My take on the election

So I’ll just go off and say while I don’t like Trump and honestly would prefer a different republican candidate or even libertarian candidate but they just had to go with Oliver but anyway, I’m writing this to say as someone who wants to become a gun owner but can’t because of my age I’m happy with the results because while Trump isn’t the most pro 2A candidate, I’m pretty sure we all the remember the bump stock ban, “Take the guns, due process later” and other shit, he also said on live TV he wouldn’t ban the Ar-15 after getting shot with one, he won’t institute a AWB ban like Harris promised and he’ll appoint hopefully more pro 2A judges like last time.

Overall, I’m cautiously optimistic that 2A rights are secure, at least for now and I hope that Trump realizes a lot of his supporter are pro 2A so if he wants to keep them he has to protect the 2A, let’s hope he remembers that

Just not being Biden or Harris isn't nearly enough. Trump needs to offer something more than an ability to nominate SCOTUS justices who have strong opinions on abortion. So no, I don't think I will show the man much respect. He hasn't earned it yet.

Sadly, it is. I voted for Trump because the alternative is worse. We can fantasize about alternate reality all we want. But reality doesn't care about our fantasies.

The reality is that politicians, regardless of party, will do whatever they feel is best for them.

Yes, and? All facts considered, Trump is better than the alternative.

I guess we'll find out. But neither Trump nor Harris deserved my vote, and neither received it.

Rather have him than the Kamel or Magoo. The US is primarily a Christian nation, we’re already a God fearing nation for the most part, therefore, I don’t think anyone is under any delusion that he’s “saving the US from God.”

You can only control what you believe. I believe the third-party candidates are trash, and in the real world, only him and Kamala could win.

The worst thing Trump did for guns was bump stocks.

The worst thing Kamala wants is repealing heller, assault weapon bans, etc.

People here act high and mighty, but what they want is an imaginary friend as a politician. No one who will become president is going to repeal all gun laws. People need to get their heads out of the sand and think practically. Gun control takes years to dismantle like it took years to get enacted.

I had been in favor of Nikki Haley in the hope of putting both Trump and Biden behind us, but happily voted for Trump. We literally do not have to worry about national AWB, capacity limits, “cosmetic features”, etc. for the next 4 years. And he definitely will appoint more 2A-friendly judges, hopefully convince Alito and Thomas to retire during the next 2 years and name their successors. Important that this happens in the next 2 years while the Senate is secure and the House Democrats, even if they retain a small majority, are in disarray.
