Hey everyone as you read the title, just passed my commercial checkride yesterday on Election Day, felt like I was getting elected as a cpl, I live in nyc and did my training in Long Island out of republic farmingdale airport ( KFRG ) under the jfk’s bravo, so how do I go on about applying to cadet programs after getting commercial, and how do I choose which airline cadet program to go for and I want to be based out of NYC or Indiana because I got my ppl and IFR rating out of Indianapolis and I have houses in both states so any of those can work, I’m 3/3 and gonna start cfi training in a week and before I get cfi license I definitely want to be in a cadet program so please if there’s any suggestions from someone who has already gone through this and what to expect, any advice would help a lot !

Worth noting that some regionals offer a flow program to their major counterpart, but this is not always the quickest path. If there's a major carrier you'd like to end up at in the long run, consider cadet program under a different carrier's regional to build time for your end goal. Always check the contract to see if there's a time commitment.

Clearly the “be able to write” part of the eligibility for commercial was overlooked by your DPE

You go to the airline's website and apply to them.... And you apply to all of them. If you want new york, probably Republic is your best bet, despite it's shitty contract. Check out this map for airline bases.
Keep in mind, these cadet programs are just marketing schemes. All it is. Some don't even give you a CJO when you get your hours, just a guaranteed interview (Skywest, at least used to be that way). They may be beneficial, helped me during COVID, got a big jump when hiring restarted.
