The handguard is held in by a 3mm hex head screw on the top and by the grip on the bottom (Phillips head screw and it comes right off). Remove both and slide the handguard forward to remove the debris, then reverse the process

I see all the guys here are cracking jokes at your expense, and I simply don't think any of them understand the seriousness of your situation. Please take it to a gunsmith ASAP. Make sure he doesn't look young and happy. Find the most tough looking, miserable old guy and tell him your concern. Also, please do keep us updated.
