My cousin was a captain on 75’s for Eastern. I was at ATL with him once and I noticed that , in contrast to the 727’s and DC-9’s, the 757 left the runway at a much higher deck angle. I mean, comparatively it looked like “the pencil” was going almost straight up. I asked James why that was; he responded with a smile and a twinkle in his eye that I’ll remember forever. “‘Cause ya just can’t help it.”
Narrowbody with the bones of a widebody. Due to commonality with the 767 it's over-engined and over-winged, which gave it the short-field performance necessary to replace the 727.
Ooooh, love seeing these classic Delta 757s! I think a lot of them had those RR RB211 engines, right? Such a powerhouse, but I heard it’s getting tougher to find parts for them nowadays. Guess it’s not easy keeping these old birds in the air when parts are rare and pricey! Makes you appreciate the work the maintenance crews do to keep them flying. Does anyone know if this one had the RB211s or the P & W engines?

God damn look at that old livery. I used to build winglet retrofits for the 75 platform and still miss it

One the best looking airframes ever imho. Comfortable traveling, flown a lot with them in Europe.

Who here thinks that Delta should paint an A350 in the widget? 🙋🏽

They should bring back an updated version for the entire fleet. The current livery is dull and cheap-looking IMO.

Best livery of DL’s existence. Adding three subsequent rebrands was a massive mistake IMO.

Agreed. Best looking jet…in the best livery.

Not a pilot but I've heard these can move for a big jet.

This particular 757 is scrapped at Renton

Looks like she was also involved in a bird strike

80s/90s were the greatest for liveries - Delta, AA, United ‘s Saul bass, USAir, British Airways Landor…the list goes on
