intakes?

was looking into buying a Perrin cold air intake for my 2023 brz but was wondering a couple things first is how much performance boost and would a custom tune or ecu tune be more beneficial after adding it? second are there better cold air intake options for around that price range of 400 dollars? note: i'm not adding this for performance i'm doing it for sound and gas mileage but wanna get the most out of it, and was gonna tune the car one way or another anyways.

The car already has a CAI. Any gains in performance will come from a tune. And since yours is a 2023, don’t expect a lot of gains like years ago. Car manufacturers have been doing a good job now squeezing out HP from the factory.

Without any tuning or other upgrades, the only "benefit" is more induction noise. Just make sure you get a proper cold air setup, or you risk pulling warm air into the engine, and actually losing power. Some tuning shops may offer a package like you mentioned, but I've never heard of intake/tune combo package. If you really want to make the most of the car, check BRZ specific forums, and get advice from ppl who have already learned from the common mistakes.

i think the package i was thinking of was the aem intake but i did choose the Perrin one based on its location in the front bumper so it will properly pull cold air. thank you!!

You might get a little more induction sound and placebo-power but that's about it. You'll probably get as much power gains from a drop-in K&N.

just remembered this but are there any good options known of about intakes that come with a tune i think i’ve heard of that once before?
