M.2 NVME PCIe compatibility w/ motherboard

I've read that having a M.2 PCIe adapter can slow your GPU down on certen boards. I'm not quiet sure how to check that so I was wondering if someone here could help me out.
I have a TUF GAMING B550M-PLUS and a 3060TI. I was wanting to buy a 4TB SSD for media storage but both of my M.2 slots are used up and since SATA and NVME are pretty much at price pariety I've thought about spending 10 bucks and getting an expansion card.

Is there any reason this won't work or will nerf my GPU?

The riser must be installed in the bottom PCIe slot to not affect the GPU.

So if it's
PCIeX1 bluetooth/WIFI
PCIeX16 1 GPU
PCIeX16 2 M.2 adapter
It should be fine?

Yes. Top slot goes to the CPU, the rest are all shared through the chipset's x4 lanes to the CPU.

The mobo's specs or manual will tell you if that is the situation. It won't be an issue on that mobo anyways.
