Is it abnormal to use numbers for exits vs knowing what a street turns into?

That's why they have numbers. Round here streets have different names ( 125th is also main St and county Rd 43) hard to get all that on a sign

both are acceptable. I don't even use signs in seattle to know where I'm going most of the time, I just know.

But in busy locations there can be several exits in a single mile and its nice to have both the number and the street name to confirm which is which.
