Ram Speed Question?

Motherboards have a max Ram-Speed that they can work at. For Instance, An AM5 Motherboard with x870e Chipset can run ram at 5600 max. My Question is. Does it matter if you take Ram that can run at 5600 Max or is it better that you use Ram that can run faster but only run them on 5600 Speed?

Having faster RAM than the motherboard supports can potentially allow you to run the RAM at better timings. I'm unsure if better timings increases stress on the memory controller in a similar manner to increased clock speeds though.

I feel like you are confusing the supported base speed versus OC'ing on a motherboard. I don't see a single board in the 800 range that doesn't support EXPO/OC'ing. If you buy 6000 mhz ram, yes, it will default to the JDEC speed on the ram, usually 4800 mhz with DDR5. It will even do this if you buy 5600 mhz ram. You won't get the full speed either way until you enable EXPO (or XMP) in your BIOS.

Take whichever is cheapest or on sale ?
If the 5600MT/s is more expensive than let's say high speed models than buy the high speed models

Okay, so it is like i suspected. The Ram speed is locked with what the Motherboard can do. The only reason to take faster Ram is to take them if they are Cheaper. Thanks.
