Anybody know where would be quiet over new years for me and the dog to go?

Little holiday for us both dog friendly I would prefer not to drive as I’d be anxious just me and the dog in the car. So accessible train journey would be great

Lake District coast is lovely, get a cottage in the likes of Grange Over Sands or any one of the places along the railway to Barrow-in-Furness. That way you can get there by train and use the train for day trips if you want that.
Or train to Barmouth in Wales, changing at Chester.

Probably a little bit too far but would be lovely just maybe a long journey for doggo

What makes you anxious about driving with your dog? It’s totally valid and you don’t have to explain, I’m just wondering if there might be something that would help. Just thinking since a car would obviously open up lots of options for a quiet getaway. Anyway, I second north Wales (not known for it’s public transport but it’s doable).

I’m just an anxious driver and if idk where I’m going I’d be checking the journey for days I don’t do motorways anyway but I think I’d be fine I’d just stress easily and would be worried if anything happened even like a flat tire that would just send me off on one lol

Gotcha. Hopefully that’s maybe something you can work through in time, as it really does open up so many doors in terms of independence. I personally find the prospect of navigating somewhere like North Wales without a car far more stressful lol.

Hahaha I feel like I’d probably regret not driving if I’m carrying stuff and have the dog lol

Thinking the same tbf again not judging but it opens up so many more possibilities to get away from people!!

North wales coast or inland on the line from Llandudno or the Wrexham line. Might be some smaller villages that are suitable.
Further north, you’ve got the edge of the Lake District on the Barrow line

Thank you do you think Chester would also be a good idea?

A long time ago, I lived near Chester and the city centre was rammed approaching Christmas. I remember slumping down on the bridge where the clock tower is completely swamped.
It’s a lovely place but probably not the quiet spot for you and your dog.

Look on Air B&B for somewhere rural in North Wales, there’s tons of cottages that are out of the way.
