing other than being a part of the establishment. Zero likability.
Also the pandemic probably won the election of ol Joe.
Unglazed1836@reddit
Or, and hear me out, they just happen to run some of the most unlikeable women in existence. Both Hillary & Kamala are unbearable. Bill doesn’t even like Hillary.
dirschau@reddit
Uh huh, uh huh.
It's misogyny.
WhenceYeCame@reddit
"one of the most repulsive scumbags to walk god's green earth"
He's completely unlikable when you pay attention, and when you know his history, and when you keep track of his contradictions, and when you know all his excuses are bullshit.
Without that, it's obvious that people get rude but charismatic straight-shooter vibes from him. Its the dumbest time to assert that no one likes him.
I think the big thing about Kamala people are missing is that voters weren't given the choice to choose her in primaries. When you skip a step in the democratic process like that, you lose a connection to your base.
DoggoKing4937@reddit
The one thing that saves him is that 99% of his supporters have lettuce for brains and couldn't distinguish a banana from a gun if the gun had the word "gun" written on it in big, bright red letters, and the banana was a banana split.
The facts don't matter when your entire fanbase has two braincells fighting for third place.
DinoBirdsBoi@reddit
this is a perspective from a leftist kid who lives with a dad that voted republican
i dont think this loss was due to misogyny
well, to some extent, yes, but i will bet that the extent to which it affected the election was very small
first of all, voter turnout on the democratic side dropped significantly this year, and although i do acknowledge that misogyny can cause democrats to not vote, it dropped from 81 mil to 67 mil-too much for me to believe it is due to misogyny
its more likely that the republican tactic of attacking harris/biden's lack of action worked well on left leaning people
second of all, although we see MAGA republicans as "the" republicans, that's really blinded us to, ya know, regular-ass republicans, and i think it may have driven away centrist voters, because a centrist is going to see the left media and their first thought is going to be, "that's not them, what are they saying?"
you may argue it is the same for the right against the left, but the difference is that usually articles discussing MAGA can't point to a certain scapegoat, while republicans were able to point to BLM and scapegoat that for their purposes, making their stance stronger
this is especially true for my dad, since we had to drive through portland when all their glass was covered up with boards and tape
finally, the democratic loss was due to the discussion on social issues. i strongly believe that the greatest mistake of this election was turning social issues, such as abortion, into one of the "big" things they were discussing. it just doesn't have any weight for people who aren't directly affected at it and aren't exposed to the need for that status quo to change.
laws are written in blood, and blood hasn't reached the centrists, which is why i think pushing that policy doesn't work.
but the voter turnout is definitely the biggest thing at work here, considering the turnout dropped sharply, leading to discussion on the effects of actual policy or swing people/states being more supplementary.
TL;DR democrats lost because their strategy couldnt get votes and their previous actions didnt win votes either
but thats just what i think
idk why i typed out this entire thing ig i just dont like people mischaracterizing losses because then we'll never learn and we'll probably never win
Unglazed1836@reddit

Tbh the truth is probably a bit of both. Michelle Obama would have absolutely had a good shot. She brings good energy when she speaks IMO
bigfanofyourworks@reddit
Unfortunately I think the name Obama is such a meme that she'd always be overshadowed by his legacy. It'd be easy to trot out Thanks Obama with some decade old propaganda and half the US would stick his failings on her because they're stupid as hell.
whousesgmail@reddit
I think even if Biden had his 2020 mental faculties he wasn’t beating Trump this time.
Covid and muh Russia and a deluge of scandals from Trump’s cabinet made him vulnerable in 2020.
The scandals hanging over Trump right now many perceived as political targeting which made them less effective and those old ones didn’t hold water anymore.
Kaiser_Maxtech@reddit
if the position of harris and walz were reversed, itd have been a sweep.
whousesgmail@reddit
Walz is kinda goofy so I doubt it.
“AOC runs a mean pick 6”
If that’s true maybe Dems should’ve ran a primary.
dirschau@reddit
Uh huh, uh huh.
Counterpoint: they run against trump. One of the vilest pieces of shit to ever run for the office.
So, maybe it's just misogyny after all.
chiefoogabooga@reddit
No matter your politics, you have to recognize 2020 as an outlier. We should probably see 2024 as an outlier too, to be fair. Take Covid out of the equation, and either one of those could have turned out totally different.
dirschau@reddit
Honestly, "outliers" are going to be the norm all over the world. Hell, they already are, there was a whole slew of up-to-now surprising elections in the EU too.
Times are changing fast and the initiative is being seized by all sorts of grifters, while the general public hasn't woken up to it yet, lulled into complacency by lack of a serious challenge from proper nut jobs until now.
It's honestly scary how many people look at far right parties and can't hear the dog whistles.
Brilliant-Mountain57@reddit
Yooo you might be onto something. He wins against women and loses against men, I think you genuinely have a point now that I think about it and you point that out.
Yeseylon@reddit
I honestly don't understand this argument. To me, Trump has negative charisma. He rambles incoherently about things like Arnold Palmer's dick, and somehow that means charisma?
karateema@reddit
He used to have charisma, and the people who started following him in 2016 will never change their minds, no matter what he says
in_elation@reddit
Biden just won because everyone hated Trump during his first term
chiefoogabooga@reddit
And half the country was still sitting at home because of Covid.
f0rm4n@reddit
🤓☝️Actually, 15 million people who voted in 2020 haven’t voted in 2024, and Trump’s results stayed largely the same. Considering Trump’s 74 mil turned into ≈73 mil, but Biden’s 81 mil turned into Harris’ ≈68 mil, it’s safe to assume that moderate dems just didn’t come out to vote this time.
ReallyDumbRedditor@reddit
Wrong, it's because the election was stolen.
SpaceSick@reddit
Biden won because of COVID. If that pandemic never happened, Trump would have won again.
paco-ramon@reddit
Obama also made the mistake of mocking and centering the campaign on Trump, is the second time Obama helped Trump to win the White House.
inspectoroverthemine@reddit
Literally 30% of the country lost their mind over a black man being elected. The backlash is what got Trump elected in 2016. Black civil rights is literally two steps forward, on step back for the last 150 years, every milestone is met with instant and severe pushback.

And just be bombastic. You don't really even have to make sense. The people who are going to vote for you will do so regardless of what you say. MrSam52@reddit
Not even that tbh like 40% of people don’t care so don’t vote. It’s just apathy.
BigWhiteChicano@reddit
I mean when you make massively prejudiced statements that encompass an entire country of people, maybe you deserve your downvotes.
Maximillion322@reddit
It’s not “massively prejudiced”
BigWhiteChicano@reddit
So you’re saying that on a deep, subconscious level everyone hates women and minorities? I don’t think so brother, I think it’s much more likely that you’re just an asshole.
Maximillion322@reddit
So no. That’s not what I was saying at all
BigWhiteChicano@reddit
I never said that I don’t have biases I simply spoke out against the statement that I am racist or misogynist simply by virtue of being an American. No one is ever anything simply because of their nationality, and to say otherwise is an extremely prejudiced statement. And to say that I’m overreacting by defending myself against a prejudiced person makes you, simply put, an ignorant asshole. But by all means please continue to oust yourself as a bigoted fool like your buddy.
Maximillion322@reddit
Do you not understand how population statistics work? Most Americans speak English, but that doesn’t mean that every person who happens to be American definitely does. Same with racial bias.
BigWhiteChicano@reddit
Ah yes, I’m being defensive because someone called me a racist woman-hater because of my nationality. You really are a goofy goober.
BigWhiteChicano@reddit
Once again, that is a huge generalization. You are speaking as if you personally know the millions of people to whom you’re referring when in fact the only thing you know are your own biases. Take a big step back and realize how arrogant it is to feel that you’re qualified to speak for an entire population of humans.
Maximillion322@reddit
You don’t have to personally know anyone to know that all human brains have biases built into them. It’s just biological fact.
SpaceSick@reddit
Putting up two absolutely dog shit candidates that are both condescending and smug as fuck while having no policy other than "we support the status quo" while everyone is wildly unhappy doesn't mean that America is misogynistic. It means that they need to put up better candidates.
Kamala was never popular ever. No one wanted her. She was so unpopular in the 2020 primary that she dropped out before any votes were cast.
She was a terrible choice from the beginning. Plus we didn't even get to have a primary.
IkuX2@reddit

GwornoGiowovanna@reddit
-criminal loses to her in debate so bad he doesn’t want one again -promises fuck over everyone who isn’t a gajillionaire -almost as old as biden, who was getting clowned on for his age by trump voters -still wins the election
AugustusClaximus@reddit
They only ran Hillary after some primary Chicanery that ousted Bernie. They only ran Kamala after some Primary chicanery that forced Kamala.

Def some dudes out there who would admit they didn’t vote for Kamala, in part, because she’s a woman, but generalizing it to “everyone who didn’t vote for her is a misogynist” is the exact kind of rhetoric that turned people off from coming over to the Dems side
If you want them to win, stop doing it.
