Look Into Working Holiday Visa

For the tsunami of Americans suddenly looking into moving overseas, if you meet the criteria (generally 18 - 30 years old, no criminal convictions) working holiday visas offer an inexpensive, reasonably quick, and easy way to spend 6 to 12 months traveling and working overseas. If you fall in love and want to stay it's much easier to learn if that's possible on the ground (or just fall in love and marry a local lol).

Be mindful that Americans are excluded from most working holiday visa programs. They only have access to like 5 or 6 counties while European enjoy a much wider choice.

Working holiday visas available to Americans are mostly in the Asia Pacific region. If you want to be in APAC, it's a great option.

That of course is true.

Or skills shortage lists.

True. Although there is sometimes a mismatch between what is on the skills shortage list snd what is actually available in the market. I've met several new immigrants who were granted a work visa based on the skilled shortage list only to having to resort to driving an Uber as there was no actual job for them to fill. You have to be thorough in your homework.
