2600 calories, what the fuck
WillingnessNew533@reddit
263 grans of sugaaar. This is insane.. augarly drinks in europe max have 12 grams
Pinglenook@reddit
Max 12 grams is bullshit, a 200 ml glass of freshly squeezed orange juice already has 16 g sugar. A McDonalds milkshake in the Netherlands has 51 g sugar.
Still a wild difference from 263 g though!
Jetstream-Sam@reddit
Huh, a medium one here in the UK is 250 ml and 57g. I'm surprised it's different, I would have thought they'd be standard across most of Europe.
Unless it's just a different flavour having more or less sugar I guess.
acrazyguy@reddit
UK isn’t Europe. Y’all made that decision a few years back
cunth_magruber@reddit
Europe and European Union are different things. Y’all.
acrazyguy@reddit
And the EU would be why the servings are the same across Europe. And the UK is not part of the EU. Now do you understand my comment?
cunth_magruber@reddit
And there are other countries in Europe not in the EU. Now do *y’all* understand why servings would vary across Europe? And why there is different sugar taxation? Y’all?
acrazyguy@reddit
You seem to be confused. I never needed help understanding why the servings would be different. The commenter I replied to said they thought the servings would be the same since the UK is in Europe, which it only is geographically, which was my point. Idk why you’re so pressed about y’all either. I’m from the American South. I say “y’all”. In fact, I like it because it provides clarity that the plural “you” doesn’t have.
cunth_magruber@reddit
You know exactly what you were doing and everybody can see it. This backtracking is almost as cute as “y’all.” Enjoy your new president and keep arguing in multiple subs, y’all.
Pinglenook@reddit
I looked it up for the vanilla milkshake! But I do think there are differences between countries
cunth_magruber@reddit
Different tax on sugar prob just as much of an influence as local taste preferences
Fragrant-Employer-60@reddit
That’s just BS… I googled and a 12 oz can of Coca-Cola in Germany has 30 grams, 36 in USA. Like not even close lol
WillingnessNew533@reddit
Milk in Usa per serving has 13 g of sugar. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Organic-Valley-Organic-2-Reduced-Fat-Milk-Ultra-Pasteurized-Half-Gallon-64-oz/22038338
Fragrant-Employer-60@reddit
Take the L and move on
WillingnessNew533@reddit
Truth hurth. Everything in USA is so more sweet. Why is so hard to admit it?
ugavini@reddit
Thats 65.75 teaspoons if I'm calculating it correctly. Almost 4 cups of sugar. Can that be real?
fonix232@reddit
Quarter kilo of sugar.
Even with my considerably sweet tooth, I need 3-4 months to go through a kilo package.
This one milkshake contains more sugar than I put in my coffee and tea in a MONTH.
notabigmelvillecrowd@reddit
Lol, I just searched my grocery history, i bought a 4kg bag of sugar over 2 years ago, I'd say it's about half full now. I kg per year? And that's for 2 people. Someone's out there drinking half my yearly amount of added sugar in one dose.
gorhxul@reddit
Won't need to eat for the next day and a bit 🥴

Quite obvious with the 13g fibre from a chocolate milkshake.

GravelThinking@reddit
Fits in both the congealed and chocotastic food groups.
MatureUsername69@reddit
I know a guy who needed to gain a little more weight to qualify for some gastric surgery and the doctor told him to just eat Culver's
CanadaEh97@reddit
I'm glad I don't live or travel near a Culvers anymore, those Butter Burgers are so good but so bad. Then the need for something sweet after.
DarthPepo@reddit
Looks dense af
6BigZ6@reddit
32 ounces of chocolate sludge. Who could possibly finish one of those?
CasuaIMoron@reddit
32 oz is absolutely insane. A fucking quart of fat and sugar
FizzingSlit@reddit
I'm currently on a pretty extreme diet. This shake is just nearly a weeks worth of calories for me.
squigglyliggily@reddit
yeah, but check it: 90% calcium
DarthPepo@reddit
Perfectly healthy
Decent-Flatworm4425@reddit
And 74% of your recommended salt allowance from a milkshake
MoreCowbellllll@reddit
32 fl oz, also... what the fuck!
DarthPepo@reddit
Yeah, how dense is that?
MoreCowbellllll@reddit
My guess is about 14 lbs / cubic foot. lol
DarthPepo@reddit
As another dude said, like drinking cement lmao
MoreCowbellllll@reddit
Right? I think that's why Culver's calls their version a concrete mixer or some shit like that.
DarthPepo@reddit
Shake so dense you need knife and fork to eat it
MoreCowbellllll@reddit
Shake so dense, OP's Mom married it.
christmaspathfinder@reddit
If you ate your maintenance calories plus three of these things per week (let’s say one during work week and two on weekends, which I’d assume some people do), you’d gain almost 9lbs within 4 weeks.
ZeldaZanders@reddit
I was blown away the first time I saw the calorie content of a blizzard. Like how do they even fit that many calories into a single milkshake?
Healthy_Broccoli1927@reddit
I like the way it lists the vitamin content 🤣
WellDamnBih8@reddit
Personally Im curious as to where the fiber comes in to play lol
Lala5789880@reddit
Hey at least it has protein and fiber.
Xx_Silly_Guy_xX@reddit
Just a little treat
DarthPepo@reddit
A little treat for the whole day
smolsoybean@reddit
I don’t understand how they fit so many calories into it??? What is in it a whole slab of butter or some shit? Like it’s difficult to make anything so small have so many calories, wtf is in this a whole liquified cow?
Fandanglethecompost@reddit
Small?? It's a LITRE of milkshake!
smolsoybean@reddit
WHO NEEDS THAT 😭
thebigj0hn@reddit
That’s a quarter gallon of milkshake.
fuzznuggetsFTW@reddit
People in this thread not realizing that it’s huge.
Would anyone be surprised that two pints of Ben and Jerry’s has a fuckload of calories?
kitaisaradish@reddit
I think the thing is, sure it's huge. But it also advertises itself as a solo drink. 'Serving size: 1'.
Not many people are eating 2 pints of Ben and Jerry's in one sitting. Many can finish a big ass milkshake though.
fuzznuggetsFTW@reddit
Two pints of Ben and Jerry’s, and this big ass milkshake are the same size…
kitaisaradish@reddit
Again. Clearly not understanding my point. I'll simplify it for you.
FOOD takes longer to eat, it's psychologically more filling and makes us feel more full
DRINKS despite being simmilar sizes are EASIER to consume. Because you DRINK them.
You can consume way more calories through drinking as you psychologically don't realise how much you are consuming.
This is 2000+ calories in a single litre of fluid.
fuzznuggetsFTW@reddit
Do you understand that a milkshake is just partially melted ice cream? It’s the same substance.
kitaisaradish@reddit
My GUY, I AM ON ABOUT TIME AND EASNESS TO CONSUME MY BROTHER IN CHRIST.
yes I know icecream = milkshake, my lordy lord 😭
A drink is easier to consume than 2 tubs of ice-cream. A drink is advertised as SINGLE SERVING, TWO TUBS IS NOT
How hard is it to understand. I'm shitting, screaming and crying over here.
fuzznuggetsFTW@reddit
No, it isn’t. It’s Ice cream vs slightly melted ice cream, they are the same shit. It’s not a soda.
It doesn’t matter, it’s still a quart of ice cream either way. That’s the point.
CountTruffula@reddit
They explained the difference between eating and drinking already, I don't think they're saying it's a healthy single drink just why it's more manageable
fuzznuggetsFTW@reddit
And I’m saying that you’re getting the same 1-quart lactose-bomb either way. They are both an equally ridiculous amount of ice cream.
macfail@reddit
If only there was a US customary unit of measure for a quarter gallon.
UGMadness@reddit
I just call them liters even though they’re not exactly the same.

xltripletrip@reddit
I’m sorry. HOW MUCH SODIUM?!?!?!
psysny@reddit

xltripletrip@reddit
Diabetus
Effect_Happy@reddit
263g of sugar????? How???
Strong_Paper2894@reddit
I had to google how much it was 32oz and that is almost 1000ml, so the sugar amount is not so wild ngl (1 quarter of the amount of milkshake)
Iced tea usually have more in proportion tbh / so many baked sweets have that proportion too
so in the end… the problem is drinking a whole liter of milkshake lol not the content
NCC_1701E@reddit
That thing has as much calories as two large McDonald menus (double big tasty, fries, coca cola and mustard sauce), what the actual fuck.
Th3Bl1st3r3xists@reddit
what the hell is a big tasty? European thing?
NCC_1701E@reddit
Brurger with two patties, bacon, lettuce, tomato, onion, slice of emmental and big tasty sauce. My most favourite, I always add jalapenos to it. Isn't it a thing in US?
Th3Bl1st3r3xists@reddit
over here we call them Quarter Pounders/Double Quarter Pounders due to us using Imperial system. no idea what Emmental is! i’m guessing a type of European cheese? Mickey D’s over here gives you a slice of bright orange, processed mystery cheese
NCC_1701E@reddit
Yeah makes sense, Subway probably doesn't use the "footlong" for the same reason. Emmental is Swiss cheese, and a famous one at least here. Although I doubt about the authenticity of the one used in McD.
yoshi_walker@reddit
Fellow mustard sauce enjoyer?
NCC_1701E@reddit
Yeah, that one is the best. It's my go to sauce since the bastards discontinued hot devil sauce.
yoshi_walker@reddit
Here they did the exact opposite, discontinued the hot mustard but kept the hot devil (with Tabasco)
AdrianRP@reddit
I don't know about sweetness, but the amount of fat is like drinking a bar of butter wtf you can live on that drink for a whole day calories wise
utterballsack@reddit
dude 263g of sugar in one sitting is far worse for your health than that amount of fat. the transfat in it is pretty bad but transfats are illegal in europe so
space_cheese1@reddit
Gonna continue a local trend of walking 80 km over 24 hours to a nearby city and my only sustenance will be hourly slurps of this thing

insignificantlittle@reddit
It was a cool bit of local history.
SpookySeraph@reddit
Why is the world obsessed with the belief that sugar in any quantity is bad for you 😭 the artificial sweeteners used instead are significantly worse for your health than sugar will ever be. Unless you’re diabetic I suppose
CalamityBard@reddit
who's saying "in any quantity"? 263g of added sugars is ABSOLUTELY bad for you lmao
SpookySeraph@reddit
Ok yeah that much at once would be a bit wild, but for someone with a body like mine? Wouldn’t really do shit to affect me. Our bodies are literally built to run on sugars, so the constant bashing is weird to me, a milkshake of that size doesn’t seem like th type someone would eat in one sitting anyways tbh
CalamityBard@reddit
Our bodies are built to run on NATURAL sugars. Complex carbohydrates. We literally don't process refined/added sugar nearly as well as naturally-occuring glucose/fructose. The issue isn't as simple as "sugar bad" and nutrition guidelines have acknowledged this for like 20 years
SpookySeraph@reddit
This is correct, however refined sugars shouldn’t be classed the same as natural sugars imo. It’s deceptive and has led to so so so many problems for people’s health. At this point it’s inescapable though
missilefire@reddit
Literally a whole cake (that I would make at home) has less sugar than that drink.
900ml or not, it’s an insane amount of sugar for ONE DRINK.
jonorrhea357@reddit
But... The doctor told me I needed more fiber in my diet!
SouperSally@reddit
Yeah my daily calorie intake is 1200 there’s no way I’d be comfortable digesting that
Nephr0pt0sis@reddit
That is dangerously low dude
DuckRubberDuck@reddit
Not for short women, my maintenance is like 15-1600, so if I’m trying to lose weight I need to be at 1200
SpaceGoat88@reddit
Exactly. I'm also a short woman, and I've lost over 100 lbs just monitoring my calories. I'm pretty familiar at this point with my TDEE.
SouperSally@reddit

FinnBalur1@reddit
Your calorie intake for the day in just one drink
Cheesy--Garlic-Bread@reddit
as someone with an extremely fast metabolism, the calories aren't much of a concern to me. however that's a LOT of fucking sugar, oh my god
Different_Stand_5558@reddit
Slow metabolism haters. I corral downvotes in other subs every time I talk about how if I eat 10 extra meals it’s just 5 extra bathroom trips. Near zero weight gain unless I’m lifting weights.
Sugar is a poison at this point. Fake sugar is even worse over time. I’m sure a few sips of that shake taste amazing. But it needs like another 20oz of skim milk and shared with 2 families.
Van_Goghurt@reddit
I also have a fast metabolism but horrible acne. Too much sugar for me!!
Kim_Nelson@reddit
Even more than the calorie intake per day for some. My ideal intake is around 1900, 2000 max. That shit is bonkers.
PoliteCat1@reddit
why would it be illegal?
FinnBalur1@reddit
Because it’s poison, and worst of all it’s advertised to kids. There should be laws protecting consumers.
PoliteCat1@reddit
it is not as if the customer had no choice to buy the fat drink
BathEqual@reddit
263g of sugar? wtf?
Blue2487@reddit
I like how they didn't even put the DV% of added sugar on that. It's probably all added sugar anyways.
526% but yeah
AranaesReddit@reddit
pretty sure this milkshake was from the early 2010’s, Added sugar wasnt added on labels until 2016
P4nd4c4ke1@reddit
260g of sugar? I thought 50g was alot 😅
Ver_2137@reddit
One sip and you are dead💀
Jowlzchivez6969@reddit
It’s a quarter gallon… most ice creams are a 2/3rd or 1/2 cup serving size and around 180-230 calories. This is either 47.7 servings of 2/3rds a cup or 64 servings of 1/2 cup. You’re drinking fat and sugar and while delicious it is unbelievably calorie dense. The math roughly checks out though it says 1220 calories from fat, then you have the sugar 263gX4 for 1052 calories from sugar and then 38grams of protein for 152 more calories which brings it to 2424 calories but they put 2600 im sure to make it a safe estimate
trashcan_hands@reddit
There's no fucking way those are the real nutrition values...
Little-Moon-s-King@reddit
I can even eat THAT MUCH calorie in one day (I'm small) WTF ???

annatariel_@reddit
I have been overcome now with a desire to drink one of these
Happy-Setting202@reddit
Honestly if you replaced some of the fat with more protein by a measure of say 70-80 grams, this would actually be a decent bulking option. Perhaps by using low fat vanilla Greek yogurt. Obviously it’s still a shit ton of sugar but macros are macros.

But seriously I want to pour 263g of sugar into a bowl and see how much it is 😆
SpaceToaster@reddit
Fun fact: a whole stick of butter is only 92 g of fat. This is a stick and a half of butter. In fact, eating a stick and a half of butter is WAY healthier because it does not have all the sugar and sodium.
lampsy87@reddit
263g of sugar? Is this photoshopped?
TheGamerdude535@reddit
It has to be. And that sodium level should be impossible in a dessert too lol

TheGamerdude535@reddit
How in the fuck does that shake have so much sodium in it???
Pinglenook@reddit
As a European who likes sweet, I think this is just too much in general! It's basically a liter of slightly melted ice cream? Give me 1/5th or 1/4th of it and I'll probably enjoy that (and then maybe later regret it, but oh well.
Fandanglethecompost@reddit
So people actually drink one of these on their own? My family of 4 would share this quite comfortably - and I'm including two bottomless pits aka teenagers.
CanadaEh97@reddit
I've seen people get gallon jugs of sweet tea at a McDonald's in the US or some truck stops, pour it into their bubba keg or whatever and head back to their semi or vehicle.
Mostly_Apples@reddit
No one should want more than 1/4 of this. It feels like trying to drink all of that would be a punishment.

Why the simple syrup?!?!? Its not sweet enough already?!?
Total_Volume7233@reddit
The only possible explaination I can think of is that syrup/sugar is much cheaper that Oreos and milk, which is why producers put as much in as physically possible to cut costs to a bare minimum with complete disregard for the health of the consumers. As European, I would feel very nauseous even drinking half of this. Not to mention the 2600 kcal per serving, that’s just unbelievable as I usually eat at least 1000 kcal less than that.
rdldr1@reddit
It probably has additives that's banned in the EU.
