To All Men Who Voted for Trump

Last night, you chose to disregard truth, integrity, honesty, and the real consequences of your actions. For a fleeting, uncertain promise of personal gain, you aligned yourself with a man whose life and words reflect deceit, exploitation, and a complete lack of respect for others. This wasn’t just a political choice; it was a resounding failure in your character. By casting this vote, you not only failed yourselves and your loved ones—you have failed all future generations who would look to you as role models. You have shown your sons that respect, empathy, and decency are optional values to be abandoned when power and money are at stake. In doing so, you’ve set a dangerous standard for what it means to be a man in America today, sending a message that harming others for personal gain is not only acceptable, but applauded.

When you voted, you chose to endorse a worldview that is inherently dismissive and hostile to your sisters, your daughters, your mothers, and every woman in your life. A vote for Trump was a vote for a man who has openly boasted about his disregard for women, his penchant for manipulating others, and his callous indifference to the lives of those he sees as "other." Whether you intended to or not, you sanctioned these values—and made it clear to the women in your life that their safety, rights, and humanity are negotiable when weighed against the mere prospect of economic gain.

You are part of a generation that has unprecedented access to information. Yet, in the face of overwhelming evidence, you chose ignorance. You chose to ignore the cries for justice, the pleas for empathy, and the calls for unity from the very people who are now at risk because of this choice. Your apathy has handed power to a man who disregards your peers' cries for equality and justice, and mocks the very foundations of our democracy.

In times of great moral conflict, every generation faces a choice: to act in service of the greater good or to retreat into selfishness and fear. Your decision to side with a man who seeks to dismantle the freedoms of others shows a staggering failure of your character. It’s a betrayal of everything your country stands for and a brutal reminder that apathy and ignorance can be just as destructive as malice.

You may think that you’re insulated from the consequences of this choice, but history has shown time and time again that no one is safe when authoritarianism takes root. As your freedoms erode, as the voices around you grow quieter and fear settles in, remember that this moment was not inevitable. It was a choice—a choice you made.

To those who believe that this letter is an exaggeration or that the reality will be somehow less severe, understand that the people most at risk are already feeling the weight of your decision, and when the dust settles and you look around at the damage, I hope you remember the part you played in tearing down the principles of liberty, compassion, and justice.

You may feel proud now, but the cost of your actions will be borne by every vulnerable person, every marginalized community, and every woman who trusted you to care about more than just yourself. And one day, you’ll have to answer for this.

For now, though, look in the mirror and face the truth: you have failed. And the entire nation will suffer for it.

Sincerely,

Your Fellow ‘Man’
