I was using an Asus mother board with a intel i-9 13900k and i want to upgrade to the new AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D will everything work?
If you need any other information about my PC I can get it for you, any help is appreciated, thankyou

What GPU do you have? What resolution do you play at?
You will need at least a new motherboard and possibly new RAM if you do not already have DDR5.
It's not a worthwhile upgrade, IMO. If you don't have a top end GPU and play at 1440p or above, you will likely not notice much performance increase. Even with a 4090 there'd be maybe a 20 fps performance increase average at 1440p. Not worth it at all..

i have ddr5 and a 4090, i play at 2560 x 1440. i watched the recent linus tech tips vid and all the differences between the two looked pretty good

If you have money to burn, then go ahead. Just doesn't make much sense to me, spending so much for an incremental performance gain, haha.

sorry man, you'll need a new motherboard to go from intel CPU to amd CPU

fuck thats so annoying, i probably won’t upgrade then; im sure intel will come out with a better cpu at some point and ill just grab that when it comes out

Currently speaking you have just about the best CPU that will ever be made for your motherboard. The new Intel ultra CPUs use a different socket.

You'll need a new motherboard for that too. Lga 1700 is a dead platform, Intel just released 15th gen with new motherboards.

i mean a 13900k is no joke. there's people gaming perfectly fine on cpus from 2011.

One is made by Intel and one is made by AMD. That already makes things incompatible.
