is linux essentials a good starting point (for linux administrator) for certification or should I go for LPIC-1? what about linux+ , is it even worth it?

I have no linux experience at all. Total noob, but familiar with computers. CUrrently taking class 1 of 3 ccna + studying for A+ exam.

If you're a total noob, I'd just focus on your A+ cert. In terms of learning the Linux CLI basics, my recommendation is to start here: http://www.linuxcommand.org/
If you're interested in becoming a network engineer I recommend the CCNA, but otherwise, I recommend the Network+ just due to the fact that it's a bit more generalized, and doesn't explicitly focus on CCNA hardware. I work as a Linux Sysadmin, and I don't build and maintain networks, but the information from the Network+ has been a great help in terms of troubleshooting networking issues. I've only once had to configure a Cisco firewall, and I was able to fumble my way through that...
Also, I feel that for me at least, the book study makes a lot more sense, after applying some of these skills to actual work, and real-world problems. My recommendation would be to not get to overloaded with theory, certs, book study, and maybe try to find a job, where you can learn some of those skills in real world scenarios. You'll get a lot more out of studying for and obtaining the certs you and others have mentioned here. Get your A+ though, that looks good on the 'ol resume while you're applying for jobs.
If you're in the Denver, CO or VA area, DM me. I may have something for you...

Avoid CompTIA crap like a 5 day old gas station hot dog. Absolutely useless in any job search you can name.

The only thing a A+ does for your resume is get a huge belly laugh from any of the IT team that reads it. My dog could pass the A+ test. It has ZERO VALUE for any IT job, even a super noob level 1 job (only exception is Security + which is required by many US Government jobs - it's still a joke, but if you want Uncle Sam to be your employer, you follow their requirements)

A+ is the industry standard. You don’t have it, you rule yourself out of the algorithm. Every tech job lists it as a required or preferred cert. It’s probably the only comptia cert worth getting because of this; that, and the security +, due to its in demand value for gov tech jobs.

Linux+ is great for noobs. Other people may shit on it but it’s definitely a great learning experience.

No, it's not - it's a complete waste of time and money. Like all CompTIA certs, it's just a paper mill money maker FOR THE VENDOR and provides pre-school level education to the poor sap that wasted their time and money prepping and then taking that drivel.

Sounds like someone who studied for the piece of paper instead of studying to retain information.
