Russia's position is that US foreign policies go on beyond presidents, the US and any US president cannot be trusted, and that the US lies on diplomatic issues and breaks treaties on a whim. It's hard to argue against that.
Before the election there were reports that Putin actually preferred a Harris administration just because Trump is a loose cannon and Harris was more predictable. Either way, Russia has troops on the battlefield and has earned the right to dictate a peace in Ukraine. The US and NATO's military position has not changed just because Trump was elected.
