Good way to start the morning

Probably one of the roughest backing experience I've had in a while, I probably made it harder than it needed to be, had to back up down that little access road to get a good angle though the encouragement from the 4 wheelers that followed me back here were nice, and they were patent.

Everyone at work calls me a bitch but I always make it as easy on myself as possible. Fuck that blindside backing from the tiny street. Pull in past the building, turn around, swing past the spot at a 45 angle and sight side that bitch. The exit even curves at the right angle for you too.
RevealIndependent392@reddit
I would have backed around the building assuming you came in there that small driveway
HighwayStar71@reddit
I can't see it in person so it's probably harder than it looks but enter through that driveway on the lower left, make a right 180 back out through driveway and you're set up for a sight-side back.
Ornery_Ads@reddit
I'd pull in, back up blindside towards the dock, but not actually try to bump it, then pull forward into the access road and back up to the actual dock.
Wheelman519@reddit
No kidding. What are people thinking?! 🤣
brsrafal@reddit
Doesn't look that bad u turn or blindside could b bad w trucks on way
blackjavelin777@reddit (OP)
There indeed were pickups in the way, I tried a u turn at first, but I would've destroyed my cab extenders
brsrafal@reddit
Come in hug to the left pull u turn looks big enough for sure. Come out back right in

Are you on an account with Werner or OTR? I’m on my last week of training and will be doing OTR solo
blackjavelin777@reddit (OP)
I've done OTR for about a year and a half, and then I helped different accounts when OTR money was drying up then I went dedicated, currently helping best buy account during it's surge
ChrisA575@reddit
Nice they are my first company since I had a guaranteed job out of school from them. I’ve been training up in Illinois with a trainer who is local on the Walmart account. Hope they give me my miles gotta pay off this school debt.
blackjavelin777@reddit (OP)
They'll probably run you pretty good were getting into the holiday season, but I'd always keep an eye out for any open accounts that you may want to try

Specific_Island_6327@reddit
Yeah been there haven’t done that lol. But when that gut tells you to GOAL and you do you usually end up thanking God you did. Haha.

Without seeing the full parking lot satellite image, I would've come through from back of the parking lot and stayed on the left, of course assuming that was an option.
I think that alley is too narrow for full size trucks and that those arrows are for cars. Best Buys, if they install audio equipment at that location, it usually happens in the rear of the building and I think that is what those arrows are for, that or to indicate that the alley is a one-way alley.
With all that being said, my last option would be to come in from the access driveway, pull to the right back up so my trailer goes along the left side of the building, pull forward and set myself for a sightside backing. In a sense, do a three point u-turn.
Regardless, it is a crap location for the uninitiated.

Not saying OP, but I find it redicously retarded how drivers don't use all this free technology like Google satellite view and preplan their route, I do this 100% of the time when you go somewhere new, you can see guard shacks and everything so you know where the truck entrance is or if you can make a turn. Drive 'I know of' the other day turned onto a wrong street and had to call the police to back him out. They asked if he preplanned his trip he said no just put it in the gps and started driving
blackjavelin777@reddit (OP)
🤣 I fight my GPS daily because it will route you through some bs that could've been avoided if you just pulled over and checked sat images of the area and cross-referenced them with weight restrictions or height restrictions, but like today I checked that alley that would've been my first route in and when I got to the store a clapped out van was blocking the area need to swing for that turn.

I live by this Best Buy.

Welcome to my life. This is pretty par for the course for a grocery driver. If you could've come down that alley from the front of the Best Buy parking lot it would've been a much easier back... but, it looks like it's maybe too narrow, even without all the dumpsters, shopping carts, and random what have you that I'm sure are probably back there but don't show on Google.
I could probably make that back with a big issue but, if you're not used to those kind of docks, I could see it being difficult. Hopefully, a guy in a big rat suit brought you out a couple slices of pizza and a cold fountain drink after to make up for it.
blackjavelin777@reddit (OP)
Yea, I took a nice hard look at that alley. I decided that would be my primary route in, but when I got to the store it a " no semi trucks " sign next to it ,so I had to improvise and ruin everyone's day lmao
CaptianBrasiliano@reddit
iYou know, I do actually see arrows going down into that alley and coming around... those arrows usually indicate a truck route. But DAMN that alley looks tight. You never really can tell until you see it in person.
After further examination I think I would have tried coming in on that little driveway, then take the cab in as far as you heading towards the docks. Then cut it left and do as much of a 180 as you can... Then back the trailer not to the dock right away... but down that little space to the left of them. Then, with the trailer straight cut as hard of a right as you can, pulling past the docks, then back left until you run out of room in front of you. Then your trailer would be pointed in the right general direction and you could offset back it. I think that's the move.
blackjavelin777@reddit (OP)
Yea, I definitely didn't do myself any favors, but it was a challenging and enjoyable experience

Best Buy’s are always a little tough for some reason. But you got it in and that’s what matters
