Hypothetical prep

Say Elon Musk is named to the role he indicated and then, in effort to reduce the deficit, starts laying off workers. Then say the rest of the government unions go on strike. I know it's a highly specific situation, but what would be the effects on daily life that we should prep for?

Do you remember the last government shutdown? I didn't and had to look it up. It was 35 days starting in December 2018, and didn't interfere with anything I had going on. I think there's plenty more to worry about than getting less government services than you get now.
Also, it's illegal for federal employees to strike per civil service reform act of 1978. Not impossible, but very unlikely.

Prep for what you are already prepping for. Self sufficiency.
What do we really need the government for? Not a whole lot.

You'll discover what for when things start to break, and there's no one around to investigate criminal activity. https://arstechnica.com/health/2024/11/havard-trained-spa-owner-injected-clients-with-bogus-botox-prosecutors-say/

You may be shocked to discover just how many things the government, on state and federal levels, has wormed itself into. Basically, ask yourself "Do I need this to survive and thrive?" If the answer is "yes", figure out how to provide it yourself; or, better in some ways, figure out how to get together with others and provide it without outside assistance.
