USA- PA- did i break a law by driving straight past a bus preparing to make a left turn?

so i always get nervous around school buses because i’ve had trouble with this before, but i’m not sure if this is just paranoia. i was driving in a school zone, and since i was not making any turns i assumed that i had the right of way. a school bus had its turn signal on preparing to make a left turn into the parking lot, and since the car in front of me was moving forward i also moved forward past the bus. the car behind me stopped so that the bus could make the left turn into a parking lot. normally i would have stopped just out of politeness, and then i started to get really scared that i was obligated to stop because of the bus. i thought it was just normal right of way rules since the only signal was a turn signal, but i’m not sure how specific the rules get. should i be worried or is this okay?

You did fine. The bus is just another vehicle waiting to turn in this instance. The car behind you that stopped was just being polite. That's all well and good until the car behind them is expecting them to continue moving forward. Sometimes being polite is not the right thing to do; depends on the circumstance.
