Question on violations

I just got pulled over for a safety inspection for the first time today in my one year of driving, caught a violation on the trailer I had of air hose unsecured and laying on axel 4
My question is, is this considered a moving violation? I was not placed out of service if that matters at all
I'm hoping to get out of this company in December once the student loans are paid off and need to know if this will hinder me finding a better paying job
Also if area of incursion matters as well I am in SC

If you work for a mega in the future, there's a really good chance they will see it and ask.
If you work for a 20-100 fleet, it's about a 50-50 shot of them seeing it.
Sub 20 truck fleets almost never ask for a PSP, but depending on their industry, their insurance might

Where did you get that info from? A PSP is accurate and cheap to obtain. Any carrier NOT pulling a PSP is too stupid for any decent driver to want to work for.

Personal experience is my only source.
I worked for 3 companies that has less than 20 trucks before being am O/O. When applying to jobs, only 1 of dozens ever asked for it.
I'm not a small fleet (obviously less than 20) and when I ask drivers for their PSP they seem like they've never heard of it.

You shouldn't be asking for their PSP, you should be pulling it yourself.

I know I can pull it, but I have to get the prospective employee to sign a disclosure agreement. That same employee could get it on their own and bring it with them for an interview.
Same goes to MVR.
Hell, nothing says the carrier is the only one that can make a copy of the drivers CDL either.

youre fine

No, the ticket goes against the carrier and their SMS. This will appear on your PSP though. So anyone checking your background in the future will see it.

That is unfortunate, so long as it doesn't count against me to badly I am not worried about it then that is good to know. Thank you for the help bc other than this now, I have nothing on my driving record that will affect my future chances

Your driving record is the the one you need to watch the most. Then reportable accidents. Finally, you'll have the equipment violations. If you work for a carrier that doesn't take care of their equipment it will eventually pile up and hurt you. You also need to be diligent on your inspections though and force your employer to fix shit. It's best for you because if not it will eventually ruin your PSP.

It's not a citation just an inspection violation. It'll fall off of your PSP in 3 years and isn't a particularly serious hindrance to getting hired unless it's part of s pattern.
