So with the Republicans controlling the House, Senate, and Presidency, are we actually going to make any progress on firearms rights or are we just going to stand around with our dick in our hands like we did in 2016?
Posted by 556_enjoyer@reddit | Firearms | View on Reddit | 270 comments
With republican control of the government, getting SBRs and Suppressors off the NFA (ATF supports silencer removal from NFA) - it should be EASY.
But even with the gun community growing exponentially and more pressure from the industry for change - Trump's in his own little world - dude didn't even know about the pistol brace felony-debacle until someone from PSA told him.
Trump has been VERY silent on the 2A on his campaign trail.
I just feel like we're going to have 4 more years of.. sending billions to israel and arguing over bathrooms and leaving the 2A community to go fuck itself.
steveHangar1@reddit
I think DJT, Vance and our Senators are going to be busy trying to unfuck the fuckery of the Biden/Harris administration. If anything, I'd assume they'll strike down any bullshit new laws the libfuck left tries to pass.
sativaadiva911@reddit
How are you already making excuses for this and it hasn’t even happened yet 🤣🤡 why lick their boots this hard? Stop enabling all the politicians to do nothing and keep doing nothing by being brainwashed into sympathizing for them lmao. Nothing happened in the last four years, nothings gunna happen in the next four years. Besides apparently more menial arguing from the hypothetical right and left citizens who’ve been convinced to do nothing but screech at their fellow working class humans in defense of billionaires who are leading us to our mass extinction for fun
Kelend@reddit
We will continue to make progress in the courts, where pretty much all progress has been made in recent years. The election will secure the continuation of pro 2A judges, simply because of were most pro 2A judges are on the political spectrum.
dutchman76@reddit
The courts are just barely holding on protecting our rights, time to go on the offensive and actually expand rights.
05_legend@reddit
Oh yea they really expanded everyone's rights by banning abortion.
The-Fotus@reddit
They didn't ban abortion. They just said roe v wade didn't cover abortion. New case law would need to be seen over abortion specifically.
05_legend@reddit
How many states banned abortion before and after roe v wade was overturned?
For all practical purposes, it's a ban. You can split hairs but it's a ban and nationwide will be next.
The-Fotus@reddit
I'm sorry to disagree, and I don't truly care enough to get into it, but you're wrong.
A ban is a law passed saying something can't be had or done. The supreme court can't write law, but merely interpret law and rule on legality.
States have the right to restrict abortion due to the Supreme Court ruling that Roe V Wade did not mean the federal government had a right to regulate it, but states did. What states did after that are all seperate issues that should be looked at in isolation.
Dangerous-Chemist389@reddit
All they did was hand that decision back to the states.
Keep your dick in your pants or close your legs, thats the easiest abortion
05_legend@reddit
How many states banned abortions before roe v wade was overturned? It's essentially a ban. Don't argue in bad faith brother, we all know what the consequences of that was.
No thanks, I actually live in a free state that allows me to fuck with contraception. Sucks for you I guess.
Tell that to the rich Christian family who takes their daughter across country because they don't want a teenage pregnancy in red state. Not so easy then.
Dangerous-Chemist389@reddit
😂 My daughter got pregnant, her choice along with the boy was to have it and take care of it. Why in the world would i force her to have abortion.
We all live in a free state. All i was referring to was that abstinence is the only 100% contraceptive, but some people should just be swallowed
BD_Foxley@reddit
What rights are you looking for?
Flux_State@reddit
Since Trump supports gun control and most Republicans in congress only performatively support the 2A, im guessing no.
MGB1013@reddit
I doubt anything gets done. I’m hopeful for a “hearing protection act” type bill to remove suppressors from the NFA and I feel like that’s the most tangible.
Hopefully it at least means we don’t have to worry about any bad bills getting thrown in the hopper for the next two years.
Machine_gun_go_Brrrr@reddit
They'll wait till a mass shooting to push it and say we tried when it fails
Garlan_Tyrell@reddit
I mean, what happened in 2017 is that the SAFE Hearing Act was making progress, then Stephen Paddock carried out a no-known-motive, no-known ideology, largest mass shooting in American history in Las Vegas, using bump stocks.
And then the SAFE Hearing Act got cratered and Democrats persuaded Trump into banning bump stocks.
I usually dismiss conspiracy theories out of hand, but come the fuck on.
singlemale4cats@reddit
Is this a joke? Trump is very much my way or the highway kind of guy.
GumboDiplomacy@reddit
I swear people on this sub will make any excuse possible to avoid admitting that Trump isn't actually pro 2A.
fireman2004@reddit
It's laughable.
Trump is the most easily influenced man in politics. All his former advisors say he just repeats the most recent thing he's heard about a situation. Whoever gets to him last basically effects what he's going to do.
Hes not some iron willed true believer. He's a NY real estate salesman.
TheNinjaScarFace@reddit
Lest we forget he was also a lifelong NY Democrat for most of his life.
No-Mouse2117@reddit
That's this issue. You think it's republican or Democrat. You realize republican wasn't always so good? Neither side has a very good track record. We like trump because he's different from everyone else. He's not a republican, he's a patriot.
Flux_State@reddit
He cares about nothing but himself; America least of all
Garlan_Tyrell@reddit
That doesn’t mean he was unpersuadable, especially back in 2017.
Go look at the “Take the guns first” quote, he was in a room with Democratic Congressional leaders (literally sitting next to Dianne Feinstein) who were trying to convince him to pass gun control.
However, Wayne LaPierre did something for once in his life (besides embezzling from the NRA) and called Trump and told him “If you endorse Red Flag laws, you’ll lose your pro-gun base”, so Trump backtracked.
Because, again, he was persuadable.
domexitium@reddit
He never banned bump stocks by EO. That’s absolutely false. However, yeah everything else is spot on.
Brrrrrrrro@reddit
The only people who can persuade Trump of anything are Putin, Kim, and anyone who says anything nice about him within earshot.
Sgt_Mayonnaise@reddit
What is the acronym EO?
Ek0@reddit
I remember the hearing protection act having its progress stopped largely by the shooting at the republican baseball game, more so than the Vegas shooting.
Helo0931@reddit
I've already emailed my rep and senators saying I want the HPA re-introduced in both chambers and to go to president Trump. Write to them and remind them we voted for them for a reason. Let them know that if they don't come through they won't get your vote in the mid-terms.
MGB1013@reddit
That’s awesome! You know the gun community talks about training and putting in work but a lot of us don’t put in the work on the legislative side. Good on you. It may be a bit early so we think we should all get on board for day one of folks taking office and annoy the hell out of them
FPSXpert@reddit
I'm still not entirely convinced tbh. I could see a relaxed approach to braces/FRT's/fosscad items basically slapping the AFT's hand and giving a firm "NO" to them trying any more fuckery with those, but I think that's about it. While I do think suppressors absolutely need off the NFA list for hearing safety reasons, I'm not sure how tangible it is. Though at a minimum it would be nice to see them say let's leave it up to the states. Commifornia can keep screaming about mouse fart hollywood quiet ghost suppressors on their state floor, meanwhile states that recognize that hearing safety on the range is kind of important could enact eased restrictions without worrying about the feds doing their usual fuckery in those red states.

Well know and the vote will show when mid term happens. As long as we can hold onto the conservative court in supreme Court guns right should be safe (hope alito and Clarence retire).
I'm hopeful but I don't think they are touching NFA 🥲
David_Shagzz@reddit
At the end of the day, the president cannot make a full ban, or a full uplift from current bans. Which is why as much as they wanted to, Kamala and Biden couldn’t prevent people from owning 100 round drum mags, or civilian legal “assault rifles/replicas” of their origin. Most of it has been put up to state. As far as prices, nfa items, and unreasonable import prices, certain import bans, I could definitely see a couple of those possibly lifted, or with a price decrease. Nothing is ever certain. But it’s a possibility more than anything that ammo prices will decrease, a few import prices could decrease/increase, and the atf will probably be getting a big run for their money. At the end of the day, it is far too unconstitutional, and left wing biased that something as simple as a sbr or a suppressor is considered an item taxed by the atf. If they can’t legally force every state to register their actual firearms, what sense does it make to force us to have our suppressors regulated?
Potential-Location85@reddit
It isn’t Trump that people need to push. We need to get Mike Johnson in Congress to push the legislation and then Trump will sign it if it gets there
PatientStrength5861@reddit
I would say that it will probably be a free for all situation. Or since they have all the control they may decide to collect all the guns to prevent backlash for the changes they may be planning to make to our society.
Tiny-General-3700@reddit
There are two political parties in the USA: the one that wants to take your rights away but lies and says they won't, and the one that's honest about wanting to take your rights away.

ouroboro76@reddit
Republicans don't give a single solitary shit about your gun rights other than to get votes. In fact, if your gun rights get in the way of other agendas they have, expect them to curtail your gun rights.
Red-Dwarf69@reddit
Dicks in hands. Politicians are in the business of riling people up and making money, not their actual job of making changes that constituents want. They prefer to hold issues over our heads election after election. Same reason basically everyone agrees that weed should be legal and it still isn’t.
Dangerous-Chemist389@reddit
I actually disagree on the pot thing. Im 30 4 kids married. I don't want my kids messing around with any of that shit.
But i can respect the fact that it is legal in Michigan, it was put up to a vote and the people approved it.
Red-Dwarf69@reddit
No one else wants your kids or their kids using drugs either. That doesn’t mean it should be a crime for anyone to use them.
Beneficial_Bus5037@reddit

This.
Trump doesn't give a shit about guns. Republicans of 30 years ago are gone. The current republican party is just taking the gun vote without actually caring about guns. They give lip service to it since its some easy free votes, but they have zero intention of ever putting any effort into it.
If you want actual protection to our gun rights, convince your liberal friends to shoot guns. Convince the democrats to take it on as a social issue. "Gun rights are minority rights" is a selling point. "LGBT is under attack and need to arm themselves" can win people to our side. "CCW permits cost too much and disenfranchise poor people." You don't need to convince them to vote republican, you need to convince them to turn the democratic party pro gun.

Yup guns and immigration are just the boogie man to get us to vote for them. If they don’t go after business employing immigrants and don’t at least pass the hearing protection act before mid terms we’ll know the truth.
Derpicusss@reddit
If they actually do the things they promise to do then they will have to come up with new problems to get people to vote for them the next time around and that just seems too difficult
So nothing is going to happen
Financial_Code1055@reddit
If they do the things they promised we’re gonna have a whole lot of new problems to deal with. Most urgent will be the corporate farmers, ranchers and dairy farmers who rely on immigrants to provide cheap labor. That cheap labor gets the groceries to the stores that we rely on and the profits that the businesses demand. Anyway good luck. I can’t think of many promises made by politicians that were actually followed up on in a while.
Hour_Reindeer834@reddit
Maybe large businesses and practical monopolies will need to be compelled to accept slightly less massive wealth to ensure fair compensation for the working men and women who create that wealth.
I am confident there is a solution aside from low wages or price gouging.
Financial_Code1055@reddit
Good suggestion I’m confident that our new president, Congress and Supreme Court will consider it

The best you can expect is a rollback or elimination of the rules and regulations rolled out under the Biden administration. I think it unlikely any substantive change in law. Do you think any politician will campaign on making machine guns legal to own? I don't. Suppressors are a different matter. It's a maybe.
fzammetti@reddit
Dick, meet hand. With superglue to keep it all firmly in place.
We might get a few small token wins here and there just so they can keep up the facade of being pro-gun rights, but nothing of real consequence on any of our wish lists will happen. We're just a voting block to not upset to them, so they'll do the absolute minimum at every turn to achieve that goal, and nothing more.
They're obviously better than the Dems on guns of course - they aren't outright hostile towers us - but don't be fooled into thinking they're interested in meaningfully advancing our 2A rights. They're not, and never have been, except to the extent they need our votes.
CoolaidMike84@reddit
Nope. All smoke and mirrors.
Agammamon@reddit
None of those people care about guns.
Like, I'm glad Trump won, I'm glad that the R's are taking the House and Senate - but remember that Trump *did ban bumpstocks*.
2A is just not a priority for this administration.
The real work will come from the appointment of judges. If we get more freedom-loving judges then over the years the path will curve to our preferred destination. But its not going to be fast and its not going to be soon.
On the plus side - there's likely at least a 4 year grace period before anyone seriously comes after AR's again.

Trump is NOT pro 2A. Never was, and never will be. Like at his bump stock ban as evidence. He DID appoint solid SC justices, but the 2A was not the driver of that, only a good benefit.

They spent decades telling their constituents that they had to get out and vote for democrats, but once they were actually in office they didn’t really do a thing about it, despite times where they could’ve passed a federal law guaranteeing the right to abortion with little to no problems. Pharaon4@reddit
When will the 2A community grow enough brain cells to figure out that Republicans are pro gun control?
Psiwolf@reddit
Abolish ATF, repeal NFA, no compromises. And if they don't do that, I'd be okay with taking suppressors and sbrs off the NFA too.
McBadass1994@reddit
I've been telling everyone this.
"It's just gonna be more of the same."
m3n00bz@reddit
It's going to be the same as it has been under Bush, Obama, Trump and Biden. Nothing will change.
neuromorph@reddit
No. As soon as they solve it. They lose their base. Same reason they run on economics and don't fix the economy.
roachbooty@reddit
Why would they solve an issue that they run on? What do they have to gain for actually pulling their heads out of their ass and passing meaningful legislation.
hbomb57@reddit
You weren't going to vote for the other team anyways but it might scare away a battleground voting block like the white wine mommies. There's more to lose by doing something than doing nothing. In two years the election will be about not letting the dems attack your rights though. And if they win, they also probably won't do anything major against guns on the national scale either. Little things to pretend they tried, "but the NRA is too strong".
TooTiredMovieGuy@reddit
This is the truth.
gameragodzilla@reddit
I’m just content that the government won’t take more of our rights away. An Assault Weapons Ban is off the table for at least 2 to 4 years.
Stpbmw@reddit
2016 - 2020 was a significantly important time for judicial nominees.
hbomb57@reddit
Absolutely not. Why would they make pro 2a moves when thats their leverage in 2026 and 2028. If you reelect them again they definitely will though.
Seriously they dgaf about the 2a, they want to stay to office and you're a safe vote. Just like why the dems didn't codify roe v wade. The issue you care about is always what the next election is about.
Glock2puss@reddit
Seeing as Trump is the reason the bump stock ban happened and the fact he supported red flag laws idk
dogegambler@reddit
Dicks in hands. Hopefully not in each other's
norton_mike@reddit
Seriously, I want my nationwide pistol permit he promised in his first term...
dante662@reddit
Would also like a bit of help here in Deep Blue massachusetts. They made basically everything illegal this year and well, would be nice to get some actual rights back.
THELEGENDARYZWARRIOR@reddit
I don’t expect anything to happen. The best we can hope for is pro 2a judges being appointed to strike down current and future violations of the 2a by states.
Anything more than that call me extremely pleasantly surprised
AreaLeftBlank@reddit
Silent? Nah. Mofo's just weren't trying to hear him is all. He's crystal clear on 2A. If you don't know his stance on 2A it's because your heads is buried in the sand saying "surely, he don't mean MY guns"
From an article he says “Take the guns first, go through due process second,” Trump said.
Also in the article:
“Allow due process so no one’s rights are trampled, but the ability to go to court, obtain an order and then collect not only the firearms but any weapons,” Pence said.
“Or, Mike, take the firearms first, and then go to court,” Trump responded.
United-Advertising67@reddit
The latter.
Which is better than the alternative, but expect zero legislation of any kind to clear the Senate, and definitely no bringing home the bacon for gun rights.
Firefox_Alpha2@reddit
Not expecting anything monumental, just hopefully a reprieve from any new gun control for next 4 years
earle27@reddit
Remember, if they fix the problem, they won’t have anything to run on next cycle. Nothing will change.
HK_Mercenary@reddit
Keeping our rights intact is not a good platform? And there is nothing else they could shift to...? Are you sure about that...?
Shootemifyagotem@reddit
Dick's in hand and a concept of a plan
Belkan-Federation95@reddit
They are going to use the filibuster as an excuse
Express-Story8920@reddit
Yeah. It’s going to be 2016 again.
notyourmom1066@reddit
Still holding my dick. We can only hope. Curtain the ATF, make suppressors an ordinary purchase. Forget this rifle pistol sbr crap.
HK_Mercenary@reddit
I'm all for every point on that. I hope we can pressure some reps to publish a bill aimed at all of that.
quezlar@reddit
probably get some more friendly supreme court judges and not much else
but as far as im concerned thats a win
Environmental-End691@reddit
Circle jerk incoming - no pun intended
Hellhound5996@reddit
It's a wedge issue. They will never do anything because the constant fear mongering is what gets low-information Republicans to vote.
Guns are the right-wing roe vs wade. And the same thing will happen. Eventually, the left will strip away the Second Amendment, because we spent all our time circle jerking instead of legislating.
Tvizz@reddit
Hmm, might be a good thing with guns not at the centre of every election. Dems weren't talking about it much either. The courts are slow but they are doing their work.
AnotherBoringDad@reddit
If you want progress, start bugging the crap out of your representative and senators. The only way this becomes a priority is if they see we’ll stay home next election if they do nothing.
Liberteer30@reddit
Nothing will get done. We all know this already.
Material_Victory_661@reddit
He and the people he listens to knew we would have to go for him. The big thing is that Thomas can retire and get a good replacement. Although I bet he won't until the new administration is in its last year.
SamuelJackson47@reddit
No
gregshafer11@reddit
No
Emperor_Pete@reddit
One can only hope.
Benthereorl@reddit
It will be four more years of weed and see but we definitely got a possibility to get things done with Trump in office. Harrah's would have been a hot mess as she was on the campaign trail telling us nothing. She's that employee that sits in the back of the room and collect a paycheck and does nothing. She would have had a very good chance of becoming president if she would have consulted the Constitution amendment 25 and became president while Biden was in office. If she had a backbone and a plan she would possibly be the president right now. I will vote for any president that has the best interest of America in mind. Any gender, race or political affiliation.
patty_OFurniture306@reddit
Honestly I think the best we can hope for is them doing nothing for 4 years. Just because they're red doesn't make them pro gun
McMacHack@reddit
Two years of dick in hand. If they solve the Gun Control debacle then what will they run on.
LRDOLYNWD@reddit
LOL be real man. Ain't shit gonna happen, maybe a token bone or two thrown but actually doing something is not what politicians are for.
secutores@reddit
Absolutely we won’t see any progress. There are no votes in resolving a problem just in prolonging conflict. See also universal heath care.
TristanDuboisOLG@reddit
Do we still hold the Supreme Court too?
dubbs911@reddit
Probably dicks in hands…
Token_Black_Rifle@reddit
Amen. But we know ain't shit going to happen.
masterbanana12@reddit
Who cares? At least we won't get our semi autos banned. Imagine if Kamala won the presidency, senate, and house.
We'd be absolutely fucked within the first few weeks/months.
LibertyMike@reddit
Probably not, but one thing that's different is there's no *RUSSIAGATE* this time to to make the spineless wonders cower about supporting the president.
ImCaffeinated_Chris@reddit
If we can't get our 2A stuff passed in the next 4 years, then they never will be.
hamb0n3z@reddit
"Gun rights? Um, that was just pillow talk baby."
SgtToadette@reddit
We’re so accustomed to sending letters to our reps to ask them to oppose bills, but if there’s something that is a legislative priority for you, be sure to let them know. Send letters and articulate specific points that should be addressed.
Ok-Image1782@reddit
My dicks in my hand RN...
Adventurous-Coyote20@reddit
Dick in hand mostly
Chet_Manley24@reddit
Probably not going to see much change.
I would love for SBRs and suppressors to not be NFA items, at least with this administration there may be a glimmer of hope.
WeirdSysAdmin@reddit
I’m kind of expecting him to lose it with the assassination attempt. He just learned to not say “take the guns first, due process second” in public.
614710@reddit
He banned a fucking piece of plastic before.
Machine_gun_go_Brrrr@reddit
Thankfully the courts stopped that from happening again. Now all the rinos will just pass gun control in the senate
614710@reddit
I hope not. Hopefully the attempt on his life sparked the genetic history of past patriots.
614710@reddit
Let's get a restock of the CMP with some M4's.
556_enjoyer@reddit (OP)
Does not help the attempt was made with an AR
alkatori@reddit
Republicans remove gun rights from their platform.
Drew1231@reddit
One word:
Judges
COporkchop@reddit
The ISSUE of gun rights is far more valuable to the Republican party than the actual rights themselves. If you "solve" the problems in any tangible way you can no longer motivate a chunk of the electorate to come out and vote for you to fix the problem.
It's semi-analogous to Democrats and abortion. With a handful of true believer exceptions, most politicians only care about an issue insofar as it can be used as leverage to extract votes from the public.
When Obama had a supermajority and the Democrats controlled both houses you didn't see them "solving" gay rights, or abortion rights, or healthcare. Dredged up Mitt Romney's heritage foundation drafted plan for healthcare reform and presented it as a scrap to their base and said "look we're fixing healthcare".
If they give you what you want then you no longer need them, and they can't allow that to happen.
Crashkt90@reddit
I'm going to be brutality honest. Every time there is a shooting that make main stream media no matter the size. Kiss your NFA items unregulated gone for years.
sirkev71@reddit
I think Firearm rights are gonna take a hit (maybe not as bad as they would have with the shoe on the other foot but still a hit)
jim2527@reddit
Dick in hand.
GeekyDadddy@reddit
He uses insults to describe me and my brothers and sisters. He has no honor. I use an insult to describe him. Figure it out.
PinballFlip@reddit
Jokes on you, one issue voters … Trump doesn’t give a crap about guns except that he wants to take them because a dictator doesn’t want its populous armed.
Machine_gun_go_Brrrr@reddit
No different then Kamala
SpiritCrusher421@reddit
Trump might but the party doesn’t. Can’t say the same for the other side who openly says they want to take our guns lol
addictedtohardcocks@reddit
We don't know who controls the house yet
Environmental_Log792@reddit
Given the republican party’s recent (inside of 10-15 years) history on 2A issues, I doubt we are going to see any movement, but if another mass shooting were to happen, we might see regression, like what we saw with the Vegas shooting.
The reality is that the Republican Party is not as cohesive as the democrats on 2A issues, and the majority of republicans are spineless on 2A because some are fudds or they have little to no understanding on 2A regulations.
Devils_Advocate-69@reddit
They need it for the next election.
hardworkingemployee5@reddit
Trump passed more gun control than Obama. What do you think, that trump will protect your rights? 😂
Linkstas@reddit
I just want constitutional carry and the nfa repealed entirely. Is that too much to ask ?
consultantdetective@reddit
There are blocs the GOP has to really fight for and there are blocs the GOP does not. Gun owners are the latter. There's near-zero mechanism of accountability for gun owners to sway the party at large to make progress on our issues since Dems refuse to make a decent offering on gun policy. Unless the dems get real on gun policy coming out of their election post-mortem, our issues will continue to be seen as a low priority bloc to do very much for.
ChargerIIC@reddit
Trump was anti-guns until he turned Republican. If he isn't forced he won't act on it at all
ArgieBee@reddit
Probably a tiny bit, but I don't expect a ton. The NFA isn't getting repealed. At the absolute most, maybe suppressors or SBRs get off the NFA, but even that's a stretch.
mkosmo@reddit
The big difference is that Trump doesn't have to worry about reelection this time around, so he has more political runway to play with.
Play_GoodMusic@reddit
I mean if Trump does what he says he wants to do, then the ATF will be abolished. We don't need a government organization to handle 3 things that are legal. Like 3 employees can handle that work load.
IllSprinkles7864@reddit
Do you want the real answer or the post-euphoric election win answer?
MedievalFightClub@reddit
The best I expect is for the ATF to chill out for a few years. I won't hold my breath for anything more substantial than that.
StorakTheVast@reddit
It's 2024 and y'all still think politicians on either side will do anything useful
gecon@reddit
Depends on how gun owners react. If they pressure reps enough, something will be done.
I think the smartest strategy would be calling on Elon to disband the ATF as part of his government efficiency review. Imagine no more arbitrary ATF rules & regs. That by itself would be a major win for gun owners.
FutebolEngineer@reddit
I propose dick in hand be shortened to DIH, and yes, we will stand around with DIH no matter how much I want to hope they’ll do something productive.
EarlBeforeSwine@reddit
Trump’s only record on 2A is anti. I wouldn’t expect anything from him.
l0lud13@reddit
Not without 60 senators. But realistically he will rescind Biden’s executive orders which will be a very good thing.
dealsledgang@reddit
They would need to remove to fillibuster to do anything big.
Flip side is once democrats are in charge again, they drop all their gun control laws on the country.
Swimming_Schedule_49@reddit
This is our chance to end the NFA. Make it happen!!
Substantial_Rich_946@reddit
Unfortunately, both hands, I think, as far as executive agenda. Hopefully, more good court appointments with trickle-down effects on recalcitrant lower courts.
FunWasabi5196@reddit
Nope. 2016 all over again. At least there shouldnt be a national ban
GFEIsaac@reddit
Money makes the world go round. Since gun owners generally don't use their money to support gun causes, I'm gonna say no, I don't expect any pro gun legislation.
SirSquire58@reddit
AHAHAHAHAHAFUCKNOTHEYWONTDOANYTHING
HollowPandemic@reddit
It'll be the same as his "healthcare plan" more running his mouth and less actually doing anything like every other politician. Politicians don't like guns
SilverStryfe@reddit
Why would they solve the issues that they campaign on? Republicans are masters at convincing people that government doesn’t work, and then proving it by doing nothing when there.
Trump wasn’t silent on guns during his first term. Or have we forgotten “Take the guns first, give them due process after”
rustyspartan@reddit
repeal the nfa
MondoPentacost@reddit
Not likely, but no one is coming after you semi auto sand existing laws can challenged through the Supreme Court, without it meaning stacked with gun grabbers. Small blessings
GeekyDadddy@reddit
Of course tRump is silent on the 2nd Amendment. He doesn't care about firearms rights. He only cares about keeping his own ass out of prison.
dutchman76@reddit
Trump doesn't GAF about gun rights, but hopefully people who work for him do.
Or maybe some enterprising Senator/congressman will get it going.
Marky-Man@reddit
First time?
SphincterWrinkles@reddit
ya'll already know they'll do nothing lol
ervin_pervin@reddit
4 more years with dicks in our hands. I'd love to be proven wrong but works more for them to keep us starving than to nourish. It doesn't help that the other side of the aisle would prefer to obliterate us.
CranberrySuper9615@reddit
Dick in the hand OP. Which is definitely frustrating. But try to understand it could be so much worse.
PM-UR-N00dz@reddit
Very slim chance of this happening. It’s not a priority for either party.
MomsFister@reddit
Not likely.
