We are new in England. Want a week away in December, need suggestions. Have no idea about places here.
Objective-Soft4116@reddit
Lots to do/see in the Bath/Bristol area and trains are good between those places.

Clearing a few misunderstandings. We would be away for a week.
We love in Warwickshire. I want to go to slightlu warmer place. We would be taking a bus/train. Don't want anything too expensive. Want to explore a bit but also have some relaxing time.

Or Milton Keynes.

If you live in the city, go to the countryside. If we live in the countryside, go to a city.

You mention a weekend in the title but a week in the post. How long in days are you looking to go away for?
Where in England do you live? This will affect your travel options.
Do you drive, or will you want to take public transport?
What sort of activities do you enjoy, or are you looking for somewhere to just chill and find a coffee shop with a nice view and a pub doing a good steak?

Centre parcs. Winter wonderland, pools, restaurants, activities, scenery, chilled atmosphere, epic spa, generally no riff raff, decent accommodation and its all in one place. Costs a bit but should be cheaper outside of kids holidays.

if you dont live in London , then go there. if you do live in London, go to York, Bath, Brighton, Edinburgh...

What kind of holiday are you looking for? Almost every major city during December will have a Christmas market, so hotels will be busy and expensive, but the nightlife and food will be great. If that's your bag, then get it booked sooner rather than later.
Are you more outdoorsy and happy being windswept and rained on while walking the dog. The lake/peak districts are beautiful.
If you want sun and relaxation, book a 4 hour flight to any of the canary isles.

Pick a city and go there, I'd start by suggesting Cambridge or Edinburgh.

A weekend or a week? Uk or abroad?
buginarugsnug@reddit
What area are you based in?
How far are you willing to travel? Will you be using a car or relying on public transport?
What are your interests / do you want and 'on the go' week away or a 'relaxing' week away?
Willowx@reddit
Many, many places. Where are you based, how far do you want to travel, do you want to spend £200 or £2000. What are you interested in doing/seeing?
RichardTauber@reddit
You need to say what kind of thinsg interest you. No-one can give you realstically helpful guidance based on what you have said. Historical locations? Countryside and walking? Seaside? Luxury hotel?
