Jack in the box came first
DisconcerteDinOC@reddit
Yes, that, slapjack, heads up 7up, dodgeball/nation ball, red rover, out of state plates, and hot hands?(where you slap the other persons hands that are above yours)
DisconcerteDinOC@reddit
And jack in the boxes!

Ugh. Just seeing this makes my heart trip.

Might have been caused by Operation. The loud buzzing sound never fails to make my anxiety rise a bit. Then there was that pencil one that nobody could ever get without touching the metal. Yeah, that one really grinds my gears.
knightcrusader@reddit
For me, as a person with a congenital hand tremor... Operation was anxiety inducing as well.
robkillian@reddit
I think of Operation every time I use one of those 1st gen Dyson Airblade hand driers in a public bathroom. Do NOT touch the sides!

That awful buzzing noise

I never liked that ģame. Candyland, Chinese Checkers and Snakes n Ladders are way more fun.

I had a similar game, except it was puzzle boxes. I think you had to put them together before time ran out. I loved it, but it never reached the popularity of Perfection.
cortesoft@reddit
I feel like this is one of those games (like mousetrap) that I played with a lot but never played by the actual rules.
daveypaul40@reddit
This for sure.. in a close second is "timed tests" from elementary school.

There's still masking tape with my initials on the one at the cottage from when my mom let me take it with me to kindergarten in 1984! I had to share the trauma.

My now 5 year old got this as a present last year (when he was 4) and the first time it popped it scared him so much that he refuses to play with the timer. So he just dumps the pieces out and puts them back in. He basically solved the game 8D
malibuklw@reddit
Pretty much same thing happened when my oldest was about that age. Put it away and never touched it again. Then he would panic when he was timed doing anything. Not sure if it’s because of perfection the game or perfectionism in general.
Babymakerwannabe@reddit
Same reaction my kid had
TheLastBoat@reddit
For me it may have been getting Tetris for my GameBoy on Christmas in ‘89.

"Thats right - it goes in the square hole."
YarnBunny@reddit
We had this and super perfection. Yeah, this makes sense why im an anxiety ridden perfectionist
Life-Finding5331@reddit
I literally had a palpitation from the Pic
AnimatronicCouch@reddit
We had this game. My little sister flipped herself out of her crib and landed on it! It was so loud and the little pieces went everywhere. That has nothing to do with the game, but it was funny! She didn’t think so back then, but now it is.
RicketyWickets@reddit
Omg 😱 no thanks 👀
panda900rr@reddit
hearing the timer tick like
RunAndPunchFlamingo@reddit
My blood pressure’s rising just looking at this.
Equal-Worldliness-66@reddit
Hahaha so true. My parents gifted me anxiety for Xmas. This and operation were sooo stressful.
