He’s going to win the popular vote too.
Pepe__Le__PewPew@reddit
This, to me is the bigger news.
jeropian-moth@reddit
It’s a sign to them that they’re out of their fucking minds and regular people are over it
Pepe__Le__PewPew@reddit
100%. The process by which she was put in place was unacceptable, and the dems are paying for it right now.
The continued name calling and branding everyone that is not on their side of the line as a "[insert slanderous term]-ist" divisive and a bad strategy.
landmanpgh@reddit
I live in Pennsylvania.
Didn't vote in 2012 because I didn't care.
Voted for Clinton(!) in 2016 because I thought Trump might actually start WW3.
Voted for Trump in 2020 because he did not, in fact, start WW3.
Voted for Trump in 2024 to save us from WW3.
The Democrats never really had me on their side, but they could've actually tried to win my vote. Instead, they moved way far to the left while demonizing me and calling me the greatest threat to the country.
I will never vote for a Democrat again.
GotStomped@reddit
I feel very similar but I’m Canadian and our choices are horrible.
little_brown_bat@reddit
Pa here too. My dad had been a lifelong straight ticket Dem. because he was a strong supporter of the unions (he worked in the mines and as a sprinkler fitter and was in the union of both). If he were alive, he would be ashamed of what the Democrat party has become today.
In 04 I voted Dem because I didn't agree with Bush's involvement in Iraq. In 08 I voted for Obama but in 2012 I voted Republican because I didn't like the way Obama was leading us. In 16 I voted Trump because at that point I was pretty much fed up with the Dem. party and Hillary's braindead take on "video games cause violence" while she was in New York didn't sit right with me and I figured if she was that uninformed on something as small as video games then what is she going to do when it comes to the big issues. Then I also voted Trump in the next two elections because the alternative was dog water.
fenderc1@reddit
This was literally me. I'm personally not a fan of either and wasn't going to vote, but was on a trip with some friends not too long ago and was basically chastised for generally leaning right & being pro2A while vacationing in a different country by a ultra liberal friend of ours. It pissed me off because I was just trying to enjoy the vacation so came back and voted opposite of her.
Stellakinetic@reddit
That’s why people are leaving the left, because they’re just becoming stuck up assholes that don’t accept any criticism and will freak out if you don’t follow their strict “rules”. If you question one decision the left makes, you get called a Trump supporter so I think a lot of people said fuck it, I’m a Trump supporter lol. I tend to agree with the Young Turks guy (his name is crazy & I can’t remember.. Cenk?). The dems are unrecognizable as a party & are sucking on the teat of identity politics because that’s what the donor money tells them to do.
Blue_58_@reddit
You dont see a problem with voting out of spite instead of voting to support a candidate's policies? Like, you dont feel anything at all for the women dying and children born into terrible situations because of abortion bands? You're not concerned with the fact Trump offered the cabinet positions to RFK, Herschel Walker and Elon? You voted because you felt offended by your friends?
PirateRob007@reddit
The supreme Court literally kicked the abortion thing back to the states. Hate to tell you, but neither trump or Kamala could change that.
Blue_58_@reddit
You know the president nominates the judges that go in the supreme court?
killmrcory@reddit
even RGB said roe was a deeply flawed decision and those flaws would lead to be overtime.
everybody knew it was bad law. Just because you liked the effects doesn't change the fact it should have never existed in the first.
Blue_58_@reddit
Why do you pretend scotus is anything but a partisan institution? It doesn’t matter how “good” or “bad” a law is. Scotus simply passes a judgement based on their opinion and personal politics. That’s why scotus rulings are 99% of the time divided across ideological lines.
Bottom line is, a vote for the president is also a vote for justices that align with the ideological framework of said president
killmrcory@reddit
did i ever claim otherwise?
that said you just dont understand jurisprudence and its function within our system
the difference is how they interpret rather than a strictly political one.
this response is also hilarious considering justices on both sides said it was bad disproving your entire point.
really should have thought this response out a bit more. your response was entirely emotional, not logical.
Blue_58_@reddit
Why do just say things that are easy to disprove? Like, stuff that is braindead easy to verify
It was a 6-3 vote, do you wanna guess what the political affiliations of the 6 and the 3 were or the political affiliation of the president that nominated them?
Yall love to play dumb
killmrcory@reddit
once again, you can ignore the fact that justices from both sides said it was bad law but that doesn't change anything.
what exactly do you think you have disproven, let alone easily?
you think ignoring facts that are inconvenient is a refutation?
boy youre not playing dumb, you are dumb.
Blue_58_@reddit
They didn’t. The justices who dissented expressed their opinion. Never do they express a disagreement with the original ruling.
https://www.politico.com/news/2022/06/24/dissent-against-scotus-decision-to-overturn-roe-v-wade-00042254
So how will you move the goalpost? How will spin this?
killmrcory@reddit
do you know who RGB is or are you being a disingenuous moron on purpose?
Blue_58_@reddit
Im sorry, did she vote to overturn roe v wade? Also what opinion does RGB about all the partisan rulings made by this scotus?
You have no argument against my main claim that scotus is a partisan institution. All you got is a the musings of a dead judge about the technicality of a ruling, which she still in an official capacity supported.
killmrcory@reddit
i mean i could cire all the decisions from the current court that didn't fall on party lines but i dont think youd acknowledge them considering the way you are just disregarding all the other facts you dont like.
just ignoring facts isnt an argument bud.
she didn't need to be a part of the decisions for it to support my point. you arw just arbitrarily imposing that requirement because you have no actual argument and cant bring yourself to admit it
PirateRob007@reddit
Are you suggesting abortion will be legislated on the federal level again and once again have to go back to the supreme courts to get slapped down?
Blue_58_@reddit
A liberal scotus defends abortion. A conservative ones kicks it down to the states. It’s really that simple. Judges are partisan individuals who make rulings according to their personal politics.
PirateRob007@reddit
The supreme Court is supposed to be a place for constitutionalists, not political hacks. The recent Trump nominations were much more in line with this than Garland or KJB. It wasn't as simple as a justice either supports abortion or doesn't, slapping it down was a matter of the federal government being forced to cede power on an issue that rightfully belongs to the states.
Blue_58_@reddit
The vote was 6-3, on partisan lines. Every major decision scotus has passed from trumps presidency has been on partisan line. All of this verifiable of course but it doesn’t matter to you. You know full well that court is conservative and that’s all that you care about. There is no single doubt about how this court will rule.

QuinceDaPence@reddit
I personally think Russia will pull out (though they may make one big strike before doing so, so they can claim it was the mission objective, to save face). They were emboldened by the wet noodle that was the Biden Administration but Trump is too unpredictable for them.
Blue_58_@reddit
Putin said that Trump's election is "good for us (Russia)" and there is enough substantive evidence going back to 2016, 2020 and this year, that Russia has ran interference campaigns in the benefit of Trump. There's no question which candidate he prefers in the white house. So take that as you will.
vrsechs4201@reddit
Putin endorsed Harris you dork. "Russia Russia Russia" was an obvious hoax and anyone that still claims that shit looks stupid as hell.
Trump will probably orchestrate a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine, he's already talked about doing that, and he has a proven track record with peace deals and foreign policy.

Of course he said that. He had to.
The rest of your comment isn't relevant to what I said.
Blue_58_@reddit
Oh you mean evidence to the contrary to your beliefs ?
vrsechs4201@reddit
I'm talking about peace deals, you're talking about cyber attacks. We know Russia does cyber attacks. We also know Trump does peace deals.
Blue_58_@reddit
Okay, brother. You claimed russia wasn’t election interference was a hoax. I show you a bipartisan statement released by your own government saying that it was very real. And you call that “irrelevant”. Talking a brick wall would be more productive. But continue to live in your alternate reality.
vrsechs4201@reddit
quitesensibleanalogy@reddit
With Trump, Russia ain't pulling out of shit unless they decisively lose. They're going to go harder expecting the US to stop keeping the Ukranian army afloat.
lifeishax@reddit
Y’all sure do love killing babies
Blue_58_@reddit
But they're not babies. Have you never masturbated? Your sperm is a living organism. Also, abortion bans dont just affect actual abortions but women having complications during miscarriages.
WesternCowgirl27@reddit
Abortion isn’t banned anywhere. The event you speak of is exceedingly rare, even with these new laws in certain states, if a woman dies from having a complication during a miscarriage. It’s up to the hospitals and private practices to work with state lawyers to make sure everyone is on the same page of understanding the law.
AsianStyle258@reddit
I mean seem like during this post u mention a lot of Ukraine. Maybe you should go over there and help them out.
Blue_58_@reddit
Foreign policy is one of the most important things your government does.
TisConrad@reddit
This is what they are talking about. Good example!
Blue_58_@reddit
Your comment doesnt make sense. I didnt call that poster a [insert]-ist nor any other name. I asked him a question that challenged his behavior. I would never vote for a politician just because a friend said something mean to me. Why would anyone? You guys complain a lot about reddit being a liberal echo chamber, but whenever you get a chance on a subreddit like this you guys always turn it into a conservative echo chamber. Like, what is your response? How do you feel about putting a man that doesnt believe in vaccines in control of public health agencies?
TisConrad@reddit
You can agree in some areas and disagree in others. You shouldn't align yourself purely to one party, it's okay to pick and choose based on issues you agree with and disagree with. You insinuated several negative things against the poster, such as them not caring about women/children or not caring about the Ukranian war, but these things were never stated. You just verbally attacked them and tried to make them look bad by throwing those topics in there. People don't like to talk to/vote for others who do that.
Blue_58_@reddit
But those are explicit polices of the candidate he voted for. Those are consequences of his actions. If there is some particular Trump policy or promise that would be enough to overlook those things I would want to know. What that poster wrote down verbatim "he wasnt a fan of either candidate", "a liberal friend pissed me off", "so I voted for Trump".
Like, is that not what he said? If so, is it not true that he voted for a candidate that support abortion rights, support Russia, and has allegedly promised cabinet positions to unqualified individuals in order to spite his liberal friends? That's what he said, no? If that insinuates bad things about that poster, I didnt come up with it, he said it himself.
Im not trying to be a jerk, im genuinely asking, is what im saying not true? Even if he doesnt agree with those things, he voted for them. And for what?
TisConrad@reddit
I'm not sure that you're entirely open to conversation here, considering your responses. I can't speak for OP/commenter, but like I said before, you can agree and disagree on certain stances for that particular candidate. I don't agree with everything Trump says or does, but I do agree in certain areas. I'm sure everyone else here feels the same way. Unfortunately, our government is not modular enough to be able to pick and choose how I described above, but I don't think any government is like that.
With the way you worded the comment, you were obviously aiming to stand on a moral highground, and not have a discussion. Statements such as "You don't care for women dying" is not a statement you use to invite discussion. You're just trying to make him look bad. Looking at your recent comment history, it looks like you're doing this everywhere. Not sure what you hope to accomplish, but I hope it makes you feel better.
Blue_58_@reddit
It’s an accusatory statement meant to challenge your position. Women are dying as a direct consequence of abortion bans.
We’re in reddit. What else do you do here but talk to your fellow man? Im aware of the heavy right leanings of this board and whenever I see some shit, I’ll challenge it.
quitesensibleanalogy@reddit
Exactly what he was referring to. Some friends of theirs made him feel so uncomfortable about the consequences his political choices he decided to be a snowflake and say that's why he voted Trump instead of the real reasons.
fenderc1@reddit
That was my point though. I'm pro2A as fuck and also pro abortion as fuck so was going to sit it out altogether. Not offended more so annoyed, but regardless that was basically the entire democratic plan was to just insult the fuck out of people who don't vote for Kamala so people who are centrist like myself or on the fence get pushed over to the other side.
Blue_58_@reddit
Can I ask what specifically was said that pushed you?
rooster440@reddit
Couldn’t care less about the people in Ukraine as they aren’t Americans. Nothing outside of our borders is any concern of ours or our servants.
SayNoTo-Communism@reddit
He isn’t the only one to do this. Many people in various subreddits are claiming democrat name calling was the primary reason for them voting.
Dale_Wardark@reddit
Hi are you me? I got grilled in the discord because I'm generally pro-gun, pro-self-defense, etc. Was gonna do it anyway but it made marching my fatass down to the polling place and voting in a deep blue state all the better lol
glockster19m@reddit
Spite voting isn't generally the best basis for choosing how to vote
If Putin ran for US presidency would you vote for him just because everyone you dislike hates him
Dale_Wardark@reddit
Soooo who was I supposed to vote for? The person who is vehemently against my position and has demonzied my general political leaning as "naziism" and "fascism" or the one slightly less against my position that has been president before and not enacted a single thing they said he would do that was bad?
deadface008@reddit
The word you're looking for is Nazi. I don't want to be eaten alive by the horde of tranqed-out tweakers whaling outside my window like burning souls at all hours of the night, and that desire to live safely makes me a Nazi. Heil fucking .308
Jajanken-@reddit

Yo, I'm regular people and I'm over it. I'm not even conservative but after Joe's dementia turned out to be real, and after the comically obvious social media propaganda, I felt it was paramount to put in maximal effort to ensure a democrat loss. I don't agree with other Biden/Harris policy, but this is what raised the red flag.
I am now a full on "never democrat" person.
ResidentInner8293@reddit
Welcome to the better side.
06210311200805012006@reddit
Thx bro. as a 2a person i wasn't likely to vote dem any time soon anyway, so i was shocked to find that they could alienate me further.
ResidentInner8293@reddit
They were very much about alienating 2a people. It was shocking to me too. Walz fumbling with this firearm, Kamala making a mess of gun laws in our state then threatning to impose mandatory buy backs...it call just became too big to ignore. Ur gonna be just fine over here. We have cookies 😂
Mr_E_Monkey@reddit
And that's what bugs me about the whole thing, I think.
If you (the dems) are really that worried about a "fundamental threat to democracy" or whatever, prioritize that and shut the fuck up about guns for five minutes.
But they couldn't help themselves.
ResidentInner8293@reddit
Yep they really couldn't help themselves. It was pathetic really
06210311200805012006@reddit
DUDE. Get this.
I'm fucking FROM minnesota. Walz is a good guy, a genuintely nice dude that did some good stuff for the state. Seeing him abase himself and tarnish his image for a party that has become a propaganda machine is nuts. part of me feels legitimately bad that the nice grandpa got thrashed so hard but whatever. libshits take note.
ResidentInner8293@reddit
I agree and it's a bummer about Walz. I wanted to like him but the stuff his party was saying made it hard.

MinerDon@reddit
They need to go through the stages of grief. Hopefully they have some introspection in time.
This morning they are doubling down pretty hard as is legacy media.
We just need to give them some time to scream and cry.
RES1EH@reddit
Letting them scream and cry like spoiled brats is the reason they are how they are. It’s time to show them tough love.
MinerDon@reddit
Hi friend. I'm not suggesting anyone coddle them. Let them sit on the floor in the corner rocking back and forth and cry. They need to go through this process.
The final step is acceptance. Hopefully -- hopefully -- once they reach that point they will finally look in the mirror and ask themselves some tough questions.
Perhaps they don't learn and triple down on stupid. Only time will tell.

ivealwaysbeencrazy@reddit
I did some lurking in r/politics. Found this interesting.
DamnAutocorrection@reddit
Yeah they're not willing to recognize the echo chambers they built themselves are actually even more sophisticated than the ones they criticize.
Sub to any US politics subreddit for the past couple years, and anything remotely not portraying trump in the worst possible light all sit at 0 upvotes with hundreds of comments, which means those posts never make it to people's feeds. Remember the second assassination attempt on Trump? Not a single post or article made it to my feed, had to check why, which is when I noticed this trend, which is frankly disturbing as someone who would prefer important news, even if it upsets my worldview.
Then you have the other aspect on the more popular subs becoming incredibly censorship heavy and ban happy. Post something possibly critical of islamists or not in complete condemnation of Israel? That's a ban.
I've taken probably at least 10 or so bans this year, for things that imo weren't even controversial, just trying to have a civil discussion.
Then you take a look at the automatic bans in the big subreddits for even making a single comment in a subreddit they don't like. Whether your comment was just trying to engage or even criticize doesn't matter, it's just an automatic ban.
So now my Reddit experience has gotten to the point where I know I'm probably just going to be banned for making a comment if it isn't completely in support of what the hivemind thinks. Great. I don't let that stop me, but it does mean I'm banned from many of the popular subs I use to enjoy. I'd be lying if I didn't say that it definitely makes me second guess whether a post I make is actually worth the ban, and in turn I sometimes choose not to even post.
mcbergstedt@reddit
Imo it’s Yes and no. They picked one of the most unpopular 2020 candidates to be their nominee without a primary. If they would’ve done an actual primary and picked someone else I believe that Trump would’ve lost.
The only reason Kamala was picked was because of all the money the Biden campaign had already raised. They held that for ransom.
Bourbon-neat-@reddit
Completely glossing over the way it was done, I'm still flabbergasted they picked Harris. It's like everyone collectively memory holed the fact that she got shellacked in the 2020 primary. NGL it was comical to point this out during probably one of the most pervasive and intense astroturfing campaigns I've ever seen on reddit. Everyone came out of the woodwork talking about how great Harris and Wentz were and how long they'd followed them all the way back to Harris sucking and fucking her way to the AG seat of Cali, despite 90% of them probably never having heard of either of them till Biden stepped down.
Due-Net4616@reddit
She was “picked” because otherwise the democrats would have lost all their campaign financing. They had to go with Harris or the new candidate wouldn’t have been able to campaign much. It would have been an even worse slaughter at the polls with most people not knowing who the candidate was.
Difficult-Tooth-7133@reddit
*They/Them
Cliffinati@reddit
The craziest thing is Kamala is sitting at 62m rn Biden got 78m
Like 16 million Americans who voted for Biden didn't vote for Kamala
Trump still got 72M again
lilsuccubae@reddit
Because Harris refused to end the genocide in Palestine. So many liberals opted out of this election. Hopefully all this is going to do is push democrats to ACTUALLY go left if they want to win in the future. Democrat citizens are dying out because people are fed up with centrist bullshit. The true left wants guns, gays, & green lol. And y’know, reproductive rights that aren’t infringed upon by church not being separate from state, and brown Americans to be able to walk around without being demanded to show papers.

Cliffinati@reddit
They just ran the farthest left candidate since at the least Gore, going farther left would lose them the rust belt entirely
hemingways-lemonade@reddit
It's not surprising that ~18 million democrats didn't feel motivated to vote for a candidate they already overwhelming rejected four years ago. The DNC fumbled this election hard by not forcing Biden out before the primaries.
Brufar_308@reddit
They still thought they could pull off weekend at Bidens at that time. I really don’t know how they thought people wouldn’t notice his mental condition.
RES1EH@reddit
Hmmmmmm. I wonder what was up with those 15-16 million votes. Certainly not anything fishy at all in 2020.
LiberalLamps@reddit
I don't know if it's still true, but CNN was saying she did not perform better than Biden in any county in any state in the country, even in the deep blue states.
06210311200805012006@reddit
Bro, based on the losses, Minnesota might be in play next cycle. Dems be shittin bricks.
BeenisHat@reddit
Democrats have been pushing centrist so long they are losing the labor vote and can't figure out why. Now they've tried to secure the fringe votes who were already voting for them anyway, and continue to ignore the working class. Election night comes and it's surprised Pikachu face.
06210311200805012006@reddit
They've been coasting on the 80's "democratic farmer/labor" branding for so long. Really amazing that they managed to do it for decades.
BeenisHat@reddit
To some extent, yes. People are slow to change party affiliation. But the Democrats also learned how to win in the 1990s when James Carville told Bill Clinton "it's the economy, stupid."
He was right then and he's right now.
06210311200805012006@reddit
That's a solid point.
BeenisHat@reddit
If I were running as a Democrat, I'd be going back hardcore to the Kennedy/LBJ era imagery of middle class prosperity and softening losing stances on gun laws and divisive messaging on LGBTQ stuff. A simple statement that I would not sign any new gun laws, but I will provide resources law enforcement needs to go after straw purchasers and dealers who violate existing laws. Our existing laws are sufficient for gun violence. What I will do is draw up legislation to fully fund armed officers for every public school in America, and regular funding for physical security upgrades after schools complete security audits.
The goal is target the working class with stuff they need like promises of universal healthcare, improved labor protections, guaranteed PTO, more generous COL increases for Social Security. Childcare subsidies, higher education tuition caps, student loan forgiveness for public service. If you serve your community, the government should take that into account and reduce your loans.
Plain messaging that whatever color you are, whatever plumbing you carry, whatever sex you like to have, whatever pronouns you prefer; these policies help us all. Rising tide lifts all boats kind of thing. To me, who is a working class white guy in a union, this would have me fired up to vote. I don't give a fuck about culture war BS. Equality is achieved by simply telling government to treat everyone the same and give everyone the same chance at life, and not standing on their necks.
My guns have never killed a person since I've owned them. I've never even had to draw my gun in a defensive situation. Gun laws do nothing but make it harder for me to enjoy my hobby. The last living thing I shot was a Chukar when I was like 13; hunting is fine it's just not my thing.

magillageurilla1987@reddit
Love it. Landslide. They can't even bitch about electoral college this time. Now that he has the senate, the supreme court, and probably the house, he needs to make good on policy promises. I want federal constitutional carry, no bans on ammo/weapons, no overtime tax, etc. Would be nice if he would get rid of federal tax, but I doubt even a right wing government will let that happen. Still too many of them that are greedy thieves...

Gun toting combat vet lib here. I just don't see how the surface level protection of a right that would have zero chance of being restricted thanks to congress and SCOTUS is worth electing a literal felon, a guy that can't legally own a firearm to begin with, much less be able to vote for himself (except you can pay to regain that right in Florida which is another legal whatthefuck entirely), a guy that spews nothing but hate and vitriol, has absolutely no plans to fix anything aside from "not what they're doing, that's for sure!", and very clearly only has the interest of himself and his peers in mind.

“He’s a war hero because he was captured. I like people that weren’t captured.”
Seems about as close to calling pow’s losers as you can get without actually saying it. A common thing Trump likes to do, and conservatives eat that shit up. Same shit different day, just like telling the jan 6 rally that they have to make Mike Pence do the right thing and that they have to fight like hell is completely ignored in the face of his one sentence about peaceful protest while the mob he summoned calls for the hanging of Mike Pence and assaults police officers and break into the capitol building to interrupt the certification of the election.
You people will do anything to bury your head in the sand about how Trump has trampled over the institutions that make America what it is. It’s a fucking disgrace that you people call yourselves conservative and that you stand for the constitution.

Sorry, some people just don't want infinity Hatians bussed in to "revitalize" their public services. Or crossdressers in cabinet level positions.
Weirdos and catladies are getting the boot, normal people are back in charge again.
NoShootGood@reddit
Oh look. There's the hatred.
MarryYouInMinecraft@reddit
Sorry, but I'm not going to pile scorn on Russians 5,000 miles away while ignoring the actions of the most anti-white Presidential regime in history.
It's not a coincidence the stock market hit record highs today and it's the first time in decades a Republican won the popular vote.
You cant stop the unbridled optimism of Americans believing in themselves for once!
NoShootGood@reddit
Why is it that "hey, black people matter and shouldn't be killed for minor crimes" equate to "fuck white people"? They just want to be seen as equals, which they are.
And I hope Trump can keep the stock market there in a few months when he takes over. History tells us that he won't though.
MarryYouInMinecraft@reddit
Arguing FOR affirmative action in court briefs, grands for minority owned businesses only, racial gerrymandering of Covid relief funds, etc.
You just don't get it, wanting black sociopaths to not be shot doesn't give you the right to discriminate against White people. Discriminating against the majority is obscene, to say nothing of it being against the text and spirit of the Constitution.
NoShootGood@reddit
No what I don't get is how white people are being oppressed. They're not. At least not in the same magnitude.
MarryYouInMinecraft@reddit
Glad your freak lost then.
PrestigiousOne8281@reddit
I’m elated. The alternative was probably losing the country as we know it. Idk how you can say what you did after seeing the damage of the last 3.75 years…
NoShootGood@reddit
Losing the country? Dems have done nothing but bolster the economy every time they've been in office at least the past 2 decades, minimum wage increased in many places, unemployment is down, and the stock market is better than when the Republicans were in charge. You're delusional if you think we've gone anywhere but forward since 2020.
ReptillusMax@reddit
Bolster the economy with high inflation, underperforming job growth, real wages down by every metric, prices of goods outperforming worker salary growth, and record high credit card debts because everyday Americans are struggling. Raising the minimum wage is useless if inflation is driving up prices by the same amount if not more like it's been the last 4 years. The dems are gaslighting you and you're buying their shit.
NoShootGood@reddit
If you think inflation is bad now, wait til 200% tariffs are your responsibility. Buckle up, buckaroo.
ReptillusMax@reddit
You mean like the decade low inflation during his last term? Yeah I'd take that any day. The economy has been trash the last 4 years.
NoShootGood@reddit
Look at any chart. It was improving when Trump took office, declining when he left, and is improving again when he's getting it back. Now it's going to continue on its current trajectory that was corrected by the current Admin and Trump is going to take full credit. You can cite me on this when it happens.
ReptillusMax@reddit
Yeah you can blame Democrats governors for the unnecessary COVID lockdowns.
NoShootGood@reddit
Thank them for you being alive. Facts are facts my man. The countries that shut down the hardest the earliest came out best. Could it have been handled better? Absolutely. Was it necessary because people wouldn't do one selfless thing and wear a mask for others? Unfortunately. We're so wrapped up with our individual freedoms that we sometimes forget that other people exist and deserve to live as well.
ReptillusMax@reddit
The facemasks (except for N95) and the vaccines have since been scientifically proven to not be as effective as they thought when the government forced citizens to comply. The 6ft apart mandate has been exposed to be a made up arbitrary number. The most egregious thing was democrats forcing the shut down of businesses when it was completely unnecessary, and now they try to blame it on Trump for bad economy during COVID.
quitesensibleanalogy@reddit
I'm tired of the "its the economy" take on Trump. Give me something that Trump would have done differently to Biden that would have significantly reduced inflation faster. What is he going to do to get prices down right now? Deflation? Inflation should ideally never reverse, just be low and predictable. If we start down that path, a lot of these working class voters are going to lose their job.
On wage growth, neither wages or inflation turn on a dime. See deficit spending spiking inflation and the comparison of wage gains vs inflation rates over the two administrations.
Underperforming expected job growth doesn't mean worse than Trump. If we ignore covid, 2017-2019 total net job growth was 6,382k and 2021 - 2023 was 14,787k. Factoring covid in, because we should to be fair, 2017-2020 net job growth was -2,992k and net job growth 2021 to 2023 was 14,787k. Reducing that number by the covid job losses to represent the easy gains during post covid recovery puts the 2020-2023 net job growth at 5,513k. (sauce

Good luck buying anything when the recession hits, lol. Mfs lack of understanding basic economic concepts is mind-boggling.
He failed to "make Mexico pay for the border," and now the GOP will try to tariff the world. You'll eat those costs, the corporations and wealthy won't. Unions will be attacked and left to die as well.
It's amazing how people vote against their own interests because they think the president has a magical button to control gas and food prices.
Massive, dynamic, and complex systems take time to change and feel the impact of policy decisions. Apparently, that's far beyond the reasoning of the average citizen, who I'm realizing would rather return to the year 1900, including lack of rights for women, where robber barrons ruled the country. A great way to keep people poor is make sure they have to feed kids they didn't want and then make sure they can't get an education to lift themselves out of poverty.
We will have to learn again, I guess. It's a shame your children will be the ones to pay the lions share of the price of your decision based on greed.
Have all the guns you want, and have fun having to sell them to pay for unexpected medical costs or a new garbage quality domestic car at insane prices.

Social programs exist for a reason my guy. The VA is a social program. Disability is a social program. Tricare is a social program.

And you can't say "we'll just make it here!" cuz that'll take years to come to fruition if any company even wants to broach the front load of funds to start manufacturing things here.
There's such a larger picture that is being clouded so heavily by hate and anger towards a false economic enemy.

other than the fact it already has been, and why the fuck should felons have all their rights taken away permanently, "a little more safety and security" is not what the dems want, it is not what we would get if they won, kamala has personally campaigned in favor of gun bans, sure trump sucks but acting like kamala is any better, or like she wouldnt threaten gun rights, thats just fucking delusion
NoShootGood@reddit
My issue is that guns is the single issue thing that puts folks voting for the most vile human being that has been in US politics to my recollection.
CrystalMenthol@reddit
Harris openly advocated for "restructuring" the Supreme Court, and Schumer was on board. The only two Democrats that were on-record protecting the filibuster, Synema and Manchin, were not running again. I'll point out that Roe V. Wade was an immovable constitutional right, until it suddenly wasn't. At least that fight has now moved to the states.
An "activist" federal government with their own custom-crafted judiciary would be, long term, a much bigger problem than four more years of mean Tweets and deregulation, although I admit I probably actually like the deregulation more than you probably do.
It's about more than the guns, for me, although those are a big part of it.

Somehow his supporters ignore 99% of what he says and does, I don't get it.
harley97797997@reddit
The comments are funny. Trump banned bump stocks. Big deal. No one really cared about them anyway. But that's the only anti gun talking point you have.
Meanwhile, Harris, in 2005, banned all guns with Proposition H. After the courts overturned it, she talked about going into legal gun owners' homes to check their firearms.
Then, in the 2020 debates, she said she was going to ban assault rifles with an EO. When Biden told her that's unconstitutional, she brushed it aside and said they could do it anyway.
2A will be secure with Trump in office.
JaunJaun@reddit
False. He’s said himself he’s going to do what he can to ban silencers. After the bump stock ban. And after he was almost killed twice by a loser with a gun.
It’ll be safer, sure. Secure? No.
kokenfries@reddit
“Allow due process, so that no one’s rights are trampled,” Pence said during the meeting, in which a bipartisan group of lawmakers discussed a legislative response to school shooting that killed 17 people last month in Parkland, Florida. “But the ability to go to court, obtain an order, and then collect not only the firearms, but any weapons in the possession of that individual.”
Trump disagreed. A party to hundreds of lawsuits, he argued it is too risky to wait for a court to act when a potentially dangerous person has a gun.
“Or, Mike, take the firearms first and then go to court,” Trump said. “You could do exactly what you’re saying, but take the guns first, go through due process second.”
harley97797997@reddit

The only anti-gun thing to come from the federal government in the last 20 years, came from Trump. It was just bump stocks, but he's been a big government Manhattan neoliberal opportunisy for a long time. It's important to remember this.
turtle_with_dentures@reddit
Really?! The ONLY thing from the feds... Do you have selective memory? During the Biden administration they enacted the pistol brace rule. Which affected drastically more people than the bump stock. Anywhere from 10-40 million Americans. That shit just happened, it's barely been a year.
Even if Trump is anti-gun (he probably is), his actions have resulted in a net positive for firearms rights. The biggest by far were his supreme court appointments.
MomsFister@reddit
Joe Biden made multiple anti-gun executive orders exactly like the bump stock ban.
For fuck's sake kid, be smarter and pay attention.
United-Advertising67@reddit
It's ridiculous how blatantly the Kamalabots lie.
Ammo ban? Pistol brace ban? FRT raid and ban? P80 lawfare? Under 21 extra waiting period? Private sale ban? Any of that shit ring a bell for them?
BeenisHat@reddit
I must have missed where Biden banned my vertical foregrip or collapsible stock. I guess you could be talking about the ghost gun thing that went nowhere.
But none of that changes what I said about Trump. Dude is a big government neolib who made his fortune with backroom deals and shady funding in the Manhattan real estate world.
Don't trust him any further than you can throw his fat ass.
MomsFister@reddit
Braces, receivers, receiver kits, private gun sales redefinitions...just off the top of my head.

FortunateHominid@reddit
They aren't in power yet, so we'll have to wait and see. Though I can confidently say there's a better chance for improving firearm laws now than if Dems won the election. Let's see how it plays out.
quitesensibleanalogy@reddit
I completely agree that the Trump administration is much more likely than the dems to make improvements, I just don't believe they will. On SCOTUS though, Trump adding more justices would be bad. His Scotus picks are a dumpster fire outside of their views on the 2nd amendment. Their church/state 1st amendment rulings are so bad, they had to invent evidence that didn't exist. They have no consistency outside of Rep ideas good, Dem ideas bad. More power for judge's good, fuck the rule of law. Ethics rules? That would hurt the cashflow so they're a no on that.
FortunateHominid@reddit
Great, then we both got the outcome we were looking for.
Agree to disagree. So far his picks appear to have stayed true to the interpretation of the constitution. At least imo. Good chance he gets one more pick during this term. Most think Alito or Thomas given their age, might choose to step down/retire.
uid_0@reddit
Surely well get the Hearing Protection Act passed now, right? Right?
bl0odredsandman@reddit
Seeing as Trump himself said, "I don't like silencers" and that was going to, "seriously look at banning suppressors", I kinda doubt that.

United-Advertising67@reddit
Nah. I think Trump has changed significantly on the issue and won't be doing any of that shit.
I think ATF is gonna be very quiet for the next four years.
BlurryGojira@reddit
I wouldn’t be surprised either. I know it’s pointed out that he appointed pro 2A judges but honestly it feels more like he only did so because it’s what he was “supposed” to do. The first time around he surrounded himself mostly with people that were ultimately loyal to the Constitution over him. I’m a bit more worried this time around. After he said “take the guns first, due process second” you can’t let your guard down with him, no matter what else he says.
Ultimately he’s still got that New York liberal in him, and I say that as a dirty liberal lol. I’m happy to be proven wrong, but I’m not optimistic and I think if any gun rights are expanded he’s not gonna be the one leading the charge. And I’m certainly not expecting anything close to the abolishment of the NFA or ATF

The amount of people on this sub saying how Kamala should have won despite how anti gun she is, is insane, like do these people forget she’s the same woman who tried to ban handguns in SF and while Trump has said and done anti 2A things, he also said on live TV after he got shot with a Ar-15 he wouldn’t ban them, says a lot about who the 2A will be more secure under

Not seething. Depressed because Republicans think Trump will actually do anything good with his term. All he does is give tax breaks to his wealthy friends, fleece the government to line his own pockets (weekly trips to his properties where he charges many times the rate for all of his staff to stay there, many more instances) and fuck up the economy (see tariffs.. prices are going up if he does this, but conservatives apparently don't know how a tariff actually works). Historically, the economy is always better under a Dem, but they keep inheriting bad economies from the GOP (Obama in 08, Biden in 2020). Good job, things are about to get a lot worse for everyone.

Better than the candidate that was for an AWB, mandatory buy back, safe storage laws, and didn't believe in owning a gun for self defense. The choice was suuuper easy to make if you know anything about her history. Unbelievable how anti-gun even gun subreddits are LOL.
jason1906@reddit
That's funny you're a God Emperor has said several times that he would suspend the Constitution Day One. He likes dictators. How the first amendment makes him mad because he doesn't like it when people hurt his feelings. He's also common in that how he is jealous of the Chinese dictator because everyone listens to them they just do what he says and they don't have a constitution to get in the way. If you think Trump is a shit about the constitutional rights of this country you are a clown. Oh yeah and let's not forget about the right that he fought for during covid during the lockdowns under his administration. Ha how fast we forget about the dictator Don.
tricententialghoul@reddit
You can barely compile a sentence, I can’t even comb through half that word salad. Must be a bot account or one of those room temp IQ shills.
Lol you do realize all the dictator nonsense was the exact same shit you guys said last time? And we had 4 years that were completely fine? Like this is legit a repeat of 2016. You should have at least came up with something new and believable this time, obviously no one is going to take that serious. Boy who cried wolf.
Kamala is the most anti-gun candidate we’ve had to date. It’s not up for debate, it’s facts. So Trump winning is a small win for gun voters (if you’re not a shill or a dumb ass.)
jason1906@reddit
You trumpers are so blind and delusional you're in a cult. Unlike you I actually care about America And the Constitution and understand what the American flag stands for. You worship a false Idol and the dictator stuff comes from Trump's own words. Oh yeah a small victory for gun rights but big loss for all constitutional rights.
tricententialghoul@reddit
Nobody is a Trumper here dumb ass, I don’t even like Trump but facts are facts. You’re spewing fear mongering bull shit that’s been parroted since the last time he ran. Half of it’s misinformation the other half is exaggerated BS just to get your candidate to win.
What’s weird is I remember far more restrictions on our constitutional rights when Biden was in office, like censorship, lock downs, forcing vaccines, and far more division than I’ve ever seen in this country.
You don’t care about America if you don’t care enough to see why Kamala is horrible for gun owners and is a totalitarian in general. It’s not Trump we care about, it’s Trump AND he’s appointed judges who are pro gun. Kamalas judges would pass an AWB and buy back program the first week in office if they wanted.
Again, he’s already BEEN in office 😂 you’re not going to convince people that he’s some big bad Hitler this time around. I’m sure you believe Project 2025 is going to happen too.

As a dem myself, they deserve it. They keep pushing for boring “centrist” candidates. Weed is still illegal, minimum wage is still 7.25 Lots of leftists I know either voted for Jill stein or didn’t vote at all. I knew Trump was going to win, I didn’t knew he was going to slaughter her tho.
Beached_Tusky@reddit
If a below-average IQ woman with no credible accomplishments in her career who had essentially vowed to implement blatant censorship, arms confiscation, and remove merit-based paths forward in America was 'centrist', I'd had to see what a true 'leftist' had in mind.
She was deemed extreme left by the Democratic party even before the Presidential run charade kicked in.
PugetFlyGuy@reddit
You are describing authoritarian values, not exclusively left wing values. A true left wing candidate would funny enough, align a little bit with Trump: Focus on keeping American tax dollars spent on America, staunch antiwar movement, focus on policy to improve conditions for blue collar workers through expanding social wellfare programs, increasing minimum wage laws, and aligning with labor unions. Most importantly, a real left wing candidate would position themselves as staunchly anti establishment, while Kid Killin Kamala firmly positioned herself as THE figure of the establishment.
redditor012499@reddit
She never said she was for gun confiscation. I don’t knew but I’d assume she’s above average intelligence since she was a prosecutor and a senator.
ResidentInner8293@reddit
Her centralism is too far left for this country. Her ideas could have possibly been favored in a less Freedom based country.
doodliest_dude@reddit
Federal minimum wage at 7.25 doesn’t matter at all nowadays. I don’t know why people still care about that. Even in low income states like the south, it’s near impossible to get hired for less than $12 in my area.
JefftheBaptist@reddit
Political comment here: The federal minimum wage shouldn't matter and isn't a good idea. The cost of living varies significantly across the country so it makes no sense to have a fixed minimum wage that applies uniformly.
ervin_pervin@reddit
You're delusional if you think dems lost for being "centrist".
redditor012499@reddit

Hector_Salamander@reddit
I voted for Kamala and I agree. The party leadership has this bizarre obsession with election a woman. They fucked Bernie in 2016 and they fucked us all in 2024.
Tammy Baldwin - the lesbian senator from WI - got 15,000 MORE votes than Kamala Harris.
redditor012499@reddit
Wow
RecoveredSack@reddit
I used to be a Dem too. But it’s blatant how much they lied during this campaign. I saw a video of Kamala pretending to be on the phone with a voter, then she shows the screen to the crowd and it’s her camera. Not even a green bubble in the top left, so she was not on any call whatsoever. That is one example of dozens of lies that I noticed myself. Stupid obvious lies that did not do her justice.
dubbs911@reddit
Here’s a news flash, candidates and politicians lie. All campaigns are full of lies. All campaigns comerciales are full of lies. All of them. In case you didn’t know.
RecoveredSack@reddit
I do. But that doesn’t make it okay. The Harris Campaign’s lies were stupid and obvious. More so than ever before. Trump’s campaign was not similar to hers in that regard in any way you look at it.
BeenisHat@reddit
Trump's campaign lies were also stupid and obvious. You need to assume everything that man says is bullshit until you can do verify it yourself.
RecoveredSack@reddit
That’s exactly how the media treated him and it’s was completely false. You listened to the wrong people.
BeenisHat@reddit
You're implying he's different from every other lying politician ever?
Dude, grow up.
quitesensibleanalogy@reddit
I'll buy you a Barrett if you can actually prove that. You can't though. It's an impossible to prove statement. Plenty of truth about dishonest politicians so why lie about it?
Happily_Frustrated@reddit
Bro how are you this stupid. Try it yourself right now and you won’t have a green bubble. Goddamn you guys are embarrassingly stupid. You put zero effort in to actually learning something. The most dangerous kind of dumb.
quitesensibleanalogy@reddit
There are plenty of reasons to be against Harris, but Trump is the biggest spewer of baldfaced lies and unsubstantiated accusations in modern history.
Comparing her to the guy who stood in a 2/3 ish empty stadium and bragged to the crowd there that his rallies always sell out and nobody ever leaves. They could look around themselves and see him lying his ass off to gaslight the people that only saw the camera feed is laughable.
dubbs911@reddit

Biden got 78* million Kamala is like 62 right now
I doubt 16 million people sat at home just because Kamala is "centrist" (not getting into my view on that) compared to Biden who is probably the furthest right Dem to run since Bill Clinton
hemingways-lemonade@reddit
They sat at home because they didn't vote for to be their candidate. The DNC fucked up big time by not booting Biden before the primaries. Democrats got stuck with a candidate they never liked.
Cliffinati@reddit
Yep she had no time to build momentum among Dems
hemingways-lemonade@reddit
She wouldn't have built momentum even with a full election cycle. She was massively unpopular in 2020. She ended her campaign well before the primary due to lack of funding.
mondaymoderate@reddit
Let’s be honest. No dem was winning this election because of inflation.
PIHWLOOC@reddit
Yeah calling Kamala fucking Harris a “centrist” is just so out of touch with reality. You don’t even have to have feelings she was voted the most leftist senator in 2016 or whatever haha
redditor012499@reddit
She’s more left than Bernie? Are you sure?
PIHWLOOC@reddit
Yes.
redditor012499@reddit
How
Huntrawrd@reddit
I don't think they were pushing centrist candidates, though. Harris is nowhere close to "center". Tulsi Gabbard, RFK, Joe Rogan, are all centrist. The truth is that the left and the DNC veered wayyyyyyyyyyyyy to the left, and that shifted their idea of what "center" is.
ResidentInner8293@reddit
Agreed but they wouldn't listen and neither would their supporters. They were SO SURE that everyone wanted their lives to revolve around LGBTQ+ issues and holidays when they are a minority in the American population.
I want everyone to have rights regardless of their sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, race, color, nationality, ethnicity etc etc, BUT I DO NOT support making everyone about one group all the time. That's what the left was doing and people were over it. It became too much, like having ice cream for every meal. They over did it and people were just over it. I know I was.
redditor012499@reddit
I agree. They focused on small minority of people. While ignoring the majority.
