Day trip with the doggo?

I have some time off at work that I need to burn before the end of the year
Looking to make a few one day road trips where I can bring my dog and we can go hiking and walk around nature, preferably with some good hiking or waterfalls or cool nature thingies. She’s not a big swimmer.
3 hr drive or less since I don’t want to spend the night?
Any suggestions?

Hidden cove park at Lewisville had barebones cabins for rent. Then walk around the park. But bring spray cause coyotes are there

seconding Tyler State Park. Great day trip, and now before it starts getting too cold, but after the triple digit days are done, is an excellent time of year.

I like the trails up at Ray Roberts.

Buckees have nice rest areas for dogs when you’re on the road. Grassy area with poo bag dispensers, trash cans and water spigot.
